This looks like a good finisher for the entire workout. Trains the whole body and you don't use really heavy weights. Maybe I'll give it a try at the end of my next workout.

kinda defeats the purpose of squats cus ur uper body is sure to die out a lot quicker than ur legs, gett a better muslce gain doing sets of regular squats and super setting with sum seal push ups or sumthin
By that argument, I guess you don't believe overhead squats have any use as well? I don't believe by any means this should replace squats or front squats, but can be done as an accessory movement for legs or core. Or just for the same reason I do... for shits and giggles and because I can. LOL!
He does these exercises just to keep it interesting and experiment. Besides, I think the exercise is an extreme good core builder. You'll need a lot of hip/knee flexibility for these exercises though, but Timba obviously has that :)
Hello, please can you give me advice i just cant get up this way from ground... how to develop mobility or strenght to do this excercise? Thanks a lot!
The guy who runs MobilityWOD suggests setting the top of your foot toes first against something (i.e. wall or box) and separately trying to move your hip forward while keeping your leg straight, and trying to move your knee forward to touch the wall. Also, I found that implementing front squats improved flexibility a lot, and just sitting down into a very deep squat should help a lot.
If I were to critique; I would say you might want to use a slightly lighter weight so that the movement is constant speed - i.e. No pausing at difficult stages. Secondly start from a lying position on a bench so when you stand up there is less pressure on the knees.
im studying personal training atm. and we got told not to do situps because of various reasons. so this looks painfull :S but i guess ordinary people arent as flippin huge as this man.
@timbahwolf I recently watched some of your videos and decided i wanted to start working out and eating healthier but I can't seem to get this diet thing down can you help me biggest fan thanks you're an isnspiration.
damn i wish i had muscles like you. I have been on this new program for about 3 months and they define "intensity" as the load. so we switch off intensities each week. so ill have a heavy week and than a moderate week so ill push more reps out during the lighter days. today i did legs and i pushed out 20 reps per set. It killed me but i think that is waht you have to do in the gym. Well i hope i get liek you someday. not to sound all creep n all but yea. i think ill be a much happier man w/ musl
@timbahwolf ever consider workin on your plache timbah :P im sure your the kinda guy thatd enjoy learning it and workingon it great work out ::P anyways have a good one bro enjoy

I do something similar to what you described though with just a dumbbell. So more similar to the conventional turkish get up.
