  • thank you very much!

    thank you very much!

    thank you very much!

  • Thanks for the video. Is this also true for 13B series 7 rx7's?

  • Thanks the for the video. I'm going to do this on my 8 from on.

  • Don't be so nervous guy, you have a good voice for TV and present yourself well. No need to panic.

  • So true.ALWAYS rev the engine before you turn it off B U T

NEVER turn it of while having the throttle pressed.N E V E R.

Press the throttle rev to 2k-3k as correctly mentioned ,release the throttle and before the rpm hit 1k then turn off.No petrol and a little bit of oil inside to do its trick.

  • It's interesting even without having a car with Wankel engine.

  • very useful info thanks

  • Well after learning everything I have about this car...I don't want one anymore. Not because of the maintenance but because im pretty sure the previous owner probably never new or did the right things enough or at all.

  • this guys voice cant get any more boring.....

  • This is not necessary. Start the car, let it warm up for about 30 seconds (I do it until I hear the HVAC shut off) and drive it. Keep the engine RPM below 4K until it's at its normal operating temperature. As long as it is at its normal temperature range you can shut it off without raising RPMs beforehand. Followed this procedure the whole time and never flooded my '8 once. Hell, I even forgot once or twice to warm it up before shutting it off and still absolutely no problems with flooding.

  • @MrRectalRanger Very true mate!

  • so if i'm going to do that evrey time i will never get mi engine floaded? iven if i mouvet like 5m whith the engine coold? sory four mi bad english

  • thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Flooding was an issue on earlier models due to the spark not being strong enough to burn the excess of fuel on the chambers but with a ignition system on good conditions or with the bhr ignition system, flooding is no longer a big of an issue.

  • Wow this is great, could you give us some more rx8 tips?

ex: How to handle a flooded engine. -Thanks

  • wow i used to want one of these cars. not anymore.

  • @tLxInfamous Same here... got an evo instead lol

  • this would fail as a get away car.

  • @FreakMeBaby88 I said the same thing!

  • @FreakMeBaby88 I guess the key is, don't piss anybody off! lol

  • nice vid bro. and thank you it helps alot! ..i got a question most times when im driving my semi automatic car there's a red light it looks like a intake not sure tho i tryed looking it up and asking but cant seem to get a good answer. so if u can reply i can prob show u a picture of it.thanks again!

  • @MegaCrazywow I suspect that might be the engine coolant low light. Common fault on rx-8s but check the level anyways (when engine is cold). If the level is okay, then you either need a new coolant expansion tank (mega bucks from mazda) or you can just un-plug the sensor to stop the light coming on (electrical connection on side of expansion tank).

  • Thankyou!

  • Would this be the same for a automatic Rx-8?

  • @hellomoto8191 Yes but obviously without the clutch bit. :)

  • @hellomoto8191 Auto shud be the same

  • nice video, when stopping, do you have the clutch in as well as being in neutral?

  • @JD995 No, you only depress the clutch when starting the engine, it to reduce the slight load caused by the gearbox.

  • @trinitycars Not to mention without fully pressing the clutch it won't even crank. At least mine does that and so did my crappy Vitz.

  • @trinitycars Umm, sorry, but do you mean the clutch has to be released immediately after the engine starts? (Please forgive my poor English, for I am from Hong Kong.)

  • Mazda has an upgraded starter for the S1 to start more easily. also the latest MSP16 flash solves the flooding problem even better.

  • This is great.

Do AT's follow this exact procedure as well or are there slight differences?

    Thanks.

  • @killertoad Yes the same but in park position.

  • when you rev up when starting and stopping, are you supposed to be in neutral gear always?

  • @1ND3P3ND3NT69 Yes.

  • Tip, just to be safe i would raise the rpm higher maybe 4k-5k. Ive done this and NEVER had a problem with flooding. But, the shop i took it to for a regular oil change ended up flooding my shit ><

  • thats wild
