  • Powerful stuff indeed

  • oh

    fuck

  • Absolutely amazing, never fails to make me think.

  • so sad ;/

  • This song breaks my heart

  • @obviouszebra mine too :(

  • lyrical genius? have you so much as read a book, besides harry potter? I thought we used to celebrate talent, not hype.

  • @nivot So did you just decide to switch off during the whole song? At least he uses some intellect to tell a story with a twist, something most writers fail to do well, what's more, he did it with real finesse by making it rhyme, with true depth and meaning. I wouldn't say that's hype, mainstream rappers and poets rarely do this, they are hype.

  • @nivot How can you say celebrating lesac vs pip is celebrating hype?! They're hardly x-factor generated commercialism.

  • @nivot lyrics, not story telling.

    this right here is talent.

  • @isitunez It's story telling through lyrics...still story telling, although I'm not sure what the original comment was because I'm too lazy to look it up...

  • @nivot This isn't a WoW raid, stick to what you know.

  • he's a lyrical genius

    much respect

  • absolutely amazing!

  • I love the way this makes my brain feel. :)

  • This should get way more attention, compared to some shit that's popular today. Poetry, this is.

  • LOVE YOU PIP

  • this is fucking art.

  • love the scroob

  • I absaloutely love the message in this

  • FUCKING BRILLIANT I LOVE YOU

  • I think this song somes up Karma quite well. People do nasty shit for reasons, usually because they've been fucked up by people doing nasty shit to them. Ad infinitum. Therefore nobody is evil, some of us are just fucked up and damaged by this "series of wars" that life is. The only way to unravel this horrible web of hatred is by kindness and charity.

  • I saw him headline 2000 Trees Festival and he fucking rocked the stage!

  • By far the best writer i've ever seen in hiphop.

  • I can't believe the level and quality of the lyrics... No point in trying describe how good they are... There are no words...

  • at first i have to admit i didnt like this song but that was only because i didnt understand it but after listening to it a few more times my love grew for it like all of their other songs ^^ <3

  • After they finished this live Scroobius said "That was just a cheerful little tune about child suicide and murder revenge"

  • The story is in a messed up order :/

  • @cassiusitsover It's differen't people's point of view in the suicide story. It's all happening at once, or is background info. :/ The song is called Angles, so it's different angles of a story.

  • you don't get a better poet than this . i just gave up rapping

  • @deanoisbadist are you like me obsessed with their music and listen to them like 5 times a day i dont even eat that much fruit : /

  • @zPaddyz can't get enough mate ! every song is amazing ! not often you get music that changes ya life but this is it ! can't believe they aint got billions of hits on here !!! nice one paddy :-)

  • @deanoisbadist they messaged me back on youtube and told me they were tourin in ireland next year i got very excited about the tour AND that they actually messaged me back ^^ not many artists do that but they are down to earth!

  • @zPaddyz where and when are they touring?? I actually need to hear them...

  • @Shaunajones1990 he said they might be in northern ireland in may of 2012

but im sure wherever your from if you pm them theyll pm you back they did that to me anyway ^_^

  • you don't get a better poet than this .

  • Haha...my brothers names :/

  • Wow. I've listened to this song many times, but only this time did I get the correlation with the last three intros. Powerful song.

  • holy fuck, what a song

  • I cried over a song, that says quite alot

  • This is the only rap that i like and i've been listening to it for 3 days straight. The last line in the billy part brought the whole song together. It made me all tingly xD

  • had to do a drama piece based around this song at school... the audience weren't too keen.

  • As I finished listening to this tune, it was punctuated by the boom of thunder and a flash of lightning outside, right on the final beat. Beautiful.

  • unless I happen to be your mum, these guys are dudes

  • Don't think I've heard a Scroobius track that didn't give me spine tingles....

  • FAATTTT !!

  • Heartbreaking song, tbh.

    This is art.

  • @finnsia Yeah, you caught me.

  • @finnsia this song is shit? you suck.

  • @Argidisparken

    Hip Hop Is Art

  • actually a cool song.

  • First time I listened to this, the Billy part nearly fucked me up.

  • @merrja666 The first time I listened to this, the Billy part did fuck me up.

  • Why am I not surprised to find cool, non-internet trollish people on a Scroob video? :D

  • Holy shit. you know a song is amazing when listening to the lyrics makes your jaw drop to the floor.

  • Scroobius is peerless.. He's pretty much the only rapper around (that I've heard of, there's probably more.. hopefully..) nowadays who's a poet and not an idiot.

  • @BedroomBassist so fxcking true man.

  • @BedroomBassist Check out Eyedea and Abilities, Eyedea died a few months ago though, so hes not so much around......... but his music is!

  • @GettnPhatOnHax Thanks for the heads up! :D

  • @BedroomBassist i may as well chuck another in, check out "WarCloud" also.

  • @GettnPhatOnHax Mint.

  • @BedroomBassist Also check out Immortal Technique, though some of his rhymes are shock value, the lyrics are well constructed and a lot of his music has an intense moral or social viewpoint thats put across, I suggest not listening to Dance with the Devil as an introduction.

  • @Fuplomacy Sweet, will do.

  • @Fuplomacy I.T is one of my favs of course not above scroob but still dancing with the devil is a classic, but some of snoops old stuff is pure awsomeness

  • @BedroomBassist You should check out Sage Francis and Aesop Rock (Y)

  • deep and true. <3

  • this is deep music, i love it!

