  • I know Shanis isn't truly country, but she's my favorite nonetheless. :) And most people nowadays aren't country anyways...but don't blame Shania.

  • This song is a tribute to country? Only about half of the artists shown are country and this song is totally not country at all. And the song, WOOF! Just calling oneself country doesn't make you country, this is just pop. There's no roots sound in it at all.

  • @NickLikesToSweepPick I see your a Hank III fan. That's all I need to know....

  • @davidn87 He's real music man.

  • @NickLikesToSweepPick Who here isn't Country according to you then?

  • @davidn87 The best example of what country is not on here is Carrie Underwood. It's bad enough that she sounds more like Madonna than Loretta Lynn, but the only reason she is where she is is because she won American Idol, and a game show is no way to be a true musician. The real guys are the ones who write their songs from life experience, not what producers tell them to just to sell more records. Others that are musical whores are Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Toby Keith, Shania Twain...

  • @davidn87 ...all these write (or have songs written for them) to sell records to a populous that doesn't really care that much about music, not to write something from the soul. Not to mention musically, there are no roots licks or tones to their music, remembering your roots literally and musically is a huge part of country music. And Hank III, while he may not be polished, still does it all himself, just like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and his grandfather did, like these new people don't.

  • @NickLikesToSweepPick Yes well you stay stuck in the past, I love it here in the present.

  • @davidn87 Liking traditional and neo-traditional art forms is not staying stuck in the past, I am a man of the present that has not forgotten where I came from, same goes for the music I like. You're saying that you love a present day "country" scene that all it really did was rob a whole other genre of its name and make music that would sell, not music that is good?

  • @NickLikesToSweepPick I like traditional Country too, why do you think this video's filled with past & present trad Country as well as other subgenres?

  • @davidn87 Because the new stuff that is considered "country" is all a marketing ploy for the masses, rather than about true music based on life experience. The new scene is all a puppet show. Don't get me wrong, I'm trying not to abuse those who like this new stuff, but for a lot of people that consider music a focal point in their life, such as myself, feel that artists like Carrie Underwood don't deserve the recognition that real songwriters should get. It's a big puppet show IMO.

  • @davidn87 Who is present traditional country?

  • @AaltoCT George Strait. Anyone who calls him pop is a fool.

  • @NickLikesToSweepPick Well said, agreed on all points. Hank III is a little rough around the edges but that is pretty country too. He is a rebel.

    LOVE HER !!!!!

  • shucks a mighty.

  • blake shelton? ashton shepherd? chuck wicks? julianne hough? martina mcbride? jack ingram? craig morgan? june carter?

  • We love it

    Dan and Sandy

  • I also wonder where Reba is.... hmm....

  • same...queen of country is missing here...hmmm...

    great vid tho!

Dolly rocks so do the other artisits tho;)

  • Reba is not worthy to be on this list.

  • good, but where is Reba??

  • Excelente video y canción. Congratulations on a very heart-felt tribute. I may agree that some names are absent, but let's face it, it's not all possible in three minutes. The good side is that there are country stars from today and yesterday...the tradition goes on and somebody is filling those shoes...or at least trying them on! I didn't know the song but I like it and I guess it shows what we feel when we "turn to country".

Muy buen trabajo! Saludos desde Uruguay.

  • We sell more country music in here in New York than the whole country together they said again on the radio, so where is the country music stations???? (corporations want to stress motivate people as some in the industry admit) so we all spend more on commercialism and forgetting our traditional ways ( look what happened, we don't trust any companies any more, no prayer in school? No fair share military time no more? Watch , it will make many people less responsible, & sadly, more people daily.

  • Awesome job!

  • Thank you :)

  • I have never listened to this song but I like this song and you have a wonderful voise

  • That's not me singing lol.

  • NEW country music owns :P

  • Oh noes. Tammy and Patsy need to be in this for it to be real country.

  • That only proves the Bible to be true once again. You know it does say in the end times there would be a big falling away.Everything the Bible says is coming to pass.

  • u r coerrct!!! u no ur bible...that wiil prove to be important all ur life!!

  • Well if you find that there is more evidence for a god than against, then I will say that you have not even begun to look into it. I am not saying that you should accept my opinion, I am only saying that I have read 4 excellent books in the last year that so convincingly demonstrate that there is no god, as well as demonstrate that christianity is only a cheap plagerism of earlier pagan death cults.

  • tim mcgraw!? Jason aldean!? faith hill!? rascal flatts!? haha

  • Wheres BRAD PAISLEY ????!!!!

  • Where's Carrie Underwood???????

  • Because you obviously know so much about these people and where they come from. Even if some of them don't have a complete education, singing for Jesus is better than half of what anyone else in the music industry sings about. Many of these musicians may be from smaller towns, but that's taught them a lot more than what you know about humility. Country music is some of the most truthful music around. The only one wasting energy here is you.

