First off, a 2000+ V6 stang has a 3.8 Litre engine that generates 190 Horsepower, and the new body mustang has a 4.0 litre v6 that generates 210 hp. Mustang v6's are still slow in my book. I've raced a 2000 one and beat it by maybe a car in my 01 GP GT, and my dad owns got my sis a 2006 mustang v6 and it's a bit faster but still doesn't cut it.
the stock cougar brand new has 170 hp and way 3 grand they are farely slow....whereas the mustang v6 stars off at 230 hp with 3200 lb's of wieght so you do the math. if both those cars are stock then the mustang wins hands down. dont brag about weather ones better than the other. this is the true facts. little 2.5 l v6 will not beat that mustang 3.5 liter v6 haha idiots.

My auto v6 beat a 5spd Cougar, all I know is it had a Borla exhaust kit and looked really nice (black, black rims, and bodykit). I only had a couple of mods done then too, exhaust and CAI, maybe the guy couldn't drive.

i def. smoked some v6 mustangs with my coug..gotta be 5 speed man, cant buy a car any other way...and with mods they didnt stand a chance..v6 stangs are just a waste of wheels

o and stangerdude01 the v6 mustang weighs around 3000 -3500 so there really isnt much weight diffrence .... and Mr2guy idk wut youve done to your 4 cylinder probe but it must be pretty fucking sweet it it can hang with some of the 5.0s

hey way to be and idoit and put your and her life at risk over some retarted ass cougar and no to 4 cylinder probe will not hang with a 99+ v6 mustang my friends 94 gt (v6) that was highly moddified (also professionally tuned to for best results) didnt and we raced three times and each i came out as the winner

my 4 cyclinder probe would woop ur mustang so bad i beat so many v6 mustangs 5.0's r a tad bit faster but they beat my car by .3 in the quater mile and 4.6 gt r alot better get a gt man if u get a mustang, if u want to see my sleeper probe check out my myspace pics

i disagree with you avenger the v6 mustang is under powered but the average v6 cougar wieghs about 2900pds and has around 170 hp the v6 mustang has 190hp and around 220 tq. Ive raced three cougars with my v6 and two were v6s and one i4 i beat all of em with no problem. If Im not mistaken their front wheel drive 2. The kid in the mustang though should be smarter and not race with his girlfriend. Dont put her life at risk because you feel your car is superior. acuras are kick ass

all of you seem to have no clue...the stupid 3.8 is a waste of space powerless for the size of v6...it only has 190 horse in it...use your head,the mustang is bigger, heavier, and for the engine to power ratio compared to the cougar...powerless, i dont think that cougar was even giving it half throttle...acura makes a 3.2 with 270 plus horse stock

a liter advantage ???? lol wtf are you talking about a 2001 maxima has 3.5 liters and can still roast v6 stangs ( learned from expierence) the cougar lost cuase they are really fucking slow and it like like he gave up after he started hp and tq is what you should look at not liters

think about it...no compitition. thats because you have the liter advatage.
cougars are biggest at 2.5 v6 or a 3.0L v6 with a swap.
the mustangs are anywhere form 3.8 to 4.0L
use your head. how about you accually try and find some compitition and see if you win huh
