  • I actually do wonder how many rapists and pedophiles are religious, or more specifically, christians. Since they are so keen in demonstrating how "good" and "moral" they are, and trying to state that anyone who does not have an old book telling them what to do, obviously has no moral and therefore may rape and murder as much as *he wants. ...well...

Also, in fact, there are those stating that for example miscarried children deserved to die, since they "committed sins while in the womb". O_o

  • well said.

  • Deeply touching and well argued. I'll have to buy that book! Keep up the good work!

  • The "entirety of atheism" on this subject is grossly deficient and illogical. What an absurdly flawed premise you assert. Even non-theistic forms of philosophy do not illogically assert that the many tragedies of human existence are the logical result of impersonal, but intentional naturalistic forces. You proceed very unreasonably here conflating all manner of religious beliefs & blatantly distort the faith suppositions of western monotheism specific. "How else to understand.."- have I read JOB?

  • God has put us through bad times. A god who asks for nothing and promises a perfect world, isnt real. A god who asks for nothing but put you through times that need to be overcome, is a true god.

  • Part two: However, natural disasters are going to continuously occur because of the mistake we made at the beginning of time. I'm not trying to force Jesus down anyone's throat, but I would appreciate if someone looked at the other side of the spectrum. It makes sense, you just have to believe, which is understandably hard. No disrespect for anyone, nor am I singling anyone out.

    Cheers, GenerationXeroFilms.

  • Part one: People use God for all sorts of INSANE things. They used Jesus for an excuse for the crusades, and evidently Hitler used it for the Holocaust. We live in a flawed world, which is the result of Eve's mistake. Hurricanes didn't used to happen, but now they do. God created us and gave us free will out of his charity, but we messed that up. If we all truly believed and carried out God's will, these horrifying things you speak of like child abduction would not be occuring.

  • @reidski182 He is said to be an all-knowing god, therefore he knows all that has been, all that has ever will happed and everything. This means he places humans on this world knowing exactly how they will live their lives and whether or not they will sin.

My question is, why would this all-powerful, all-loving god put souls on this planet knowing they will burn an eternity in hell for something they had no control over.

  • @DeadlyPear Why did your parents have you, if they knew you would be naughty at some point?

  • @reidski182 Because, it is encoded into our very fucking genome to survive and reproduce.

  • @DeadlyPear Lol, I wonder where genome came from. Anyways, God created the world, and us, so he could share his happiness and glory, and probably get some praise. However, I believe, to enjoy this happiness, we had to be given free will. However, because another spiritual being named Satan believed he could take control, he took part in messing up our free will. God didn't intend for things to be this way. Free will is free will.

  • @reidski182 Except there is no such thing as free will, only the illusion. No matter how hard you try to deny it, every single action we do is decided by outside influences, not us.

  • @reidski182 damn, sorry my last response was so badly phrased, i deleted it. basically DNA is made of nitrogen bases, sugars, phosphates to hold them together. simple as that.

  • @quzishen I was thinking more of, how did the genome come to exist? You can't destroy matter, but you can make it appear from nothing? Meh :/

  • @reidski182 scientists don't know how matter can spontaneously appear either, but they have observed it happening and documented it in articles. usually matter doesn't stay as it is eliminated by anti-matter.

  • @quzishen Well I understand that, and it probably has something to do with conditions being right. However, in the beginning, what conditions were there to be right? It was nothing, which is an understandably hard concept to grasp. You might argue, "well where did God come from?", but to that, I have to say, God is not physical matter. Beyond that, I can't give much of a better answer. But I'm more satisfied with the Christian answer than the atheist perspective.

  • @reidski182 i'm not arguing against your beliefs, I'm just trying to explain particle physics, and failing at it...but matter just spontaneously appears in space. and there's no specific conditions, and hasn't been explained, at least not what I'm aware of

  • @quzishen Word. And I thank you very much for being respectful. Everyone has their 2 cents, and it all deserves to be said. Cheers.

