Because it boarderlines copywriting. Tacking someone else's work and stamping your own symbol on it claiming it's yours. Resident Evil is probably the least of horrible adaptations, take House Of The Dead for example. People who have no concern about the franchise when making adaptations. Such attitudes are dishonorable to doing a source justice. I disrespect anybody who can't stick to the concept... so RE is one of the least but even then there were some iffy moments, they did well though.

It would be safe to say so. Much like superhero movies, for example. In Batman (1989), the Joker fell from Gotham Cathedral and died. Now, in the Dark Knight he returns. He has died several times in comics, and has returned several times. Often, these comics are more of a "what if?" perspective, and hold little relation to one another. In RE, the movies hold characters like Carlos Olivera, but he dies later in Extinction, meanwhile where he lives on after the events of RE3: Nemesis.

At least they could mention the G-Virus, you know? But as I've said before, the movies are awful compared to their game counterparts. They never even mention what happens to Sherry Birkin. She is in the car at the end of the 2nd, but then is never seen or spoken of in the 3rd. Did she die? If she did, that contradicts the events that will lead into next year's RE5. There are just far too many problems and plot holes. Sad, isn't it?

In the games zombies were just accidents, what they were trying to make were Tyrants but only a few percent of people can become a Tyrant so most either die or become zombies from the T-virus.
