  • Emm dave is it true that upgrading the RAM make the computer died?

  • I just upgraded the one in my acer aspire 532h to 2gb....but I used a 6400, 800mhz ram instead...it worked just fine...didnt have to change bios..or anything...windows 7 starter recognizes it and everything.

  • Thank you. It served as a reference.

  • Thanks for the video. Doing the upgrade really was as simple as you show.

  • I would love to know how to upgrade the hard drive

  • Hi I have the same computer could please help , my screen was crack so used on a big monitor it till order a new LCD and I try to instal it and my laptop stop working . It powers on but it not running to work .. Help I need my acer to work I have acer aspire. One 532h thank you

  • Did the games will run better???

  • Thank you so much for this video

  • thank you so much! this was very very helpful. :)

  • Hey, man. I got a question for you. I have considered buying this exact model of the acer aspire. I was wondering two things. Since you just put in 2G of memory, does it allow you to put the full version of windows 7 vs. the starter version it comes with? I was told that the ''complete'' version windows 7 will only work if there is at least 2G of Memory. Also, does this netbook have the ability to play dvds with just windows 7 starter if you have the dvd drive or do you need the full version?thx

  • @guitarmaster600 i have the same model without the ram upgrade running windows 7 home premium. so to answer your question you CAN run windows 7 home premium on 1gb of ram... also in my opinion its faster.

  • @lunchboxpictures Thanks, man.

  • @guitarmaster600 no problem just make sure you get the upgrade from anytime upgrade its only $90 as opposed to$250

  • @lunchboxpictures ya i have windows 7 ultimate on the same laptop if anybody want the anytime uprade key just add a comment to my page and ill give it to you so i have the same netbook and i have windows 7 ultimate and it works great

  • Haha. You're Good man. Does upgrading the memory helps also when you're playing online games? for gamers? thanks

  • Thank you! You rock for doing this. I bought my 2G online and did not want to leave the house and go to Best Buy to pay the Geed Sqad. Thank you!

    Kim

  • Hey, you are my hero! What a nice guy to put a YouTube video on after you did all the research! You saved me a trip to Best Buy. Got my 2Gs online and did not want to take a trip to insert the card. Thank You! KT

  • Can you link to where you bought the memory? I want to make sure to get the correct one. Thank you.

  • Hi Dave - Thanks for this. Not sure if you're checking comments these days, but I hope so because I have a question: Are you running Windows 7 Starter on this netbook? (I got mine from Costco and that's the OS it has.) Again, thanks.

  • Thanks for posting. I have read in several other places that after changing the ram, we would have to change the 'bios'? That many have not been able to get the added ram to work without doing that. Not a techie here, would you have instructions on performing that as well? Would really be appreciated. Thanks!

  • thanx a lot for the info, gonna save me sometime from looking all that info up.

  • Thanks a bunch

  • Thank you, this worked for me, perfect instructions. My only addition is the manual recommends you remove the battery before pulling the RAM,

  • Thanks there, good instructional video

  • I don't think, that the netbook will boot up after replacing to 2GB, cause producer says that 1 GB is MAX...

  • @BigTcz there are other acer 532h with 2gb max memory. it depends on the manufacturer, as posted in support.acer.com. it's the manufacturer option. Maybe those with 250gbharddrives can be upgraded to 2gb mem

  • can anyone help me? after i replaced the DDR2, my netbook wont startup, the screen stays blach the whole time,, and when i but back the original 1GB memory, it works again.

  • can anyone help me? after i replaced the DDR2, my netbook wont startup, the screen stays blach the whole time,, and when i but back the original 1GB memory, it works again... also i noticed when i changed the memory back to 1GB the card was hot..?

can anyone please help me with this?

  • @WGHWAITING I am not the creator of the video, however i do know quite a bit about the aspire one. a couple things. #1) make sure youre using a PC2-5300 667mhz and nothing else. this is the only ram that is compatible with the computer. #2) NO MORE THAN 2 GB. #3) some models of the 532h don't come with the correct bios for more ram... go to the acer website and download the right ones for more ram.

  • We need more people like you on youtube :) ty, u helped alot. i liked and subbed, i am looking forward to see more videos from oyu on your netbook because im buying it lol

    Keep it up

    Dan

  • update the bios in order to recog the new RAM. I did this on my AO 532H Windows XP. Go to website and look up your computer and under drivers and downloads there is a "BIOS" tab. Dwnload the file and unzip You will see a NAV50122 setup folder. Click on that and it will give you an install screen and Restart twice to ensure installation. Then I shut the computer down to complete the update. Takes a while to shutdwn as things are overwritten.I used a Kingston 2GB PC2-6400 CL5 200-PIN SODIMM

  • does upgrading the memory help with editing HD videos and make the computer run faster (not including the internet)?

  • @igeralddayawon I don't do editing of videos so no clue. However, doubled RAM makes the computer much better all around.

  • Very nice vid but How many Pin is this memory? I can't seem to get it right I've ordered 2 already and they both don't fit right. Any help would be appeciated

  • dose it have to be PC2-5300

    or can it be PC2-6400

  • You are great. What is the highest memory you can buy.

  • @Jetman012 Max memory the Acer Aspire One Model 532h can use is 2 GB.

  • @Jetman012 2BG is max this computer can use.

  • thank you SO MUCH! I too spent hours researching (and not finding) any info on where the ram was located. I just upgraded as per your directions and it works! :-)

  • Your my life saver, thanks man....
