Uh, they aren't Moa's, they're Cockatrice's and they spit poison darts at you. You can't get Moa eggs from them either.

Those are Moa birds, they are not tamable, but they lay eggs and give birth to a tamed Moa Bird with the encubator. You have to feed the tamed ones to make them grow. Different colors eat different amounts :)
