  • I really like her, but her voice become thin at the high notes.

  • Song from 5:02 - 5:09?

  • What song starts at 0:45 ?

  • @KombinoHun

    "The Heart of Everything"

  • Sharon controls less than 3 octaves. 2 or 2 and a half maybe.

She is one of my favorite female singers and range has nothing to do with it.

There is only one thing I need to reproach: I heard many times (from Sharon, from her band etc) that she never had vocal training.

She may not have attended an university of music, but her way of singing is showing obvious signs that she had and is having vocal training.

For eg in live performaces she checks her body to see if the head vocal is clean.

  • 3:14 0:50 2:08 2.51 What songs are they?

And just a random question is F6 or G6 higher???

    Thanks

  • She goes up to B5, MAYBE C6, but not higher. G#6 is bullshit.

  • whats the song on 4:05 ? wow its nice

  • I'd classify her as a full lyrics soprano

  • What song is at 6:05? :-)

  • @xOArayaOx The Other half (of me)

  • Her low notes aren't overly strong, but her range over all is great and her high notes are just incredible! (She's my favorite singer, even though I'm a bassist.)

You made a few mistakes in this video, though.

  • What song is at 5:51??? Please answer! :)

  • @Paramorerox3212 It's Final Destination

  • Sharon's voice is out of this world....

  • @locoluuk Don't compare yourself to Sharon. It makes you seem stupid.

  • @michaeldriggers123 Dark Wings

  • Que Bella Vooz Tiene Sharon Den Adel!

  • Que Bella Vooz Tienee Sharon Den Adeel! Me fascinaa!

  • What song is at 0.46? I think it's says 'from the pain and the sorrow'... thanks!

  • @DenisseSimonsKruspe The song is The Heart of Everything

  • @gloomyxcookie thank u!

  • Wow!! I have almost all her vocal range, I'm C3-D6 :)

  • How many Ocatves does she actually have?

  • The new album has some amazing vocals on it, I'd love to see if it affects how you've analysed her range. :)

  • a little mistake, her highest note is Bb6 in Angels at 5:56 and The Truth beneath the Rose at 6:24

  • Can someone give me the names of all the songs in which she sings in Head Voice and Whistle Voice? I LOVE her voice and I LOVE her high notes :D Much appreciation :D

  • 7:07 what's is it?

  • I don´t agree that her low notes are not powerful.Listen for example acoustic version of Ice Queen or song No Compliance of band Delain. And she also do great low notes on new album Unforgiving and really developed her a belting voice, too.

  • This is not true. An E3 is much more lower than showed and a G#6?? don't mock me, that's much fake, I don't even listen an E6. Might be a D6 but with that much effects i am not sure. The true vocal range of a singer can be listen in a live show 'coz you can always reach an A6 and not necessarily sustain it.

I don't know which is her real vocal range, but this references are not right.

  • WOOOW!!!! I really like videos with this kind of view...

I love when fans make tributes to muses as Sharon showing their great talent.

    EXCELENT JOB!

  • @HomihachiMetal333: She's the singer of a Dutch band called Within Temptation. They're super awesome in my opinion! :D

  • Whose group's vocalist is she? o_O???

  • what are the songs for f5?

    She's my favorite singer 2 <3

  • I'm sorry, but your "G#6" is a G#5

  • @nazgulol I thought so as well lol I didn't get it when I've read G#6 I was like O.o hoooo never heard go so high what ....

  • @nazgulol actually her G#6 is a G#8 but is not real, is a computer program that put her in the eight octave

this vid has a lot of mistakes just like amy´s one. here is not even the F5 at the beggining of The Promisse!

  • @sasukenayrb907 and what about the D6 in Jillian?

  • @AraMoonLight In the end of Jilian there is an A5 and in the chorous is like a B5

  • No, her low notes are not strong. But her high notes are MINDBLOWING!!! So resonant, so clear, so pure. And to think, she's never had any vocal training...that's just natural talent that God gave her:))

  • Comment removed

  • That video has a lot of mistakes.....

  • what bout he last F5?

