  • I've been watching your excellent videos for a while now but have only just subscribed - thank you for helping everyone with Korean!

Can I ask - what programme do you use to make your videos?

  • my question is why does the spelling change every time i go to a different site or video? i'm not positive which one is actually correct because of that.

  • i'm sorry but i just couldn't help noticing that you read 3 as set, while in hangul it is written as ses? i'm a bit confused.. could u please explain ^^

  • lol this is super fun and helpful at the same time, i really love your videos! and like @servadeae already said, it would be nice to hear each number sloooowly, then normal and then fast! :D

  • This actually is really helpful, but also really entertaining with the mouse action and funny voice and random mistakes. Super cute, actually :P But I think more tutorials should be like this!! Only thing I'd suggest is saying each word/number verrrrry slowly as well as normal and fast.

  • You speak like a retard

  • What is the diffrent between native-/and sino korean!?

and what do people use more!? native-or sino korean?! ,please,answer..^^

  • @PurdyGirlBVB It confuses me sometimes too. need help. :/

  • @PurdyGirlBVB when ㅅ is in the bottom, it always has a t sound. for example, if i koreanize the spelling of the english name matt, it would be spelt 맷. ㅁ=m. ㅐ= a ㅅ= t

  • 혀ㅡㅁ

  • da, da, da, da, da ,da :D. great teacher!!!

  • Both Japanese and Chinese are easy!!!! But Korean, is super hard!!!!

  • @JinchurikiLove22 your serious?! -.-

  • @xhuyentran Dead serious! Maybe because I've been learning Japanese for three years now. I started chinese last year but it's easy! Once I get mi camera workin' i will make a video of me speaking chinese and japanese!

  • @JinchurikiLove22 kekeke, and I thought Korean was a easy. I do not take lessons or anything, it's just for fun but I try hard to learn Korean :) and would like to learn japanese too!

  • @JinchurikiLove22 just the sheer amount of chinese letters makes me think that japanese and chinese are hard.. korea has the lowest illiteracy rate in the world, so in other cases it's much easier than japanese and chinese

  • @tokee1234567 . . . I think that is the 'highest' literacy rate in the world . . . not the lowest. Also, in recent years the Koreans have won many competitions, I believe . . . such as in 'strategy', I think. Anyway . . . they are the best writers of Dramas and actors and directors . . . GOD Bless the Koreans and all Asians.

  • @jwmcmac i said "illiteracy" - meaning "not being able to read"

  • @tokee1234567 . . . there I go . . . I couldn't see all those illli's next to each other . . . wrong glasses, I guess . . . sorry.

I like using negatives like that . . . and double negatives . . . but not in this environment of youtube . . . but sorry that I missed that one. GOD Bless.

  • Thank you so much! this was sooo much help ^_^

  • I love You <3

  • Thank you, I learnt the sino korean system and I was wondering why they something say " hana deul set " instead of " il, i, sam... "

  • thank you! i need to learn this for taekwondo

  • Thank you so much this helped with Counting in Korean at my Taih Kwone doe class 6 year olds count like this this and im 10 ALLMOST 11 and i learned from this vid how to count in korean thank you now i need to go to my taih kwone doe thank you agian bye!

  • How would you say "because you make me smile"? Neomu neomu kamsahamnida!!

  • @NaneunB2utyImnida neo-ga nal ootgae-hanikka

  • Comment removed

  • So in Hangul it will be like this? 너가 날 욷개 하닉카? I am sorry I didn't mention before.

  • @NaneunB2utyImnida 너가 날 웃게 하니까.

  • thumbs up! if this video is helpful!

  • The different colors help a lot! thanks!

  • thank u it helped me alot!

  • It's a bit hard to distinguish Da from Ta, because even though you have the romanised spelling as "da", it still sounds to me like you are saying "ta". I guess that after a while my ears will adjust to the difference because I am having the same issues with Ga / Ka, Ba / Pa and Ja /Cha sounds. This was still a very useful clip for me to watch though, thank you.

