@gunner641 It's important that you ensure the dvd cover from google (Box art) is in .PNG format and does not, I repeat does not, have a white border around the image. If it does, when selecting 256x256 in icofx, your DVD cover will appear smaller than usual.

Therefore select an image with no border or remove the border of the dvd cover art in PAINT or Photoshop before importing the file into icoFX.

@ARTDEVIL97 F5 reloads the page. Go back to page where the file is hidden (Example: libraries\Videos}, right click, select properties and uncheck hidden.

@cosmiqeddie You can change the actual video icon in mp4.  Use Itunes, open the folder containing all your files, right click, click on info. You can paste and pic you want for the video.

I think I may have the same problem as mookiiewoo, except the negative space isn't coming from the file, its a setting on windows vista: Even when you hold ctrl and use the mouse wheel, the other icons get bigger and small but the ones I make don't, the box around it does but the picture stays tiny ... Any chance you know how to fix this? I've googled til I can't google no more :(

OOooo I found out how to do it/what I was doing wrong:

In IcoFX, after you've upload your photo/picture to 256, click "icon" on the top menu and go to "Create Windows Icon from Image" and then save as you would usually ... then go about business as usual!

@leNOIRfae I finally did it but the problem I have rite now is that whenever I choose hidden on the original file and push F5 I see both the new shortcup with the icon and the original with the movie preview how do I get rid of it?

@JCNach21 right click an empty space in the window where both files exist, select sort by, and size. They should now be sorted into the orignals and the new icons versions. Right click the lowest original in the list and drag until all orginals are selected. Right click, select properties and make certain the check is in hidden. Actually do it twice until you see them disappear. Press F5 and they shouldn't return. If they do there's another option under File>Organise>View "Don't Show Hidden...."

Great tutorial man. Unfortunately it didn't work out so great for me. For some reason the Icon turns out too small and there's a bunch of negative-space around it :(

@mookiiewoo yeah you need to make certain that when you add a pic (.png is best with transparent background), to select 256x256 icon. I know what's happened in regard to you siuation with negative space. Look for .png files to use as icons and when imported to icoFX, you'll see whether or not the background is transparent.

@MRKAMPAC In MPC options unselect "Use XP Theming". Also ensure aero is running and have the newest MPC release, from the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.

@arnuliux Just search Google images, "Gamepad Icon" "Camera Icon" etc... find images in .png format, copy to icoFX as shown in this video. Create shortcut of orginal shortcut on desktop, hide the originals than follow directions as shown in the video. Easy just give it a try.
