Most of these people with double their current workload at half their pay rate, would still have a better deal than the majority of the remaining working people.
and why is it ok for politicians to steal every thing they cant fuck. but im not allowed to make over 24,000 a year and go to the dentist. dont be such a saur kraut
O and i dont have insurance because i cant aford it. count down the years and say Auf Wiedersehen to your Douchen Governor Herr Kasich. you can get rid of the all the cops teachers and fire fighters and ems but im sure the jews will put up a fight. they still have money.. i hope...
@wingthaij it also get the jaws of life in a fire truck. with out a contact when they break they would not get fixed or replaced. this along with oxygen and AED's in ambulances. dont bitch when your little shit kid is not gettin enough attention in school because student to teacher ratios are in a contract. when you need the cops and there is enough to show up that is because of a contract. most of us only make in the 20's a year. you shit-ass richer. go read a contract you fuck
PART I OF Eleven: Even President Franklin Roosevelt, a friend of private-sector unionism, drew a line when it came to government workers: “Meticulous attention,” the president insisted in 1937, “should be paid to the special relations and obligations of public servants to the public itself and to the Government….The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service.” (Continue to Part II)
PART II: The reason? F.D.R. believed that “[a] strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to obstruct the operations of government until their demands are satisfied. Such action looking toward the paralysis of government by those who have sworn to support it is unthinkable and intolerable.” Roosevelt was hardly alone in holding these views, even among the champions of organized labor. (Continue to Part III)
Part III: Indeed, the first president of the AFL-CIO, George Meany, believed it was “impossible to bargain collectively with the government.” In WI collective bargaining has earned well over $700K in Viagra & workers calling in sick, then coming in that day anyway to work in some other capacity, then collecting over-time pay. (Continue to Part IV)
PART IV: It seems that unions get politicians elected and the politicians have no qualms about paying off their supporters by granting them their demands, especially since the politician uses tax payer dollars to do so. Is it ok to bargain from both sides of the table? (Continue to Part V)
PART VI: By law the government can employ workers only on the terms negotiated by the union; it cannot hire non-union workers to do the job. That means the government must reach an agreement with the union to get anything done. The voters’ elected representatives do not have the final say. This gives unions enormous power over government budgets, which they use to get more of the budget spent on them: (Continue to Part VII)
PART VII● Collective bargaining is the reason taxpayers in Wisconsin cover almost all the cost of government pensions and 94 percent of government workers’ health-care premiums.● Collective bargaining is the reason most Wisconsin school districts buy health coverage from a company created by the Wisconsin Education Association — even though their premiums cost far more than competing carriers. (Continue to Part VIII)
PART VIII:● Collective bargaining is the reason Milwaukee Public Schools spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Viagra instead of on educating students.
If unions have the power to force government to hire on their terms, they have the power to press for more tax dollars. Unions might make concessions now, but tomorrow is another day. (Continue to Part IX)
PART IX: And if they keep their monopoly, unions may not make even concessions today. Wisconsin union leaders publicly insist they accept Governor Walker’s proposed increases in employee contributions, but it looks like their municipal locals didn’t get the memo — they are locking in contracts that make none of those changes. (Continue to Part X)
PART X: If collective-bargaining reform gets taken off the table, unions will go right back to demanding that taxpayers cough up more. Letting government unions keep their monopoly ties the hands of voters’ elected representatives and forces them to spend enough to keep the unions satisfied. (Continue to Part XI)
PART XI: Collective bargaining is all about taxpayers’ money. That is what government unions bargain for.— James Sherk is a senior policy analyst in labor economics in the Center for Data Analysis at the Heritage Foundation.
Was a degreed computer professional with a large medical organization. Had 25 years experience. Tried TWO YEARS for a promotion-exceeded all the requirements. Human Resources said they couldn’t promote because, “the position description was being rewritten.” After TWO YEARS waiting, I found the position had been given to a manager's friend who had spent the last seven years at home with her kids. College degree or not, could have used a union then. Wise up professionals. Wise up middle class.
In the private sector, unless you are in a union, you are an "at will employee" which means you can be fired for ANY reason and your employer doesn't even have to defend their reason for putting you out on the street - ask a labor lawyer. So let’s eliminate unions and shrink government. That only leaves big business and Wall Street with nothing and no one to stop them. The same people who just nearly put the world into a depression. This is the conspiracy you should be worried about!
Wisconsin's South Central Federation of Labor Issues General Strike Warning The federation of 45,000 workers, went on record on Feb. 21, as opposing all provisions in Walker's bill,"and voted to endorse preparations for a general strike. While this is just a threat at this point, the decision is a tremendous step forward. Such a strike would take much effort and courage, but if shutting down the economy is what is needed to get the bill repealed, then that's what labor needs to do.
Ha, gotta love these ignorant comments about the republican party operating on the basis of merit and efficiency. The top dogs having access to the purse of the private non-democratic global corporate governments have been using that wealth to buy politicians. They love communist and dictatorial regimes because of the cheap sweat shop labor such regimes offer. Get a clue patriots who support the people who work, fight and die for america, we are quickly falling into the hands of Monarchs.
Our economic system is breaking and eventually will collapse. The worst is yet to come. Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon His name while He is near.
You should get a pay raise on merit and efficiency merit is who you know efficiency is how well you know him so every bodies pay should be on merit and efficiency that's the way the Republican party is they believe in merit and efficiency again merit is who you know and efficiency is how well you know them that is the Republican way that's why they want to break the union so support merit and efficiency and the Republican way
I was there and yes, we were locked out. We were mannerly with no pushing or shoving. Isn't the statehouse the people's house? People only wanted to get in, sit down, stay warm and hear the testimony. When they finally did let people in, they only let a small portion of us inside. As those inside left, their spots were not replaced by those outside...what a shame.
Most of these people with double their current workload at half their pay rate, would still have a better deal than the majority of the remaining working people.

PART V: What Collective Bargaining Gets You By James Sherk
When someone says, “It’s not about the money,” you know it’s about the money.
Unions in Madison insist that their protests are really about collective bargaining. But collective bargaining is about the money.
Collective bargaining gives a public-sector union a monopoly over the government’s workforce. (Continue to Part VI)