  • i remember when i first figured out what this song was saying, like on the 4th or 5th listen

i shat bricks and listened more, now i get chills everytime i listen to it, and go, damn these lyrics are genius

  • merry crimbo scroob ;)

  • I wish the beat wasn't s loud in comparison to the lyrics, from what i can glean while being flogged by the beat i quite enjoyed though

  • In my opinion, their best song. Such stories behind the lyrics. It's lovely.

  • I can't understand him.

  • @LunchPerson I can. you're missin out mate.

  • I don't even like rap but... I thought this pretty good.

  • love this song, and if you do, it's likely you'll like my music, check it out, UK hip hop artist from middlesbrough, feedback is appreciated! hopefully one day people will be posting on my videos asking to listen to their tunes, but til that day comes, well, just listen!

  • This song is definitely one of my favorites. I love the way this song puts a perspective into life. It makes me wonder how every sees things differently from they way I see them. This is good music.

  • 9 People have no soul....

  • Wow.

  • just shows the fragility of life. only takes one catalyst to change everything.

  • I love this song. I love this song. Oh christ i love this song.

  • ive just read the lyrics....

    tear...

    its fucking unbelievable....

    the strongest lyrics ever !

  • i just read the words and cried.

scroobius pip is a lyrical GOD.

  • I really want a video to this.

  • Like everyone else, this song always gives me chills.

  • brilliant. truly goes to show how we can never fully encompass how we affect the lives of others.

  • this song is amazing

  • Goosebumps, everytime I hear the start beat and realise what song it is..... Amazingly touching.

  • does any 1 els love this song so much u just cant express it

  • this is the Inception of songs

  • love this song but does no-one see a slight link between this and the raoul moat situation

  • @VerveVixen Google it mate.

  • Fucking. Amazing.

  • This song is so tragic, if you think about it. The first guy Mark was giving up a social life so he could get a good house for him and his brother, then his brother committed suicide and he'll probably end up with a life sentence in prison.

    :(

  • Before when I heard the song I thought I understood it and it was good. After reading the lyrics and realising it was all linked it made me think that this song is amazing.

  • These guys rock. Dan le Sac can knock out a beat and a half...... you should see him when he is showing off live and PIP is so much more live too

  • brilliant lyrics, but i hate the beat im sorry

  • wicked poem

  • A friend gave me a copy of this Album. After hearing this song, I went straight to the shop and bought my own copy. It's by far the best LP I've heard in years.

  • That brought me to the brink of tears. He is fucking amazing.

  • fucking mind fuck

  • I saw these guys live last night... I went because I knew my friend liked them and I saw it advertised. So I'd only heard Letter From God to Man and Thou Shalt Always Kill.

  • they are live at the roisin dubh at the 22 april

  • i respect how complex and brilliant this tune is, but i have no need to listen to it again

  • original version better

  • Simply brilliant.. I love the fact you have to actually listen to the song to understand it. If you're impatient, you wont get to know what the song is actually about. I seen them last week @Birmingham Academy, if you get chance then go! they're good... very good!

  • my mum doesn't like these lyrics. she complained and declared i shouldn't listen to it...therefore i put it on repeat and turned it up louder. very nice song.

  • ooh, rebel.

  • @2009walkerje Thou shalt not pay any regard to your Mother's taste in music.

  • wow...that is epic

  • Has a touch of Reverend and the Makers about him I approve!

  • Unbelievable talent. Hero. Bob Dylan of the 21st century

  • WTF? Bob Dylan? Talent?

  • Are you saying bob dylan has no talent, or dan le sac, or dan le sac doesnt measure up to Bob, or what?

  • This is funkin mental.

hes got a style a bit like

Sage Francis or UK dude AllFlaws

    really great lyricists

  • @flickflange i proper got into dan le sac vs. scroobius pip because of sage francis to be fair their both amazing artists

  • Cut one wrist then switch and cut the other. Why don't you try it?

  • hell yeah its music, saw them at bestival and they were f**king incredible, hope they're doing festivals this year so i can see them again :)

  • It must be weird going to one of their gigs, its not really music is it? pretty good though

  • @Chortleclips i think it is music but at the same time it's art, poetry and many more. but that's what music should be, shouldn't it?

  • I think people are under the impression that i'm being critical, i'm not dissin it, I think its, great, ive favourited it, I agree with you 100% and I would love to see them live. Its different but thats what makes it so enjoyable.

  • @Chortleclips I've been to several, all at festivals and such. They're awesome. This song in particular is incredibly powerful

  • @Chortleclips I've been to several, at gigs and such. They're awesome, but not that obscure. This song in particular is very powerful though

  • @anewcellarindeed I agree, and i think its great that people are so quick to defend them. I think i've just been the victim of my own poor choice of words here, weird isnt always a bad thing, in fact its usually the opposite as far as im concerned.. I would definitely go see them if the opportunity arises..

  • An eye for a eye leaves the whole world blind"

  • Holy shit this songs good! His lyrics are incredible

  • dan is a lyrical jesus!!! i bow down to him!!!

  • What a fantastic song. Genius.

  • yeah man fuck tits

  • @YosirPwns Like a Spanish tie ?

  • I love this song so much.

Does it remind anyone else of a Quintin Tarentino movie, in the way that at first it doesn't make sense, but then as it proresses it gets clearer?

props to le sac vs pip

  • Pulp fiction?

  • That one in particular, but he does that with a lot of his movies.

    Not just me then lol

  • Sure, Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs. Both the films use point of views, or Angles, to provide context from each character in different situations. One angle paints a single picture, but a combination of all the angles in the movies illustrate a completely different story.

  • it's because of his writing process. it seems to me as though he writes his endings first.
