Hey i have been DJing for a couple of months now, learned everything from scratch from this man, he is mint and the best dj tutor by far on the internet, please look on my channel and tell me what you think of my mini mix's, all feedback welcome as it will help me improve cheers
hörst du dich selbst gerne reden? spar dir deine scheiß videos. die haben soviel info wie ne gebrauchsanweisung von kopfschmerztabletten. möchte gern dj *lol*
I think the toughest thing would be to find a mentor, or teacher. I was lucky and there is an actual dj school in my city, so I'm taking that. I only started a few months ago but I've worked a couple school dance gigs as an assistant dj.
No you can use pre-power studio monitors. If you play in a club you just have to bring your mixer and records everything else is ready to go unless you are at a shit club/bar.
just listen to the radio and chek out what traks are being played resently and then loock for the tracks on the internet to download them or you can go to the music store
Thanks for all the responses. I didn't even realize E.Village posted these videos. Defiantly very Basic topics ;-)

HAHAHA. Buy the way this cat looks and talks you wouldn't think that he spins hip hop at clubs. Especially being as articulate as he is, not saying that most djs aren't articulate, but you would never think all of that comes into play with someone that spins music.
I think biggest concern about being a dj is buying/getting the equipment. The turntables and mixing boards can be expensive. But the speakers for the clubs can really put a dent in your wallet. I use to bounce at the clubs and I use to see djs that I believe use to have someone bring the sound equipment to the club for them. I think they use to rent the speakers, cause from the way they looked they were probably a few thousands of dollars
Once you've got equipment, though, the big thing is learning to read what the crowd wants to hear. I'm still working on that, and I only feel a little closer than I did when I started. I'm in a good place for it - my crowd is really picky. They won't take anything original or underground, at least until it hits the top 40 anyway.
My deam is to be a DJ...Maybe it seems weird, coz im a girl...but...I'm crazy for musicand i wanna make some, but i have nothing to make my dream come true =(
1:03 The best thing you can do is hook up with someone that is already familiar with the ends and outs of DJing.
The cheapest way (my opinion) is to buy a "DJ Control Surface" and M Audio Torq or Rane Serato. That should cost you about $550 and you can use your existing .mp3s on your hard drive to start mixing right away.
I have Technics 1200's, Torq and a small battle mixer. That costs about $1,500 BUT I choose to use real turntables. I can get a control surface for another $175 and be lazy.
what do people think about a DJ who doesn't use turntables?
