@redmanbin Well if you read the long but wonderfully written novel then you would appreciate the movie even more. This follows about 95% of the plotline in the book and truelly envisions what Stroker wants us to witness when we see Dracula. Only minor details are not in consideration. If you would like a classic vampire story based of the classic tale which struck the stone of the name vampire this is the movie for you.

@MrMaronias Van Helsing? Are you SERIOUS? There was too much overkill with the monsters in the movie. B.S. Dracula would have been 100% perfect if not for Keanu Reeve's accent. I think Dracula 2000 would have the edge over Van Helsing, especially with Gerard Butler looking downright JUICY.

I've read the book and the plotline of this movie has nothing to do with the Bram Stoker original. But, I'm not going to be all "HURR DURR IT'S NOT HOW BRAM STOKER WROTE DRACULA BLAH BLAH BLAH" and I'll give this movie a shot.

Anyway, it has Gary Oldman in it so it should be awesome. :)

I've just finished watching this movie and I have to say that is was terrible! It does not resemble the actual story at all! They somehow managed to turn it into a love story ( Dracula falling in love with Mina? Huh?) ! Vampires are supposed to be scary, they don't fall in love, that's a rule! Oh, and let's not forget the poor acting ... I hope one day I will get to see a decent adaptation of the book, which actually stays true to what Bram Stocker wanted to tell us trough it.

Coppola must've had nuts the size of bowling balls to attach Bram Stoker's name to this. It bears little resemblance to the actual story, and I have a hard time enjoying it even as the film that it is. Shame that Coppola couldn't make a decent adaptation of the amazing novel.
