  • This is GOLD

  • Such a talented singer he was, have loved this song for years. Have never seen the album, any clues as to where I could get a copy on CD?

  • There is something from Roy Orbinson here,

    nice :D

  • Such a hauntingly beautiful song, and so sadly prophetic. Miss you, Del!!

  • Do you have The Plucka Duck segment to this????

  • the album I have listened to the most over the last 20 years is "Rock on" without a doubt...fantastic songs and THAT voice I will never ever forget...go listen to "Lost in a memory" or "who left who"...absolutely stunning music

  • brilliant should have been a big hit two people with no tasteon the ratings rip del the real king

  • At the end of this, Daryl asked Del if there was any truth to the rumour that he was asked to join the Traveling Wilburys to replace Roy Orbison. He responded something along the lines of, "No, but it's a nice rumour". It's a shame he decided to join Roy Orison instead!

  • Great tune!

  • I can't believe I never heard this song until yesterday. I can't believe this song never became a major hit. I can't believe Del Shannon is no longer with us. Requiescat in pacem, Del Shannon.

  • This is the first time I have heard this. It is awesome...Thank you for sharing. It is now in my favorites.

  • As long as I'm alive, Del will 'Rock on'.

  • Rest in Peace Del, and thank you for the music.

  • Fantastic TV spot of Del doing the rare "Walk Away" - lovely!

  • my gosh how he is missed. this sounds so much like a touch of the grand Roy Orbison

It makes one tremble a bit to see some one who was talented as Del, to no longer be with us. Blessings for this post.

  • lifelong

  • he sounds so much like Roy Orbison in the beginning of the song its no wonder Jeff Lynn/Tom Petty were considering him as fill in for Roy

  • what a great song, you are so right, LCC0256, his stuff is so good it just has to be re-discovered!!!!

  • The best there ever was. LOVE YOU DEL,

    R I P. XXXXXXX

  • This is such a great song. Should have been a hit ya know?

  • Del was one of Jeff Lynne's idols, glad they got to work together on this being one of the finest songs.

  • del shannon at his best yaaaaaaa 5

  • thumbs up del

  • This song smokes...it is hard to believe this guy was rocking like this for 30 years straight...This song is going to stand the test of time make book on it...just like the rest of his music it will be discovered by another generation & he will continue to gain in popularity

  • @LCC0256 I so much agree with you, wishing that all of the death and killing and demonising could just stop in what is called music. its sad that music has becomewhat it has today. Del was a talent that will endure. Blessings...

  • I hope you're at peace now Del,miss you heaps still remember hearing the news on that tragic day:(

  • Bigger and better things were ahead for you, Del. A whole new generation was getting to know you. Wow, you would of been great with the Wilburys. Anyhow, I always dug the music. You were rock n roll!!

  • Miss you Del, outstanding performer!

  • classic!

  • "Don't know why, it has to be the way it is I tried and I tried" POWERFUL stuff!

  • This is one of my favorite songs ever, Del wrote so many of them.

  • this song has Travelling Wilburiies and ELO at its essence, his album would have been a major success at that time, has he ever released it or was just in the works?

  • The album was released in 1991 - some parts were completed after Dels death. The album is called "Rock On!"

  • Yep i saw Del a few times when he came to England and he always gave a great show it was a sad end and i know he will always be missed but his music will always remain popular amongst young and old so thanks for that Del

  • "Rock On" in Heaven,Del ...!!!

    Surely,We'll never forget You !!!

  • He was very good at what he did.

  • Del Shannon to me was and still is the greatest singer to ever walk the face of this earth. from Runaway to Walk Away his songs are true classics and in my opinion will be around forever Rest In Peace Del its been 20 years but you are still missed

  • Timeless & wonderful Del Shannon!

  • i bought a bootleg wilburys Cd entitled "volume 4" and it has this song under Roy Orbison! No wonder the Wilburys wanted Shannon as Roy's replacement - they are voice twins! never bloody realised it was Del Shannon until today.

  • this was runaway 40 years later.absoutely drama just like roy, john melencamp.he only new this style.i can't believe he couldn't see the future enough to not off himself.i knew friends of his and they said he was a thorn in everyones ass when he was in highschool and always pushing the limits.copersville has honored him as he deserved.what a great musician, writer, singer human.i just wished he could have stuck it out.the traveling wilbury's were doomed.george, roy, and del all left us.i remember

  • To Mrs. Shannon: I hope you know how much Del is missed. He was really something and much, much more.

  • sounds like a jeff lynne production

  • and it is for sure !

  • @rockolav that's because it is actually a Jeff Lynne production..

  • a beautiful song del i love you

  • a true rock n roll legend he lives everytime i chuck on his records

  • I love the "Rock On" album, and how I wish Del was still with us...

  • What a lovely song, you just went from big to greater as singer and composer,I miss you so it hurts inside, love you forever Del,caro

  • Such a great talent, gone way too soon, he just got better and better..... miss him so much, but his wonderful voice lives on xox

  • Love this! Love Del Forever! such a great song...5+Stars

  • Great song! This should have been a hit considering others like Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney etc were hitting the charts in 1989. This should have been released worldwide. Poor management for Del, but what else is new?