  • I think that you are an inconsiderate prick, funwithatheism. It's one thing if you don't like it, but that is your frickin opinion. You can keep that to yourself. Unlike yourself, we have beliefs in the Lord and we can appreciate real music when we hear it. Country artists not only tell stories with messages, they sing what they mean. Get over yourself, funwithatheism. I turn to country, and I turn to Jesus.

  • Since my comments do not require your approval, there is no need to keep them to myself. I am entitled to offer opinion, as are you. I did not see a requirement stating "positive comments only" on this post. That is my opinion of country music, and I am entitled to state as much.

  • You are what I consider a ignorant person. Someone that lacks knowledge and an open mind. I think Jesus enjoys listening to all people singing to him... even illiterate people...which she obviously is not...

  • "I think Jesus enjoys listening to all people singing to him"

Well selindah... What can one say really after a comment like that. Not only do you you believe in a make believe sky fairy, you claim to know what he enjoys listening to. How can you call others ignorant?

  • Just like you, I stated my opinion. Webster's dictionary defines ignorance as a condition of being uneducated, unaware, or uninformed. In my opinion your statement reflected all the above. As far as your "sky fairy" comment... there is more evidence pointing toward the existence of "higher power" than there is against it. I find religion very fascinating. I have a great respect for all religions. I can not however be open minded to not believing in some form of "higher power".

  • Why do can you not be an atheist? Have you ever tried to think outside you little box, where there is no "high power"... Just remember this, all the "high powers" you may know or believe are the imaginations of human beings.

  • What I would like to know is why atheist would be looking up "Christian" songs. Kind of ironic!

  • just because ur atheist doesn't mean you can't like the "Christian" songs and if ur talking about this song its not really "christian" its country im atheist and i listen to it all the time country music is not "Christian" music

  • Did you know? There wouldn't be any atheists

    if there was no God!

  • This continued from response to your post:I went to school with an exchange student that was atheist and at that time I was to immature to except or respect his beliefs. I am curious to know what your beliefs are. I am in no way trying to be disrespectful I would like to now have an educated discussion on "why a person does not believe that there is existence beyond death".

  • I love this song. I think it is great, It pretty much describes me so, yea.

  • Patsy! ...

  • Where's REBA!!!!! OMG! And Trisha??!!! June Carter? Brad Paisley? TAMMY!!! Please add the amazing artists instead of lesser artists like Catherine Britt?

  • No one can become great, like Reba or anyone els, if everyone has that attitude.

  • great video! i love the first comment cuz its so true. theyre not like some famous people they dont just sing about thier money and how sexy they are they sing about stuff that happens to people in real life and thats when music really helps people.

  • where's eric church?

  • Where's Randy Travis man?

  • My thought exactly

  • gret video I love many of the artists on that video!

  • Thanks.

  • I dont know about the newer artists but.....I do enjoy the classics, such as Johnny Cash, rosanne cash, Waylon Jennings, Ol'Merle Haggard, Charley pride, Hank williams, Loretta lynn. Classics will always be more enjoyable, in my opinion. they got a sound that cannot be reproduced.

  • Very nice job - 5*... I just turned to country too:) Thanks for the video response:)

  • Thank you.

  • carrie underwood is the best one

  • Can't disagree

  • it amazes me these days what passes as country music it seems if you wear jeans and sing about being lonley or breaking up then your a country star give me a break

  • So what? End of the day, it's great music. On the other hand, it surprises me to what actually gets passed off as MUSIC at all. What's with that EMO rap crap?

  • it aint all good music and yeah im suprised at what passes as music as well

  • Agree ... well said.

  • I didn't forget Tim, Faith or Keith. They aren't Country.

Reba, Randy & Trisha are all in my other videos. Reba is "Western Girls" and both her and Trisha are in "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls". Randy can be seen in "Ladies Love Country Boys".

  • This is SUCH a cool movie. I love country, and you have a lot of my favorite singers on your movie. Adding that to my favorites..... aaaaand... done ha ha, awesome job!

  • I love this song, but I miss reba!

  • ugh i do NOT like Faith Hill

  • you know, i'm a filipino but i actually crying when i listen to the sad country songs like songs of Kellie Pickler and Carrie Underwood.... i love them....

faith hill, martina and gretchen also sara and miranda are so good!!!!

but no one can beat dixie chicks' songs....

  • AweSome Video. I love country music. Kenny Chesney, Clay Walker, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Kellie Pickler, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambart, Trisha Yerwood, Andy Griggs, Alan Jackson, and much much more to list.

  • i think country music is most gentle and resentable of most if not all english spoken music country the music from the heart that connects the soul to its body

  • Thats AWESOME..Think you got everyone!!!!

  • amazing! I just missed Trisha, Faith and Martina...

  • Nice tune.

  • i've never heard this song either but i love it, and the vid!

Think you could maybe edit it tho and add Reba? it's just not the same without her! Glad to see you've got younger artists like Taylor Swift in there along with the legends like Dolly.

