i love when the train does that they shut the power off for 1 minute then turn i back on again but when i get off we walk to 34th street to catch then subway when we take a trip to ny its like one whole day on 2 diffrent trains
the regional make the following stop NEW CARRLONTON ,BWI AIRPORT,BALTIMORE PENN STATION,WILMINGTON,DE,PHILADELPHIA,PA 30TH STREET STATION CONNECTIONS NJ TRANSIT TO ATLANTIC CITY SEPTA TO TRENTON AND CHESNUT HILL PHILA AIRPORT NEXT STOP N.PHILDELPHIA,TRENTON,NJ,PRINCTON JCT.METROPARK,NEWARK,NEW YORK PENN.STA,NEW HAVEN,ROUTE 128 S.,BOSTON BACK BAY,SOUTH STATION/SPRINGFIELD
Yup, but it doesn't stop at North Philly. Not to mention after New York Penn, it stops at New Rochelle, NY, Stamford, CT, Bridgeport, CT, New Haven, CT, Old Saybrook, CT, New London, CT, Mystic, CT, Westerly, RI, Kingston, RI, Providence, RI, then the three Boston stops. It does not go to Springfield.
Uh yeah, this line. The Northeast Corridor from Washington, DC to Boston serving intermediate cities like Baltimore, Wilmington, Philadelphia, Trenton, New York, New Haven, and Providence.
I usually don't go to the cafe except for a bottle of water. They use a steam microwave which means if you get a hamburger, it's spongy. That goes for just about anything heated you buy too. What I do is buy a nice meal before a get on the train and that way I'm satisfied until I reach my destination.
No, the cafe cars are the cars that have snacks (like hamburgers and chips) along with a few tables you can eat them at. Dining cars are on long distance trains.
Yea Amtrak pretty much sucks. Nothing like a European or Japanese train. And the food is alot better. But you may never get a chance in Europe or Japan cause those trains go at 200 mph and you always arrive on time.
I do the same thing as you. I buy food before or I bring it on the train.
I passed that History Channel wrapped Acela a few minutes before Secaucus. I really wanted to get that one on camera, but it was obviously too fast. That one was 2 or 3 tracks from me, but often times when a train passes me on the track next to mine, I have a hard time telling whether it's an Acela or a Regional. It was easily to tell that this was a NJT train because of the different colors on it.
It varies. Easter time actually happens to be the most expensive time of year. It's worse than Christmas for some reason. It usually varies between $70 and $130 for a trip from Washington to New Haven (which is where I went to on this train).
NJ Transit from Oregon to Penn Station? I think not. Unless you were talking about from Secaucus Junction which I passed in the begining of the video. You can easily take NJ Transit from there. :D
If you wanted to go from Oregon to Penn Station via Amtrak, you can take Amtrak Cascades to Seattle, then get on the Empire Builder to Chicago, and then get on the Lake Shore Limited to Penn Station. :D
I guess Trenton-NY could be worth taking Amtrak. Metropark-NY, probably not worth it. Just don't do Newark-NY on Amtrak. That's just a waste of money and too short a trip.
The Regional does provide a smooth ride, but you should use it for a bit of a longer trip such as Trenton-Boston, or Trenton-Washington. It's not worth it just to take it for example Trenton-NY or Trenton-Philly because it's a bit expensive for a short trip like that.
Probably for a good reason. They can get quite expensive even for just a short trip. A short trip from Penn Station to Newark can cost as little as 20 bucks or as much as 45. It makes you want to take NJTransit for that trip. Amtrak is very good for trips like New York to Washington though. It certainly beats flying.
And I was in that very same train right when this video was taken!

I like when the trains go through the Lincon tunnel.
Trainlover4ever2006 2 years ago
Um, the Lincoln is a road tunnel. Trains use the North and East river tunnels. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Are there train lines that New Yorkers and people in DC take back and fourth everyday.....
Between these two citys?

They just charge excessive taxes. But it's not like private railroads can't work here.

every time I ride on amtrak I hit the snack car and get high on junk

Cause I don't like that spongy food Amtrak gives.
madmaxninja08 3 years ago
Have you ever had their spongy burgers?
murjax 3 years ago
Yeah, I have and it really was gross. The only thing worth eating on Amtrak is their pizza which they coveniently always are out of.
madmaxninja08 3 years ago
I had there pizza on Thursday, It tasted great, but it was kinda soggy.
trainzrok 3 years ago
Soggy pizza cannot be "great". That made no sense. LOL !

No, im saying, it TASTED good. but it was soggy.

Is this train being formed from Amfleet III cars and HHP8 engine?

Agreed

I for one love penn station and mostly pulling into it especially when I see acelas on my way in... Good times.
ucvgabe 3 years ago
Yeah, I love Penn Station too, although I wish the concourse looked a little better.
murjax 3 years ago
Wtf the tunnel just came out of no where lol.
I like the vid. I love it when trains come up on the track next to you at full speed and it makes you jump. Like that NJT Run By.

I know its an amtrak regional cuz of the lines going across the windows. The red, partially white, and blue ones
ucvgabe 3 years ago
No, thats Phase three paint, amfleet cars now have a blue paint stripe around the window
trainzrok 3 years ago
you see the window shades on the regional, the acelas are just silver with windows

and by the way how much does a ticket cost

I would only take an Amtrak train from Philadelphia or Trenton to Newark & New York.
HotGirlDater475 4 years ago
I'd rather take Amtrak trains to Newark & Penn Station than NJT trains since NJT trains
make too much stops.

I'm almost certain it as an AEM-7.
murjax 4 years ago
That's true. I ride NJT trains daily every year. A trip from Philadelphia to Penn Station on a Acela Express train can cost
from $95.00 to $312.00.
HotGirlDater475 4 years ago