  • Christ, I recognized some of those photos from when they where taken. I have always wanted to adopt a girl and raise her with the idea that the world is a place to explore and improve.

  • As a New Orleanian, this makes me happy you talked about this.

  • @AtheismKills Dawkins spoke from a position that science hasn't yet given us deep answers to moral dilemmas like this one. He wasn't advocating what Hitler did, only that science has no say in the matter yet.

Neuroscience opens up the field of a "science of morality". Hopefully one day people like Sam Harris will be able to speak with scientific evidence that what Hitler did was truly "wrong", and not empty beliefs.

  • @AtheismKills and the fact that for hundreds of years after the spread of Christianity, people were taught that Jews drank Christian blood, or the fact that Hitler's scientists had the audacity to reject "Western biology" to pursue his odds and ends had absolutely nothing to do with Jewish distrust or persecution? Right. Makes perfect sense. No, Hitler combined religious notions of Jewish racism with faith, dogma, and eugenics (over glorified animal husbandry).

  • I am ostracized, hated, have been called names, ignored and belittled because I am an atheist. I have lost friends, and have lost communication with family members due to my disbelief in their god. Perhaps one day this will change and I won't feel so alone when everyone around me is praying and worshiping a god.

  • @forlorndivinity Really? I may disagree with your viewpoint but I totally condemn such atrocious behaviour. Just because people disagree is no excuse for hatred or ostracizing one another. I enjoy having a good argument with my atheist friends, usually over a few beers. Its a lot more interesting than if everyone agreed on everything. Imagine how boring that would be! God is probably a lot more angry at your hypocritical friends and family than He is with you.

  • I recall listening to Sam Harris on the christian God saying, All that your God doesn't accomplish in the lives of millions of people all over the world the women getting raped, a child dying of starvation , yet God is so good because he makes you feel good in church. God is so good he made it so that I got a job when we needed. All that your God doesn't accomplish in the lives of millions it is intellectually dishonest.

  • god had an hang over from party the night prior, so, he couldn't hear their prayer.

  • if we lived in a world where no one died, this planet would be intolerable to live on. Then athiest would blame God for that. The irony in this is that if you want to live in place with no death or suffering, you have to believe in God to get there. It's called Heaven.

  • @WDW2000 That was a terrible argument.

  • @TylerEightString No, it was a brilliant argument. Atheists blame God for everything. When its sunny, Atheists blame God. When it rains, Atheists blame God. When someone else uses their free will to harm others, Atheists blame God. When someone asks them to be considerate and not do something that will harm others, Atheists blame God.

  • @AtheismKills lol. It confused me at first

  • @WDW2000 Stupid argument.

  • Brilliant.

  • This was an interesting and informative video, with well thought out statements. It's always great to see someone with intellectual faculties capable of sorting fact from what's essentially an extended sue-fic.

Atheists shouldn't have to validate their "beliefs." The burden of proving or disproving the existence of god should be on those who insist that their is a benevolent force watching over mankind, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

  • Love it! Great job. Keep it up!

  • You deserve a lot more viewers, great videos.

  • I find your videos very interesting and insightful. Sometimes it's good to vent while conveying a message. PROPS!

  • Splendid video.

    Thanks.

  • There is no point in fighting about this even if the bible wasnt created people would be having a war over an oddly shaped rock that looks like a penis humans will blame everybody but themselves if its not the devil its god or the media or the taliban or black people and mexicans or taxes the people who have killed in the name of the bible are no different then the guy who killed lennon if God is real or if he isnt dosnt change how stupid and violent mass group of people can be

  • @Atheismkills

Also, your idea that the Holocaust was a result of secularism is patently false.

Hitler believed he was doing the Lord's work, a result of hundreds of years of religious blood libel against the Jews that managed to slowly infect the political stability of the region, backed up by "science" that, as practiced by the Germans, every bit as faith-based and dogmatic as religion. Go get an education.

