My wife and I saw him last Sunday in Bridgeport, CT. He opened for Chris Isaak and was fantastic even though he played for just 30 minutes, including "Don't Do It". He came on later with Chris and did "Kansas City". This was one of the best shows I've ever seen: two awesome musicians who engage their audiences like no one else. We got to say hello to James after his set! He's a nice guy.
I watched James Hunter at the Borderline last night - what a gig !!!Colchesters version of Sam Cooke live in Harlem. Don't do it was downright rough and dirty a real highlight.
What an incredible singer!! I've listened to Mr. Hunter's CD "People Gonna Talk" about 100 times and it is always fresh, wonderful and FANTASTIC!! What soul ~ thank you James for giving it your all! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
It was the fab 50s band called The "5" Royales. Read about one of James Hunter's hero guitarist, Lowman Pauling, by Googling Allmusic(dot-com) and entering (The "5" Royales) in the seach field under Artists/Groups. Enjoy!
Well we totally agree about your Colchester Homeboy! Stay tuned for more vids soon to be posted from his last gig (Aug 20th). Also, he's releasing "Mollena" as his new single this coming week. YESSSSSSS!
