Phyllis was describing most of these artists today, who are packaged, bought, and paid for by the music industry, and can't sing a lick or hold a note to save their life. The "here today, gone tomorrow, one-hit wonder" routine in other words. And for a true artist of Phyllis Hyman's caliber who had honed her skills and talent as a vocalist, I can see why she was pissed off by that. Her music, like her spirit, is eternal and will live forever.
She Will Always Be In My Heart , Chart And Living Inside Of Me …Perhaps Cuz I'm experiencing what she did at the time But mostly For Her So Being So UNIQUE!
Sadly I do feel so related to her all the aspects I've being a CRAZY Follower of P.Hyman since her first album… collecting hundreds of vinyl of , funk, soul, jazz, disco Phyllis is in my 10000records collex all of album. The special thing is that her sound, lyrics, the way she would emphasize throughout her special way to sing and express herself (live and on recorded album) what she did really feel
to the point of even crying while performing live too.
Without debate........Phyllis Hyman was 1 of the most supremely gifted vocalists, MALE or FEMALE..........of this generation. To say that this woman could flat-out sing is really not enough.........she was absolutely BLESSED. We, the public, were just as blessed that she was able to share her "Gift" with us.
I love this woman, Phyllis reminds me of the song, by Incognito - "Never knew a rose and turn a shade of blue". That is a song I would like to sing to Phyllis if she was alive. Phyllis and Vesta
WOW Alessi1911! Even tho i've read many articles on PH and already saw just about all the separate videos u featured in this 'mini movie', i feel like i've just had the "phyllis hyman experience". So job well done! - from a tru PH fan
You could never understand what this comment means to me, thank you for watching it all. I wanted to be able to show friends Phyllis quickly and efficiently, but also create a film that us true PH fans could feel as well. Every clip, every word, every lyrics was purposely placed within to tell her story. :)
what fat woman.
she was beautiful when she was very thin.
