How did your udu react to the water u've put inside ? I've the same at home but the interior of the udu seems strange and i dont know how this fiberglass will react to water ... I didnt notice there was a udu made for filling liquid with it .. do someguy have this one ? How is the interior?

So how long have you had your UDU drum and how is it holding up over time ?

Did you put water in it yourself ? because that's not the Meinl model with the water, it's the Meinl Fiberglass Tri ibo drum model # ID3G0.

I know because i bought the same one.

The Fiberglass Liquid one is the ID9bk/WH and has a black and white faded finish.

Sounds great none the less but it's not the liquid model, you must have added the water to it...am i right ?

Yes, i added water myself. The Meinl model with the water appeared on their store some months after i posted this video to the Meinl website.

OHHH dude they stole your idea ?, this video's dated, compare it to the release of there liquid model and take them to court.

Even i almost bought the Liquid model but i felt the Trio with the Rawhide skin added more sound variations to it.

I think if there making money on your idea you should get a piece of that.

this effect is kind of hard to achieve, really depends on particular venue, boxes and soundtech, not really on the water.

how it souds as long as you have the hand in the hole? Making resonances with the microphone isnt it? And does it have water in? My udu doesnt make all those sounds, makes some but not all. Help please

Mine is lways loosing it's tension. There is no way to hit it without detuning it sooner or later!

I tried a lot of different (leather)cords to keep it fixed. How is yours fixed?

Nice work! I thought of adding water to this drum awhile back, and even posted the idea on the Meinl website a few years ago. One question: Do you have a way to avoid having the water's humidity detune the rawhide head?

i wrapped the mic by the piece of normal plastic bag and that keeps it dry.

Does the water give it that sustain or is there something I'm not seeing? Also, how do you get a good miced sound on your udu? I always have to sacrifice something when I mic mine. Maybe mine is just no good. It's an LP Utar.
