I really wanted to see kung fu(the weapons part) vs kendo, i do kung fu and my friend kendo, i just started the gun(the staff) and i find so impressive my teatcher's speed! I think i could beat him (my friend) with the staff but im a lot faster, if someone knows some fight or even train both leave a comment :) ( in case someone says a staff could never fight a katana because it would get cut remember that a staff can be protected with steel or iron)

I may just be used to observing a high standard of kendo (or at least a polite kind where we respect our opponant) but all of the fighters showed extremely poor form.

At 2:43 6:10 6:42 and 7:32 their shinai should have been knocked away! Not only is it rude and arrogant, it's downright stupid.

u know a real samurai fight last less than 15 seconds normal samurais killed in about 5 seconds so they had 2 change it in hollywood 2 make it longer and kendo isnt suppose 2 be samurai fights it is entertainment so 5 seconds fight u tend 2 lose interest after u see about 8 of them...

It's not supposed to be just entertainment. It's a sport, different but, derived from traditional sword fighting. There's a lot more to it than just being entertained.

But yeah, for sure, I can't imagine Samurai standing there for 15 minutes with swords making little slices... They killed enemies in a flash. That's what Dodge/Slash is all about.
