at what point of the dowswing are you rotating the left wrist. It seems in the video this occurs after contact would have been made.this gets confusing in that nmany TGM teachers, who I have developed a single digit HC because of say the primary role of the left arm and hand is to hold on and form the straight arm position, while the right is hitting or swinging.could yuo clarify this.
@secretogolf it is a gradual rotation that starts early in teh downswing. For a good player this is a natural move. for a high to mid handicapper who either has an inverted release or a throw or flail (tgm), this has to be learned or trained. If you are holding of then you either have a flip which is not what I teach or you are going to hit pushes. the golfing machine calls this an angled hinge which is when the club face rotates to a toe up or slightly toe over position in the post impact pos.
@swingdr69 cont. , the forearms are rotating not just the wrists. if you have a flat left wrist at impact and are hitting the ball where you want it, then you don't have to worry about it. Keep doing what your are doing. Use the punch with a swivel, (golfing machine) to get to the same finish that you see in the video. thanks for the comment and I hope this helps
Question- Why bother rolling the left wrist, when if you simply throw the right shoulder/arm/hand,in a bent postion, doesn't this square up the left in a perfectly straight position.
@secretogolf thank you for the comment. Only if the club face is in a shut position or you were trying to hit a cut shot would this apply. The left wrist only stays flat for an instance before the forearms rotate on the swing circle. The wrist bone bows slightly as you strike the ball which delofts the club. I don't use the word throw in any of my teaching. Hope this helps and thanks for the view
