Band members have come and gone, and all the singers were great - the songs of Metal Church live on and Vanderhoof has pretty much been the heart and soul of the band's sound and songwriting. My band played with them last year and I got to catch them live. They played all the great songs one after another, and some cool new ones too. Totally kick ass band, and one of teh most underrated metal bands of all time. Looking forward to the new stuff!

The name came from Kurdts old apt in San fran. that they all played at and called it the metal church. The singer writes most of the lyrics and Kurdt writes the music. They write about things we all can identify with work, money, politics, war.they have alot to say if you just listen. Great talented guys that have stayed true to their music. Ronny Munroe is an excellent frontman. Who cares about original line up vs current line up?? Should'nt it be about the music..the here and now!

Well, I loved Cowboys, but the albums after that sucked in my opinion. Mainly because Phil stopped singing and changed there tone (which isn't always a bad thing, you have to change eventually otherwise you'll just start copying yourself)... I just happened not to like it. I also liked a couple of there "hair" metal songs too like Over and Out and Rock the World, i think that's the name.  But hey, they made a huge impact on metal and I can't take that away from them.
