@eddie978n oh that would make sense, have you tried anything that is heavy action? even getting hung on tree stumps while fishing isnt a problem cuz you can bring em right up, and usually i use bluegill for fishin cuz everything eats it at the lake plu if you use the shad like everyone else does the fish know the bait esp if it was a catch and release they eventually get used to the hook in the bait and wont bite it unless you throw something diff down there this is when the really big ones bite

Your absolutely right, but it was a convenient place to fish when your 10 minutes away. It took me months to actualy start catching fish on that lake, and that was the largest one by far. The lake is ok for hybrids though. Still house hollow wasnt too bad for bass, but catfishing was tough there as well. Thanks for watching.
@eddie978n I do remember catching some decent hybrids. Killed them on little georges. Belton may have come around since I was there in the 90's as well. Still house was my go to for fishing in that area. Caught some decent largemouth there.

@allenbyford no it was about a pound shy. The record for that lake is only 7.3 pounds for channel cat, and it was like 6. Thats got to be one of the best chances in texas to actualy get the lake record though since its so small.
@yz125riderftw Get some soured wheat or milo for chum. Takes about 2 weeks to make. Throw out a couple cans full in the area you are fishing. You can also get some range cubes for chum too. They are found at farm and feed stores, cost about 8 bucks for a 50 pound sack.

@allenbyford no it was about a pound shy. The record for that lake is only 7.3 pounds for channel cat, and it was like 6. Thats got to be one of the best chances in texas to actualy get the lake record though since its so small.

@yz125riderftw Get some soured wheat or milo for chum. Takes about 2 weeks to make. Throw out a couple cans full in the area you are fishing. You can also get some range cubes for chum too. They are found at farm and feed stores, cost about 8 bucks for a 50 pound sack.

@CodyDWalker20 well if you would have had one of those 30lb fish weighed it would have been a record, if they were channel cat. If you look on the texas parks and wildlife website you can lookup the lake record for channel cat for belton lake. Its only like 7.4 pounds, thats for channels.