    Good Job!

  • Great job on the video, I love it! I have never heard the song before, but I love it too! But I think that maybe Reba McEntire, Josh Turner, Brad Paisley, could have been in the lineup? It was still awesome, though. Country rocks!

  • country will live forever

  • country is very soft and feels so real just love it so much

  • LORETTA LYNN!!!!!!!

  • i love this song. its very nice

  • i think country music is most gentle and presentable of most if not all english spoken music country the music from the heart that connects the soul to its body

  • Very beautiful, I love country music, above The Dixie Chicks, John Denver, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks and Johnny Cash. Thank you very much for this nice job!

  • COUNTRY MUSIC RULES !!! Neo-Traditinalists like Alan Jackson, Joe Nichols, Josh Turner are simply the best ! down with rock country and noisy metal stuff ! all bull !!

  • Don't go to snakefootak expecting a celebration of intellectual achievement.

  • I LOVED IT!!! AWSOME JOB ON IT

  • screw miranda lambert, kenny chesney, and the DIXIE CHICKS? geez man, you got more good actual COUNTRY artists than bad ones, glad to see Julie Roberts get some recognition but get rid of them others and make room for Tracy Lawrence, Daryle Singletary, and Joe Diffie

  • you missed a many........

REBA, PATSY CLINE to name a couple! come on......PC begot so many a female artist.... and REBA....oh please

  • No Reba McEntire?

  • Reba is in my "I Turn To Country II" and "Western Girls" videos.

  • where is Martina McBride, Thrisha Yearwood, Linda Ronstadt and so on :/ Missing a lot of true country stars.

  • A good many of those artists are not country; they're pop music artists.......which fits this pop tune. Kenny Rogers? Miranda Lambert? People that love country music don't even seem to know what it is.

  • Every one of the singers in this video are Country.

  • Not looking for an argument, but after working in the business for 27 years now I can tell you that a lot of pop sells on country radio. I think you probably have pop, americana, country, bluegrass, folk, the newer conglomocatchallsocalledtexasmusic, and several other genres confused with each other.

  • Oh I can't deny there are Pop stars getting success through and being promoted as Country (eg Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, etc etc) but that was the point of this video, paying tribute to the REAL Country singers that are out there and the legends of the past. See my video "Country Music Has The Blues".

  • I agree; Country shouldn't be "poppy"-Rocky Primarily (it's ok if it's mixed in once in a while, but its gotten outta hand). I like Country singers/Artists with a real old country fell such as Josh Turner, ect..

  • most people are unrealistic about what drives the industry...Money....hehe...hey buddy since you were in the industry for a while, Could you check out some of my videos and let me know what you think...I am quite good and yes more than my Mama has told me so...hehe...thanks buddy...have a great day...

    Sam Hyatt

  • Singing is (more or less) a secondary issue to stage presence and showmanship. You're not gonna get a "big break" with that video, you need a demo that's done professionally if you wanna get heard, then you have to be able to put your talent on stage. Nashville is an incredibly harsh place and it's full of terrible people.

  • Oh I know...I ran around with Steve Holy here in Dallas right up until 9 months or so after he signed with Curb, cuz we sang karaoke at the same places all the time. I picked the Blue Moon song for his first CD...hehe...I have been smoking for 18 years and really just trying to get opinions of my voice...based strictly on that, what do you think...? Well and maybe on looks too...hehe..I know how harsh and cruel things are...I have been thru the joke of Nashville Star

  • I watched untolled hundreds of extremely talented men and women go home crying, defeated because they didnt make it, not understanding that that show funnels fans...it finds one or two really good people, surrounds them with mediocrity, so they can predict where all the fans will be and guaranteed success with each artist that winns...Buddy Jewell and Chris Young really the only two valid talents to come outta that...

  • nashville star is a farce i agree, people down there want pretty boys, who have no say in the decicion making process.

I'm also a musician and i agree piss on nashville's way it's been that way forever and will always be.Johnny Cash Buck Owens Willie Nelson all had a hard time"breaking Through" do it your way or dont do it at all pal!dont sell out and be another toby Keith(very talented but sucking as to the man )

    KEEP IT COUNTRY

  • Well you guys all have some great advice....My "cover" song videos are all recent releases, if anyone wants to go in a request some good old stuff I will certainly do it...I can sang some Hank Jr and Sr....And if any of you could let me know what you think about my voice, it would mean alot to me....Thank you very much...And Mr. Georgeisupset...I will keep it country...Bye for now...Sam Hyatt

  • Where are Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette?, I can belive it that you forgot them.

  • Awesome video, but where are Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Martina McBride?

  • tim mcgraw is country dont say it any other way so is jimmy buffet but great video, great job and taylor swift all the way

  • Lets remember that its Hank Williams' "Hey Good Lookin" and that Jimmy Buffett just remade . Its agreeable though that Buffetts version is more listenable for todays audience than Hank Sr.'s orginal.