  • @Aethyr957 it's called aspiration. it's a soft T sound or a slightly puffed up D sound if you get what I mean... the same goes for all the other ones you are mentioning. if it says B it's really an aspiration sound that makes it sound like a P, same for J sounding like CH and etc..

  • I can count to ten because of TaeKwonDo ^^

  • Thank you!!

  • 감사합니다 선생님 ^^

  • thank you for your videos, really appreciate you taking out your time to teach us non korean speakers. ^^

  • thxxxx but i find korean so hard:(((( although i can already fluently sing the three bears song (I learned from kyuhyun<3)

  • the romanization on this is REALLY distracting. I can read the Korean correctly but my eyes are drawn like magnets to the more-familiar roman characters and i start reading those, causing mispronunciation :(

  • @ahnaka0 Sorry! I completely understand. Maybe I should put them with an option of "appear/disappear"

  • @BusyAtomdotcom - very considerate of you :) If students want to start with the numbers but haven't learned the alphabet yet, it is a good option to have the romanization. Kam sa ham nee da! (by the way, how could one type with Korean letters?)

  • @BusyAtomdotcom . . . . Thanks for the Romanization . . . it helps me . . . Kamsahamnida! GOD Bless you . . . 신은 강복한다

  • @BusyAtomdotcom annotations

  • @ahnaka0 agreed... but thats an orthography (writing system) problem... not poor (super awesome) busyatomdotcom's problem :D

  • 감사합니다~ ^^Thank you for all the videos~ they are very helpful :)

  • @Yudinee that's great! thank you for watching^__^

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!

  • @tadamu888 to pronounce two, it is basically 'set' but just say it fast and BARELY pronouncing the T in 'set'. Idk how to explain it but its not 'sen' or 'se'

  • How do you pronounce 'two'? Like this: 'Sen' or 'Se' ?

  • Thank you ^_^

  • @Phoenixarrow1 You're welcome!^__^

  • this is very helpful !!! thank you so much!! i love korean :D!

  • @ChubbbyJai Thank you for watching^__^

  • thank you for the time and effort you are putting into teaching viewers korean! the way you are teaching is very effective ^_^ kamsahamnida!

  • @lyra671 ^__^ 감사합니다!

  • lol same mistake as block b! focus sounds like fuck us xD LOLOL

  • like in japanese they count eleven like ten one...jiuichi, jiuni...and for twenty is nijiu

  • @yonghan533 hahahaha i heard it too hahahahahahaha

  • @yonghan533 hahah!!!

  • so helpful! ^^

  • fuck us xD

  • Hey thanks bcuzz i doing teakwondo and wen we strech wen ned to count thanks

  • two sounds more like tul than dul:\

  • @reneechiuyanki it's like Dool. a lot of Korean sounds are really soft sounds of letters like T, P, so that they sound like different letters. think of it as a soft T, or a D that you hardly touch your lips together to pronounce

  • roflmfao this helped me a lot but the reason why i learned is because its so funny!! like when he said five "da da da da da da seot" and when "finally, ten!! oh sorry its supposed to be ten :|" lmfao...good job!!

  • actually, English has two counting systems: one, two, three, four ect. & first, second, third, fourth ect.

  • @U2bWho95 well, Korea has 2 number systems, one for counting and one for computation. it actually becomes more complicated than that. English has 1 number system and another one for setting priority or order. you don't use first or second to count objects or age

  • Would you please have a lesson of saying "what time is it?" and the following time answers:

    What time is it?

    It’s 1 o’clock. It’s 7 o’clock.

    It’s 12:30. It’ 5:30.

    It’s 3:00 AM. It’s 6:30 PM.

    It’s 4:15. It’s 2:45.

    It’s 5:05. It’s 3:28.

    Kamsahamnida.

