To this day I dont understand why they shot this game in the foot. They ASSUMED we were bored with the status quo....while in reality the status quo was the best shit ever.... example #1 of dont fix what isnt broken. :( WoW nostaliga literally tears me up sometimes, there is NO REASON for what happened to this game.
Burning Crusade was the last best thing that happened to Warcraft, then the original, creative, dazzling minds that made Classic and BC come to life vanished to make Titan, leaving people that, although sharing the same passion, probably, didn't had that spark of brilliance the old school devs had.

I love the pipe organ building at about 3:20, and then the high strings coming in at about 4:20. Very dramatic climax. Then at 5:40, the creepy, shuffling sounds lead into the forboding low tones of Auchindoun - I miss BC and Shat and Terrokar, and flying through those zones questing. Such fun discovering all that. Great sounds!

@BlueSharingan01 It was Matt Uelmen, I believe, but ufortunately he does not work for Blizzard anymore. He wrote most of music for the TBC soundtrack.
Nostalgia is hitting me in the face heavier than a hammer, chills running through my spine, Pre BC and TBC was the best times, now it's just a horrible game with no immersion.
I remember lvling my warlock 3 days after tbc came out, I always listened to the music while lvling, I never had "normal" music playing while I was in tbc, cause of its awesome scenery and the incredible music. When WOTLK and Cata came out, it was different, something was, simply missing.
I love how all the Outland music is so closely related. This is like a darker, brooding version of the Nagrand music, mixed with some Hellfire bits. Stunning
Ok, my opinion is that TBC defenetly had the best zones in the whole of wow. But the questing just SUCKED! This is mainly because they dont seem to drive the story forward and phasing wasnt introduced yet. I liked the zones and the dungoens in TBC but the grinding for rep and quests was just awful. I like how WOTLK and cata gives cutscenes and dialog to keep the player interested, so I dont see the point of all the whining here bout cata and wotlk "ruining it all"
@Gazgo2 Quests are not fun to do in Outlands, but the zones themself are really nice, Wrath of the Lich King had some really awsome zones too, and the music was the best, but the raiding didn't live up to how awsome the raiding in BC was.
One of my absolute favorite bits of music from the entire WoW series. It brings back memories all right - 2am sessions flying through the trees on my way back to Shattrath. 3.20 to 5.15 is the best part.
Let's be completely realistic now. TBC was the best time in WoW. It was a bit more accessible while still keeping the challenge and WoW atmosphere. WotLK while being great really went downhill when ToC came out. TBC content still gets me emotional when seeing it or hearing the music. The only new music i like is Storm Peaks soundtrack and Grim Batol music. All TBC music is good though :P
the part around 3:50 reminds me of the times id be on my mount lvl 60 something headed towards shadowmoon valley and all the beautiful scenery is showing up. down the path with my mount and we dont know whats ahead.

Honestly the only content I miss is BC. People who pine for Vanilla are just being nostalgic for the days of yore, the content really wasn't that good, honestly. The only things good about Wrath were its leveling zones.

@petersrg2 Outlands gave an extrodonary feel, you weren't on Azeroth anymore you were basicly in an different world. Outland was unique and TBC aswell. But I like all expensions and vanilla. Wow is just a great game.

It makes me laugh when people say that WoTLK isn't as great at BC. BC had some stunning zones, yes, and the string and brass music is just amazing. However, I enjoy a lot of the WoTLK music more than a lot of the BC music, and this is coming from a big BC fan. The music is beautiful and well composed. Although not all the zones in WoTLK were the most appealing, they were put together well and were a little more realistic (with a fantasy touch, of course).
@DreamingRecluse Absolutely! Take for instance argent tournament music. Very professional thing! some people simply have no taste for music. for quality of it. IMHO wotlk music is more complex - and it's nice. The art can't be simple ;-)

@datura1983 Meh, I disagree. Cata may seem lacking in content due to how there aren't as many zones nor is it very hard leveling to 85, but bear in mind that they also did a complete revamp of the 1-60 areas, and many of the quests, visuals, activities and even music can be enjoyable. I also liked Wrath a little more than BC, and I loved BC when it came out :D However, I'm not so much a huge Cata fan. Doesn't feel as out of this world like Outland did, but that doesn't make it bad :D
what i love is how similar peoples perspective on this music is (those who love it) experience for me was how the light came off the trees and how if you fly all the way up into the sky the sunlight gets brighter and brighter. pure nostalgia. what makes this particular ambient piece so great is its such a slow build up to a beautiful explosion. worth the wait everytime
@c0mbineelite I don't think that will happen, not from me at least, WOLTK still sucks for me as cataclysm does.The Burning Crusade was awesome, it was something new innovative although i didn't get to spend much time as lvl 60 before that and i miss that but still is was an awesome expansion, until it started getting shittier and shittier at some point and then "puff" the fucking WOLTK comes :(.
I love the grand, almost horrific quality to the music that plays in the forest, and then the Bone Wastes music towards the end of this video is just chilling.
I listen to this before bed, it helps me sleep and brings back memories :)

@petersrg2 Outlands gave an extrodonary feel, you weren't on Azeroth anymore you were basicly in an different world. Outland was unique and TBC aswell. But I like all expensions and vanilla. Wow is just a great game.

It makes me laugh when people say that WoTLK isn't as great at BC. BC had some stunning zones, yes, and the string and brass music is just amazing. However, I enjoy a lot of the WoTLK music more than a lot of the BC music, and this is coming from a big BC fan. The music is beautiful and well composed. Although not all the zones in WoTLK were the most appealing, they were put together well and were a little more realistic (with a fantasy touch, of course).
I can't wait to hear Cata's music. >u<

@datura1983 Meh, I disagree. Cata may seem lacking in content due to how there aren't as many zones nor is it very hard leveling to 85, but bear in mind that they also did a complete revamp of the 1-60 areas, and many of the quests, visuals, activities and even music can be enjoyable. I also liked Wrath a little more than BC, and I loved BC when it came out :D However, I'm not so much a huge Cata fan. Doesn't feel as out of this world like Outland did, but that doesn't make it bad :D

what i love is how similar peoples perspective on this music is (those who love it) experience for me was how the light came off the trees and how if you fly all the way up into the sky the sunlight gets brighter and brighter. pure nostalgia. what makes this particular ambient piece so great is its such a slow build up to a beautiful explosion. worth the wait everytime

@c0mbineelite I don't think that will happen, not from me at least, WOLTK still sucks for me as cataclysm does.The Burning Crusade was awesome, it was something new innovative although i didn't get to spend much time as lvl 60 before that and i miss that but still is was an awesome expansion, until it started getting shittier and shittier at some point and then "puff" the fucking WOLTK comes :(.
