THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE and even if u dont answer.. man u rock! lol greetings from Colombia (South America)

  • @VirtusBerMors Hi dude, thanks for the comment. I've no idea what kind of wood I made the fret board out of I'm afraid! I just found it laying about and decided it would do the job. Sorry I can't be of more help!

  • Sweet! I have an old guitar I was going to get rid of, now, the next time the wife sees me in the basement, she'll say , "what the hell are you doing?"

I'll just tell her she wouldn't understand it. (Like I usually do with all the contraptions I make.)

    Great job, very inventive.

  • good job

  • I have been wondering about something like this. I tried it using a kids drum. not so good due to flex of the drum pad.. This turned out pretty damn good. Nice work.

  • Nice work. You put a lot of effort into it and it paid off.

  • Dude you're quite brilliant! Nicely done. What did you use for the grill on the resonator?

  • Heh thanks a lot mate. The grill is one of the only things I actually bought, it's a speaker cover I got off ebay ;)

  • Very Cool piece of work, happy for U how does it sound ?

  • VERY Sweet Vid!! I Liked it a LOT!! You put a lot of heart & soul into that lil' guitar.. cool design, too.. I loved how you made do w/ what you had to weigh down your glue job.. very clever.. just wish you had played it a lil' more.. small quibble, tho.

    NICEly done!!

  • Cheers mate :D

Aye I had to improvise a lot, I owe it all to MacGyver!

I've got another video on my page where I do play it a lot longer.

  • Nice video. That's a very cool and funky guitar you built for yourself. Nice work. Enjoy.

  • Good work you dirty Mexican!

  • i found your blog on a google search....im definitely doing this soon....does the reso pan sit flat on the back of the guitar or is it up in the air?

  • I've had a few questions about this actually, I guess I wasn't very clear!

The sound well attaches to the inside of the top of the guitar, and sort of hangs there. Then the cone rests on a ridge inside the sound well. So it is sort of floating in the middle of the body.

I'm going to do a diagram on my blog so it's more clear.

  • cool. thats what i thought....i actually started this yesterday...im stoked! you did a hell of a job on yours...did you use a speaker grill cover?

  • Awesome, yeah I had loads of fun doing mine and it turned out sweet. Heheh yeah thats a speaker cover, about £5 off ebay!

  • wow, it sounds sounds really good.

  • mamma likes some sugar on her titties.

  • Bravo! Let's see it in action!

Great job man. What will be your encore project?

Cheers - Jeff (creator of the Alvarezo)

  • Looks really good!
