Well about the HDD thing; the 2 connectors on the new 250GB are SATA Power and SATA Data, Adding to that it looks like the 2 male connectors integrated into the hard drive slots into the 2 female slots inside the xbox.

So in theory couldn't you just hook up 2 regular SATA cables (power and data) to the female connectors inside the xbox and plug those cables in to your own HDD?
