heyy guys, every time i use the polygonal lasso tool, and i press V and drag it somewhere else. it seems faded on the sides. how do i get the piece that i selected to be clean cut with no fades on the edges.
2) by Ctrl+ click on a layer(or maybe right click-i don't remember well) that was contain a shape or picture, smaller that the whole page, I would have my picture(with any shape) selected. do u have any idea how can i do those in CS4?
do we have to open another layer for every change we do on the picture? i m taking photoshop classes now our teacher was saying for every color change we oopen anohter layer.
I'm all about short & sweet, but I would have liked this to have been a little more comprehensive. Especially since I'm new to photoshop. But I will test this out. Thanks for the help.
wow, nice job :) i realy like it :) i noticed that u'r putting fire effect in many of pictures.. and i like that too :) only what i can say is: keep going like that.. u'r amazing!
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise! I have had the program for years and am committed to learning it! The Adobe website has not been helpful to me at all. Kudos!
Some nice pictures you got there at the end. I'm always having trouble with finding nice background textures, does anyone have a very nice site with many textures that I could use? Ow, nice motion blurring btw, have you made a tutorial about that? It's always nice to know how it works, if you have pictures with people showing some kind of movement. For instance the rugby player, you put some very nice motion blur on that
And the eye of the tiger picture, it's funny, it looks like he is farting.
you plan on coming out with any new tutorials? I hope you do, this is still one of the best, simplest tutorials on youtube and you didn't even use video capture. 5 stars.
Dunno if you've found out yet, but i had the same problem, and i thought you might want to know;) all you've got to do is right click on the lasso tool, and select the polygonal lasso tool.
.Yes you have to trace it yourself.Choose the polygonal lasso. If you are on a Mac hold down the "alt option" key while you move the mouse it will turn to a slightly easier to manage version of the lasso tool because you can let go of the mouse button when you need to.
change the...man whats the word for it..units per...ahhhhhhhh...ok across the bar on the top u can change like the sensitivity of the tool...it changes like how it groups the pixels together
im farily new to photoshop myself, but i would guess...
create new
new layer (plus your background layer thats already there)
draw a square for the pic while the background lair is highlited... and open the image there. itll show up as a pic on the background lair... just try it i guess. good luck :)
hey, are some of those tools like plugins or upgraded becuase i dont see the polygonal lasso as well as a few other tools in your video as wells as other peoples
I have a question about the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop 7. It worked fine in my old computer, Windows ME. Now I have to use it in **cough** Vista. What happens is when I start tracing the image, sometimes (heaviy on sometimes) the traced part will end abruptly for no reason and cut out a part I never intended on removing. Ever have that happen to you??
hey man great tutorial really worked!!, i shall be using this all the time,
could you plz tell me what software u are using to capture this video ?? it would really help me out so if there's any chance of you telling me could you respond.
wow so im learning photoshop in my digital design class and they are terrible at teaching i never understand them. you are very helpful. are you going to put anymore up. i really don't know what else photoshop does.
Hey you got mad skills indeed i'm just getting into the Photoshop World for my own promotions for my projects. Just wish you could have shown how to get those effects? Like the fire some of the brushes and how to effectively use the Laso Tool. Other than that keep it up
this is amazing... could you post more tutorials like this [about layer effects]??? please.. this is exactly the kind of tutorial ive been looking for.. =]

ctrl+shift+n for hotkey - New Layer.
At your layer box, the one which only contains background in your case, there's an button for a new layer.
Also, you can make one by going to the top to the Edit/Image/etc. buttons, one of them has new layer as well.
Though the hotkey should be fine.
Be sure to do Ctrl+shift+n though, ctrl+n makes a new picture instead of just adding an layer.