  • @falcon12687 Hitler claimed that in one line in Mein Kampf. Its called propaganda. He also called Christianity a Jewish plot. Why did the Nazis emerge in secular Germany instead of Catholic Italy or Poland? Why was Catholic Italy the safest place for Jews in Continental Europe during WW2? The Nazis were inspired by Darwin and Nietzsche. You're the one who needs educating.

  • @AtheismKills And you have heard of the Reich Concordat and the Lateran Treaty, haven't you? Or about the affirmation Pacelli gave Hitler in March 1939 just before being crowned Pius XII? Or the gala Pius XII held for Hitler on April 12, 1939? And yes, this is the same Pacelli who showed his cards with his "Jewish cult" comments in 1917.

I don't doubt that some brave Catholics became safe havens for Jews but this is a lot of papal support and influenced a mass conversion in Germany (1/2 of pop)

  • @falcon12687 Why was the Holocaust carried out by Germany, the most secular country in Europe, rather than devout Poland. Hitler LIED. He admitted that he had to deceive people early on, but once in power was more open about his secularism and hostility to religion. Nazi hatred for Jews was based on Jewish influence in education and the arts as well as Jewish involvement with international communism. Hitler saw Jews as being disloyal to Germany. He also hated Catholic Poland.

  • @AtheismKills You're a lying douchebag of the first order, to use something like the holocaust as a means to claim your religions moral superiority is morally vacuous and disgusting. Hitler hated secularism on the same grounds you do, claiming that one could not have morals without religious foundations, in his eyes as bad as godless communists. He hated Poland because they had been given a strip of land that cut Germany off from the sea after WW1, not because they were catholic. You lying shit.

  • @falcon12687

How can anyone take them seriously with that username.

  • @Atheismkills

Are you insane? Atheists have morals - they just don't rely on bronze and iron age texts to draw them from, they rely on reason and philosophy rather than moral absolutes.

And the claim that an atheist would just give up on life? Why would an atheist, knowing that this was the one life he was getting, just give up? I say he'd fight harder, since he's not banking on an afterlife.

  • The argument of Theodicy has been answered, most ably by philosopher Alvin Plantinga.

If God didn't allow evil, we wouldn't Free Will.

  • Yes, its terrible that people die. But at least Theists have hope that death is not the end. Besides, religion actually helps us in this life. Of course 80% of Katrina survivors will have a stronger faith in God. Why not? They're not going to give up on life like Atheists do. There is nothing precious about life according to Atheism. It is just a meaningless accident. The Saved aren't narcissistic, we just value life.

The Holocaust happened because of Secularism in 'Enlightened' Germany.

  • @AtheismKills

The holocaust happened because of 1900 years of Jew hating led by the Catholic church. Learn your European history. Hitler signed a pact with the Vatican and the only Catholic Nazi who was excommunicated was Goebbels, not for his part in the slaughter of murering 6 million Jews but for marrying a Protestant. Fine example of religious morals eh?

  • @AtheismKills

Hitler banned atheist groups in Germany, now you can lie and distort as much as you like but trying to blame atheism for Hitler and the holocaust doesn't wash. I've decided that you're not worth taking seriously, you're friends with shockofgod and your username has no basis in fact. I smell a troll and I'll avoid this particular bridge from now on.

  • @UnknownUserName4267 Hitler only banned atheist groups that were communist or otherwise friendly to Jews. The Nazi party was full of atheists including Martin Bormann (Hitler's right-hand man) and the leader of the Hitler Youth.

  • Comment removed

  • @AtheismKills

It was full of Christians, what's your point? The majority of the soldiers carrying out genocide were Christian. Again, what's your point?

You're an idiot, atheism doesn't kill and neither does religion. People kill.

