  • As dear to my heart as this clip is, it features an inexcusable number of white people dancing.

  • god bless youtube, best version of this song, i love it and im only 85!!

  • This concert is definetly their last one ! What a state of grace in drums, guitar, singing ! After that I felt so lonely... ;-)

  • Yo!!

  • im gonna make a time machine so i can co back and see that concert :D

  • salami!

  • Amo The police BRASIL

  • Stewart Copeland Rules

    Stewart Copelando for president

  • @luisjavier22 He's American, that'd be a very real possibility.

But, if not possible...Neil Peart for President! We'll make an exception of citizenship!

  • Stewart Copeland is The Police band lider! Brazil loves you man; you should been

    born im Brazil.rs Estudio RDP

  • Great this version of so Lonely, people in Brazil love so much The Police band!

    Estudio RDP -Brasilia-D.F. Brazil

  • stewart copeland-- the god of drummers!

  • stewart copeland fnds a beat that wasnt even there ...

  • Copeland!!!!!!!!!!!Amazing!!!!!!!!

  • I followed theses guys around for this tour, never did they disappoint. Very high energy show. Stewart is a huge part of that whole vibe with his sick up tempo beats.. The are the best threesome ever!!!!! If only they had stayed together, such a short run, damn they were good.

  • Grandissimi POLICE!

  • Simplemente impresionante!!!

  • Dowwnload the audio from this vid at thetunify doht cohm.

  • Sting truly was too full of himself for this tour, which I think must have been 1983, the year of Synchronicity.

He was never as good The Police, and I've never forgiven him for breaking them up (and I'm sure he weeps at night knowing this).

  • OMG!!! Thanks for this!!! I am the guy with the embarrassing bow tie between 4:08 and 4:12. It was the 80's after all. Whoa, the memories!!!!!

  • The best version!!

  • great song hate the back up singers, totally unecessary Mr. Sting man.

  • why is it that i have to turn my volume up to 50 to clearly hear copeland's and summers' voices through the mics? f*** the backup singers all you need is them

  • All very unique drummers who served their given music in an inventive and ultimately iconic fashion. No need to make it a silly competition. They were/are all brilliant.

  • 1:55.....great!

  • @HughStirling Those are different kinds of styles - that appeal to different tastes. Stewart is playing over music that allows for a lot of improvisation. But it is his improvisation that is what we love.

  • Cool ENDING!

  • Copeland tiene onda y le pega increible a la bateria, yo aprendí bateria por él.

  • what an amazing band...

  • Bands like this are just not born anymore ..man it's either gothic shit or rap crap

  • this is NOT 2003....try 20 yrs before that.......(1983!!)

  • @hazor777 7yeah i dont know them that well and im thinking, hmmm i coulda sworn that sting looks very young here and that this is way to good to be a new performance

  • stew copeland is a beast on drums!

  • @jtschieffelin AGREED 110%!!!!

  • I love the change up on this song...awesome!!! One of my favorite songs by these guys-POLICE, ya!!

  • Ah....the glory days...at their best.....Stewie at his best!

  • That Stewart Copeland. He's too good. Although he can't help but to wear short shorts during live performances. But it's the '80's.

  • They must have gone into the studio and touched this one up becuase this is a lot better than the other live versions floating about.

  • Stewart great drummer, poss most joyful drummer I've ever seen, killer.

  • Greatest band of all time

  • andy!!!!

  • The show was in '83, at the now defunct Omni(torn down and replaced with Phillips Arena) I was there

  • @67tbrook

correct. It was a great show. I was there!

  • @67tbrook

I was too. Look for me at 4:08-4:12 with the 80's bow tie!!!

  • @davo422 that guy ate some monkey bread, lolol

  • you win cookie!!

  • Yes! Stewart is a great drummer! but he was " influenced by jazz " he doesnt necessarily "influence jazz drummers" He is influenced by Jazz and Reggae and uses those beats and fills in his playing.

  • What year was this concert?

  • @killersammy1 March of 1984

  • well Stuart and Sting did argue a lot back in the days its true and it led to there break up ...but guess what ,it happens all the time with bands ,it happend with my band ..

  • lol joke right?

  • THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING! I was looking everywhere for this version.....One of Andy's best guitar playing live!....Thank you so much!!!!

  • LOS MAS GRANDES

  • dios santo que energía...

  • omg they're so gay when they start dancing with the girls xD greatest band 79-86(84) no doubt about it.

  • I was referring to cobydick80's comment ;)

  • "...on the drums...Stewart Copeland!!!!!"

    the best of all drummers.....

  • Stewart Copeland is with Neil Peart the only rock drummers who has influenced jazz drummers.

a charleston playing very rare, an incredible groove and sound. without him Police isn't the police, his style is so unique that he is a very important part of the police identity.

right, he's a very very good drummer and a really important musician.

  • yea i also agree that him and neil are 2 of the most well rounded drummers. they play jazz rock pop reggae and thats just what they like to play they can probably play anything. my two favorite drummers

  • @ketdugraal Don't forget about Bonham influencing Tony Williams

  • @cobydick80

After Danny Carey and Herb Alexander. :-)

I love him, though. Brilliant musician.

  • @cobydick80 Both Copeland and Peart in my book!

  • @cobydick80 Neal Peart

  • Good Shit!

  • lol at the dancing

  • just imagine playing the concert night after night ... bare hands on the drum sticks .... nightmarish

  • I don't know how most rock drummers do it.

They must have major cuts, blisters, etc. on their hands all the time.

  • drummers build up calouses (sp?)...it's not a problem ;)

  • Even so. The hands eventually give up lol.

  • andy summers one of best guitarist in all time.

  • why nonsense?

  • as im watching this, im realizing this video is over 25 years old! gosh im getting old!!

  • Thirty to be exact. For comparison, this woule be like me watching an old Frank Sinatra film from 1949 back then. And I'd still feel OLD.

  • It's amazing. Stewart is always completely on beat, while playing violently or calmly. I don't know if it was a gift he was born with or just years and years of perfecting his skill. I do know that he was at his peak at Synchronicity tour.

  • youhou énorme version, génial ! great cover, huge public ! it gives me chills, each time ^^ vive the police !

  • sting, summers and copeland. the perfect combination ,god bless u guys . long live the police, arriba peru lol

  • 1000 thanks to yuuyagon !!!!

This is the greatest live performance i have ever seen of "so lonely"

Unfortunately i was born in 1975..

I would sell my grandma is i could have been there...

  • semplicemente bellissimo

  • Thanks a lot yuuyagon!!!!

Long time looking to see this video again, and finally here it is.

For me, Best Live Song Ever!!!!

    Keep on!

  • One of my favorite live versions, missing from youtube recently. Thanks for uploading!
