When I studied the play I hated it and didnt understand it at all. Now, 2 years later, I love it, especially the ending; its so beautiful and sad. I can now relate to the characters and empathise with them, especially Rita. Thats what makes it so special. Thanks for uploading xxx

I just balled my eyes out! I absolutely love the play, but I honestly think the film is better, and that's a first for me when comparing books and plays. Poor Frank, He loved her so dearly. I only hope they met another time in the future and realised there was a possibility of them being together. Also, at the end, that almost kiss, uuggghh, I really wish they had kissed.

In the book/play it also misinterpret you to think they had sex but really it was just an haircut. I was surprise when she took her jacket off n I think dr. Bryant frank was too xD

I love how this movie doesn't end in a dramatic kiss. It's a congenial hug between good friends. Sure, the relationship could develop but I see it as a friendship more and we never really see those in movies, platonic bonds between men and women.

Extraordinary Film, however, the play (the book) is more accurate and the film somewhat degenerates the actual story somewhat. Studying it school actually... anyways at 5.42 when she takes of her jacket, *my mind trailed off ROFL,

i loved watching rita's transformation, yet it was sad to see the professor's decline. a lot to learn and think about when it comes to the issue of identity and where we find it. made me think about the importance of being comfortable in your own skin, yet being prepared to grow and move forwards bravely in life . definitely makes my favorites list.

what an amazing movie! so poignant and touching. i rewound so many scenes over and over, either because they were so funny or just to let a particular message sink in. i loved rita's character and her zest and passion for life and learning, literature and adventure.

Great Film.

Micheal Caine was perfect to play Frank.

The final scene is pretty much heartbreaking.After Frank realises he has nothing more to teach Rita he realises there is nothing more she needs from himAnd as much as she has love for him she will never love him the way he loves her.

He does all he can do...try and make a fresh start.But knows he can only do this bye getting far far away.

So sad.

The movie enabled me to reframe my life from failed professor to one of a professor who aimed too high: to help end the unspeakable cruelty of economic sanctions which killed no less than 500,000 children in Iraq. An act which the US committed solely for financial gain & in the process outraged not merely the mute earth but has produced a horror will will hasten the collapse of the empires of the US and its running lackey dogs.

I am not british either, but there are a lot of great films that are British - my favourite films are British. The strongest and most interesting roles for female characters are in British made-for-TV movies. Female actors in British TV movies get lots of lead roles.

great movie! but be careful if you're studying the book, you should read the book first. there are many differences between the book and the movie...so don't use the movie as a summary if you write a test about the book...your teacher will be surprised because you'll write about scenes that don't happen in the book ;)

well, this has got to be one of the most underrated movies of all time. Julie Walters would have really deserved that Oscar. Either way, the acting was great altogether. I loved the book and I really appreciate the movie. For me there isn't a better one out there.