  • @UnknownUserName4267 "What’s to prevent us from saying Hitler wasn’t right? I mean, that is a genuinely difficult question" - Richard Dawkins

  • @AtheismKills When asked in an interview, “If we do not acknowledge some sort of external [standard], what is to prevent us from saying that the Muslim [extremists] aren’t right?”, Dawkins replied, “What’s to prevent us from saying Hitler wasn’t right? I mean, that is a genuinely difficult question. But whatever [defines morality], it’s not the Bible. If it was, we’d be stoning people for breaking the Sabbath.”

Somehow, I think you took it out of context. Duh.

  • @kozinc When has any Christian society ever stoned someone for breaking the sabbath? Dawkins comes up with another cretinous comment proving himself no better than an ignorant yet arrogant 12 year old.

  • @AtheismKills The Pope is Catholic and you know what he did? Told everyone in Africa that wearing condoms increases the spread of AIDS. Religion is no way to start a basis on morality. Try to say you have good morals after reading Deuteronomy 22:28-29 and Deuteronomy 22:24

  • @horndog646 We need more Catholic babies to out-breed you Atheists! ;D

  • @AtheismKills No we don't

  • Pathetic. Everyone is going to die someday. Atheists do not share any belief regarding morality, Atheism is merely a stance on the existence or non-existence of God. Some Atheists murder children, so they could hardly share belief that child murder is wrong.

Why should Theists or anyone for that matter be obliged to provide anything? And nice try on associating 90% of the World's population with UFO and Elvis nuts. Sam Harris is a joke.

  • Well done. Thank you.

  • MUST PROMOTE

  • I think you mean 7 billion human beings (not 6). The religious nutcases have been breeding like bunnies, except they're not as innocent or as cute. :(

  • @Portocala15 Hey! I'm damn cute I'll have you know! ;D

Anyway, I've got to get back to breeding some more religious babies ;-)

  • @AtheismKills

More like religion kills.. And I can back that up if you want to disagree...

  • @AtheismKills Your humbleness and sense of humour is truly inspiring!

  • @Portocala15 *are* sorry...

  • @Portocala15 Well actually I know a lot of pretty hot Christian girls but there sure not innocent!

  • @nasaandspacerock Then they're not true christians. Or maybe they didn't read that part about non-virgins being punished by stoning... How convenient.

Besides, I said 'cute', not 'hot'. ;)

  • "... boundless narciciscm..." excellent

  • God does not cause suffering. He merely tests us to insure that we are indeed faithful. We should all be grateful that these people have been spared from these disasters, and that their belief has been strengthened. It is truly by God's good will that these people can survive through such hardships.

Ugh... I feel stupider for having written that.

  • @killerkerara READING IT GIVE ME BRAIN DAMAGE

  • Sam Harris's best philisophical arguments are the ones left in the toilet. The man maybe intelligent at something, but it sure isn't a good logical argument.

  • @johhnycarlos , Sam Harris is the man, what are you talking about?

  • @gskowal How so? How he got a BA in philosophy is beyond me.

  • @johhnycarlos , keep trolling...

  • @gskowal Keep trolling? What? Have you heard Sam Harris's arguments? Because there is pedophilia there is no God, or God is not good.

  • @johhnycarlos , I don't like to feed the trolls... Keep reading maybe one day you'll understand his arguments. He is way ahead of your league...

  • Great job, again!

  • Good read.

  • Every 40 seconds; over 2100 per day; 800,000 children go missing each year.

False Alarms: 117 Amber Alerts are family abductions generally caused by custody disputes. 48 Amber Alerts where children had not been abducted and were either lost or had run away. 23 Amber Alerts were issued in cases where police didn't know the name of the allegedly abducted child caused by misinformation by witnesses. Only 70 of 233 Amber Alerts in 2004 were actually children taken by strangers.

  • Your Friend!

  • FANTASTIC!

  • nicely done......subbed

  • Well thought out, and your points are valid. I truly enjoyed watching this, keep up the good work.

  • This was a fantastic video

  • That was excellent!

  • Great video
