I don't understand what happened to the once great voice of Martha Reeves. On this 1978 recording you can hear that it is already leaving her. Now it is almost completely gone.
I once belonged to a Yahoo fan group for her & many of us left because when we made similar remarks like yours, we were trashed for it. Some people want to remain delusional and not accept the reality, I suppose, insisting that she sounds just like when she started..,LOL.
Martha is indeed a legend. But it's true that her voice has not been the same in many years.
