@kinsley2108 because the ability to deal with very minor changes in wind change decrease significanly. You can go in a completely different direction with just a slight gust.
Its all good on a nice day, with no wind but you could fly a paper bag well in those conditions.
@gmanzeroalpha Yes but that's why different aircraft have different limits and a good pilot will not fly into crappy weather. Smaller planes fly for a shorter period too so weather changes are not normally that drastic. If they do happen to change quick, the weather service will know about it.
No real record of these planes having any crashing issues that I'm aware off? The whole "is it safe" thing is a non starter for me, your taking a risk every time you get out of bed. :-)
Wow, the wing area looks very small to carry a human. Can it fly on one engine? It seems like speed and constant power would be really critical to staying aloft.
How many horse power do each engine have ?? Where do I get propellors for small engines like that?? Im looking into building my own airplane .. I hope to hear back from someone.
you wouldnt believe how small jet engines are becoming. a jet engine of only 24"x12" is enough to fly a small airplane. just think about the fact that an airplane uses less materials to manafacture than a family car. my hope is to see community airports becoming more popular for special small family aircraft. the more popular we make aircraft the cheaper they will become. after seeing that james bond stunt plane you realize just how little materials are needed to fly
shit man this looks like a drunk blacksmith made with with one rotten piece of aluminium sheet. how on earth the pilot trusted it to make barrel??? looks like it can break off any moment...
@jonnibiscuit these things have been flying for almost 30 years i think it was designed by robert coloumbin.im sure i misspelled his name, just google search and enjoy his creations
Its called a Cri Cri.Its a french experimental that is very robust in construction. The only problem with this aircraft is the wing loading. You must fly it in low wind conditions.
@holeshotholm417 Then, you answered your own question as to why, didn't you? He is a capable pilot and is trained for such- because you aren't capable, doesn't mean others aren't.
