CN Rail Was The First To Introduce The Four Wide Cab Window, Around The Time They Introduced The Wide Cab(Safety Cab). And Still Are The Only Railway In Canada With These 4 Window Cabs. The Closet That CP Rail Has Is A 3 Wide On It's SD40-2F's, And There Are Only 25 On The Fleet. These Happen To Be The Last SD40-2 Models That CP Would By. Since Then CP Has Only Purcased 60 EMD's Period, Being 60 SD9043MAC's And 4 SD90MAC's(6000HP). All New Units Have Come From GE.

What's the difference between an SD60F and a C40-8M?

SD60Fs are a GMD locomotive, whereas C40-8Ms are GE's competitive answer to the SD60Fs and SD50Fs.

Canadian cabs often have 4 windows, like the ones you caught here... I don't know what people call them - four eyes???
These look closer to the Triclops SD60M's than the two window ones, IMHO.