  • I like your method of teaching koreano because treat me as if had a five years and make everything sound easy. you are're a good teacher are teaching me both languagesat the same time. Because i perfection my English and learn koreano than once. Super cool.

  • I Only Know Ten, Hana Dul Set Net Daseout Yoeseot Ilgop Yeodeol And Ahop

  • The structure (11 = 10 + 1, etc) is similar to Chinese, which is the second language I speak :D

Going into this video, I only knew "hana dul set" because that's what is said right before taking photos haha.

    Thank you!! ^-^

  • This really helps! Thank you for your wonderful video! ^^ :D

  • Finally a REAL KOREAN MAN is teaching the language ;D Most tutorials I find is usually a girl - cute and all... but I need a male voice! Now this voice sounds like a REAL KOREAN MAN that just had his bibimbap with kimchi and downed it with a bottle of soju. If i listen to squeaky Korean female voices, I swear, I will learn to speak like a pussy and no KOREAN MAN will want to drink soju with me.

  • @Poland1st 아, 웰컴투 마이 월드! 반갑습니다.

  • @BusyAtomdotcom lol. <3 how I can understand it through phonetics.

  • @Poland1st ur a silly individual. that was a sexist comment you made, its no one else's fault if you speak lk a woman but ur own. if you're a man you will sound like a man, if you chooose to sound lk a woman that's your choice. dont put absurd comments like that under an informational video because it makes you seem lk a douchebag.seriously.

  • @jaguarNuKiTTiii Lol, and u need to get a life and learn not to take everything too seriously. If more politically correct people like you are born, soon joking will be banned altogether. I have nothing against Korean women... in fact I am with one! So who are you to tell me not to post such comments? ;) while my comment was in a joking tone, there is a lot of truth in it. Some people learn by mimicking exactly what they hear, also the pitch of the voice. Intricate Korean vowels cause problems!

  • this is so different from my native language which is spanish D: its hard but its so fun for some reason

  • who else found it funny when he was using the green pen for us to practise? haha. I was laughing the whole wayy. Great tutorial btw. :)

  • Thanks

  • Wow this helps more than to learn by myself!! The only reason that I learn korean is k-pop ;)

  • for number five is it correct for me to pronounce it as "tasot" instead of "daseot" or would that look like a have a big accent...

  • Thank you so much! This is very helpful!

  • 감사합니다, 선생님!

  • and i think 13 in korean is yeolset, right?? and 14 is yeolnet,.......

  • WOOW! THANKS SO MUCH TEACHER ^^

    YOU RE SO SWEET ^^

    THANKS ^^

  • thAnk you!!!=]

  • eight is really difficult ><

  • Wat is th difference between 8 and 12?

  • @xDefineRain yeo-dull (8), yeol-dool (12)

  • @tokee1234567 Dull as in th dull in eng? Which means boring?

  • @xDefineRain yes. it's closest to that sound. the way I romanize things are different than the standard romanization rule (because it sucks) and I know both English and Korean, so I try to make sure that it's easiest and accurate for english speakers

  • its tough but i must get this right! >.<

im doing this for BIG BANG.

    aah~! FIGHTING me! XD

  • aish..

  • i've a question here . how do we pronounce 12 ? is it 'yeldul' or 'yeoldul' ?

  • @nuyulfana95 yeol-dool. remember 10 is yeol so 12 needs to have that sound

  • i've been following your tutorials since 2 yrs ago . and it really works . now i can read and write hangul and keep improving little by little . thanks a bunch :D

  • my friend said she learned the korean numbers from u and i could not be asked to teach her so thank u from me gamsamida

  • da da da da da daseot.<---xD

nice ! i really like ur videos:)

  • Thank you for posting this and the other videos. I am taking Korean lessons now and I have been reviewing your videos in order to prepare for class

  • Ooooh. I'm going to start learning Korean b/c I'm really into kpop & kdramas, but I've never understood anything. :s And I'm also learning this for when I go to Korea next next summer. ;D I'm Chinese, so it isn't too hard for me, at the moment. C:

    Thanks for the upload!

