Thats the trouble these days, in the old days the so called "weaker" Div 1 teams could..on their day, beat anyone. thats why the old Div 1 will always be better than this premier league, anyway with the pound weaker see all the foreign player leave in droves!
ive tried to explain down the years to my sons , how we were a quality side and on our day we could beat the best of them as this vid shows... here we are again facing man u boxing day i hope this is the start of a new era at stoke where we can hold our own in the best league in the world..CMON STOKE CMON STOKE!!!!!!!
Great to see Jimmy Greenhoff in action again. He would have been a superstar in the Premiership now. i saw him play for Birmingham City in the late 1960`s.
great player,in those days there were always upsets, now its all money and ruined the game

70's football, where if you had 1 or 2 foreign players it was a novelty, British national teams fared better also, for that reason.

british national teams fared better then? scotland did ok but england failed to qualify for 74 and 78 world cups.
