  • is this the same as turkish get ups?

  • I can barely do that with a beer in my hand

  • how the fuck can you stand up while pushing youre feet down and touch teh ground with youre ass? XD

  • the first 8 secs i was like omfg! O_O BEasTzorD

  • This looks like a good finisher for the entire workout. Trains the whole body and you don't use really heavy weights. Maybe I'll give it a try at the end of my next workout.

  • Awesome mobility and core strength

  • Timba-getups(core)

  • 0:42 oh yea checking u out!

  • i can't so these without weights in my hands WTF Kane is amazing

  • Because i can is always a good reason to do sth. :D

  • i've seen these stand ups done with kettlebells. They're all great and might as well be called Turkish squats

  • solid idea for something fun and random with a lot of muscles involved and a super high range of movement.

  • I am going to try them out at home. Should I do em barefootd, I think doing em with my shocks on would be really difficult.

  • i actually do these now ive gotten stronger with it so i kinda show off now thank you so much for showing me this work out it helps so much

  • You're an inspiration timbahwolf, glad to see someone who posts videos and has time for there fan base though you may be a busy guy.

    Stay strong!

  • @danteF7o7

By that argument, I guess you don't believe overhead squats have any use as well? I don't believe by any means this should replace squats or front squats, but can be done as an accessory movement for legs or core. Or just for the same reason I do... for shits and giggles and because I can. LOL!

  • @timbahwolf yeah i can understand that, looks like it would be tough as and end of workout excersise with lighter weight and high rep.

  • @danteF7o7

He does these exercises just to keep it interesting and experiment. Besides, I think the exercise is an extreme good core builder. You'll need a lot of hip/knee flexibility for these exercises though, but Timba obviously has that :)

  • @danteF7o7 this man is a professional bodybuilder, i really doubt you can give him any advice or tips

  • another impressive vid man. thats crazy. great job

  • is sqauting to low bad for you knees

  • very cool variation of the turkish getup! cool man!

  • Please timbah, respond with a good back workout lol. My lats just wont get any larger from what im doing now.

  • Hello, please can you give me advice i just cant get up this way from ground... how to develop mobility or strenght to do this excercise? Thanks a lot!

  • @howerism

The guy who runs MobilityWOD suggests setting the top of your foot toes first against something (i.e. wall or box) and separately trying to move your hip forward while keeping your leg straight, and trying to move your knee forward to touch the wall. Also, I found that implementing front squats improved flexibility a lot, and just sitting down into a very deep squat should help a lot.

    Hope that all helps.

  • If I were to critique; I would say you might want to use a slightly lighter weight so that the movement is constant speed - i.e. No pausing at difficult stages. Secondly start from a lying position on a bench so when you stand up there is less pressure on the knees.

  • arnt those called turkish get ups.. ?

  • gym music sucks!

  • DUDE...u r just DIRTY... thanks for the video..U r fit thanks for another great video...

  • I'm Turkish and you wont catch me doing those anytime soon.

  • you are a god

  • Diggin the shoooooes lol... Vibram all day

  • what the hell does it (the exercise) do for the body?

  • im studying personal training atm. and we got told not to do situps because of various reasons. so this looks painfull :S but i guess ordinary people arent as flippin huge as this man.

  • Glad to see people still diggin' Live! One of the greatest bands of the 90's for sure! Cool exercise!

  • timbahs fuking awesome

  • you've got some great techniques and unique exercises.

The only thing i am asking myself, isn't this exercise putting too much stress on the knees?

Else it will be a great new exercise for me :)

  • that seems fucking hard too bad i don't have a barbell at home to try it

  • very hard

  • How heavy should the weight be for this exercise? As in, what percent of your 1 rep max?

  • Loooks super hard, would be great for hip and core stabilisation though!! i love learning new exercises like this!

  • you rule

  • dang thats crazy. When i do a normal squat that Low my knees hurt the next day. I really want to try this but i know my knee will pay for it later.

  • nice hey do you do martial arts cus your core is extremley strong. I do muay thai kickboxing and wing chun what do you do?

  • crazy exercise...brb tring that in the gym and having people looking @ me crazy while doing this at 5pm (gym peak hour)

Currently right arm is 17 and 1/4"...

  • wher u been timba? lol

  • hay where is this gym at ?? seems like its in a hotel or some sort of high rise building ?

  • @iLLusioninc1

2nd and 3rd floor in a high rise building.

  • LOL maybe try getting up with straight arms and call it a turkish overhead squat getup :)

as long as it's improving something, there probably isn't anything wrong with it :)

  • @andyman820

I do something similar to what you described though with just a dumbbell. So more similar to the conventional turkish get up.

  • @timbahwolf maybe we should just do turkish getups :)

Keep up the good work man!

  • for how many time have you been working out?

  • Wolf squats

  • damn i wish i had muscles like you. I have been on this new program for about 3 months and they define "intensity" as the load. so we switch off intensities each week. so ill have a heavy week and than a moderate week so ill push more reps out during the lighter days. today i did legs and i pushed out 20 reps per set. It killed me but i think that is waht you have to do in the gym. Well i hope i get liek you someday. not to sound all creep n all but yea. i think ill be a much happier man w/ musl