  • @sweetparry I agree your comment. :) I am into Kpop and KDramas... ^_^ Trying to learn korea too...Hahaaa ^^

  • Thank you so much !

  • Thank you so much

    it's really useful video

    :D

  • Thank you for this video ^^

  • In my Taekwondo class I got confused...We count like hana, dul, set, but the forms are Taek geuk il (i, sam) jong (...I think...) using the other numbers...

  • wht a headache...wht with 2 sets

  • @Paranutful hey, my 6 year old son and I learned it for karate with no problems. If he can do it, you can too. Ah, and we learned it in Japanese too. Practice.

  • hha :DD .i buy a book "learn to speak korean" .it's more on conversation too . im proud of my self coz know how to count 1-10 in native system ^^

  • Thank you VERRRY MUCH MAN !!!!

    I need this for Tae-Kwon-Do :D

  • @MrMusicIsMine same thing. :D i enrolled in the middle of the first season so everyone is a striped belt but me.im all white....so im kinda behind lol.

  • yeolhana is like "yorana"?

  • @naruciak3000 it would sound closest to Yuhrana if you say it fast... most people think that Eo sounds like O but it's really like UH

  • @tokee1234567 Oh, thanks ^^

  • korean is really cool but there are so much signs to show one number

  • @jacklondon21 just 2 number systems... what do you mean so many signs?

  • @tokee1234567 i mean, 1 in latin alphabet only a vertical line,in japan-chinese a horizontal line . 1 = 하나 in korea. so writing would take time. but i noticed that because i write 2 much. if u r not gonna write much , it's still cool :)

  • @jacklondon21 just so you know 1 is a number, not a latin alphabet. 일 is just as complicated as writing un, uno, one, and etc in other western languages :)

  • Very helpful video. Thank You.

  • i just want to know when u use Sino/native number when u use it in what way

  • It's very fun to learn with u ^^

  • he has a nice voice :))

  • @manucouldntbeme LOL. he has a robot voice..

  • aaahh ; im trying to learn this ;;;and im viet ; it's so hard thoughh

  • @b1gbang2pm I really want to say that you don't have to nail the pronunciation down if you are a foreigner (since people will understand) but if you have to with some reasons, I am sorry to say this but please practice.

  • @BusyAtomdotcom

    wht does 20 become then?

  • @MegaSassygirl11 sip-ee . 2 + 10 literally if you mean by Sino-Korean numbers (il ee sam sa)

  • @tokee1234567

    ahh thank uuuuuuuuuuu!

  • @b1gbang2pm me too!

  • Dom Joly isn't far off.

  • I find Sino-Korean much more easier to learn, maybe because I'm Chinese and that's why I can remember the sound of the Sino-Korean easier than the native Korean ones.

  • @FarewelI lucky~ at least you already know one asian language since your chinese (assuming you know it) Nice =.=

  • May I know what's th diff between sino korean and korean?

  • @X3strawberry Sino Korean is based on Chinese writing, kinda like how Japanese Kanji is based on Chinese too. Hanja is based on Chinese writing as well

  • You're a great teacher!

  • when you said "so lets focus...focus...and focus..." I seriously thought you said "fuck it...fuck it and fuck..." but with an accent ^^; eheh sorry 'bout great tutorial btw ;D

  • @xXPandaTsubasaXx it sounded like fuck-us, fuck-us, fuck-us

  • @xXPandaTsubasaXx i though he said "fuck us... fuck us... fuck us..." hahahahahaaa.....

man, this is funny! also when he said "ups, sorry.. this is supposed to be ten" LOL

but this is also very very informative & detail tutorial. Thumbs up!

  • :) i learned these a long time ago, when i was in 1st to 3rd grade i was taking Tae Kwon Do and i heard them every day and i ended up learning them but with time i started mixing them up and changing them around plus changing sounds too.