  • What songs are her last F5 F#5 and 2nd G5

  • @playstation123444444 F#5: It-s Called Angels. G5: Its called The Truth beneath the rose

  • WOAH!!!! I HAVE A BIGGER RANGE THAT SHARON DEN ADEL!!!! HOLY CRAP!! i feel awesome now!

  • Could you tell me what song is at 3:52? I think the lyrics are "it's going, it's waiting, just to haunt you"...

But even with that, it's impossible to know what song it is!

    Help!

    Thanks! :)

  • @MissEllayan

    I think it's called "Blue Eyes" .

    c:

  • @Hauntingful yes =)

  • @MissEllayan => Blue Eyes

  • que cancion es la de 7:14

  • @juliandcb the cross

  • I couldn't hear any of her low notes :I

  • Whats the song in the beginning?

  • @kakefyll it is called "Our Solemn Hour" the words she is singing are in latin are Sanctus Espiritus which in english it means Holy Spirit.

  • 4:20-4:34 which song is this??

  • @evaggeliamy 4:20 -> Dark Wings 4:34 -> Angels

  • @anntsuy7 the cross

  • @anntsuy7 Running up that hill =D

  • @NUJKY1 gracias xdd

  • Very good, I also love Sharon Den Adel, she has a wonderful voice.

Tip: Tarja Turunen, Anneke van Giersbergen, Liv Kristine, Simone Simons, Sabine Edelsbacher.

  • she CAN sing, I mean*

  • sharon sucks with low notes! ive seen them live lots of times and the truth is she sucks at singing most of this latest album's songs ... because of the low notes. she's great at singing songs like candles, etc. i love sharon, and she cant sing, but wt are another example of a leadsinger who's not nearly as good as she seems to be on the albums.

AND WITHIN TEMPTATION IS MY FAVE BAND!

  • what's the song playing from 4:21 to 4:39?

  • @cutie4life357 Dark Wings, from Mother Earth.

  • Belting is either a controlled loud chest or a strong diaphragmatic mixed voice. Untrained vocalists are most liable to sound classical.Head voice is still full voice so the vocal cords are vibrating in their entirety, only you fully stretch them out. This is achieved thru exercising the vocalis muscle. She sounds like she sings mostly in mixed. She's mixing that A and that B-flat. I for one reckon that's how ishe does it. And I never wanted to act douchy, even if it's come across as so.

  • @WibbityWoobityWoolah So then basically she is mixing alot.

  • @eternalsilverlight Mixed voice is deemed to be the correct technique for better comfort and more ease. It's practically a ''chest voice with some head resonance in order that straining may be avoided.'' Cool, huh?:)

  • @WibbityWoobityWoolah I know what mixed voice is lol. But it sounds like she is using a mixed voice that is very head dominant.

  • @eternalsilverlight Yeah, I would've assumed so too if I hadn't heard what her chest voice sounded like. It's quite hoarse, so it's not a deep, full, rich mezzo lower register. Operatic mezzos usually have a decent upper extension and yet their bottom notes are quite butch lol. Like that Cecilia Bertoli chick haha

  • Yay, I love her so much and her songs. She's awesome and I love the Cross!!!

  • She is just the best singer in the world!!

  • what´s the difference between belt and head voice, I´m just mezzo but I want to learn :3

    espero haberte ayudado ; )

  • @NUJKY1 graciaas ! si , me ayudo muchisimo :D

  • Haha, why are these people talking about whistle register? It has nothing to do with singing in head voice and/or falsetto. When you whistle, the vocal chords do not vibrate. Anyway, Sharon has an amazing voice: beautiful, high and just awesome! Her head voice is pretty light, so she doesn't have to whistle, cuz she can easily reach high notes in head voice. Also, whistles can be very cool too, but they wouldn't even be heard with such powerful instruments in the background.

  • @FrozenMermaid666

    Wrong.... XD

In the whistle range the chords do vibrate.... I litle bit less, but still vibrate.

Sound is impossible without vibrating... (Y) ^.^

  • @nazgulol They might still vibrate a bit, but I really don't feel anything! That might be why people usually consider that they don't!

  • @FrozenMermaid666

If u don't feel your head vibrating, your tecniq is wrong (Y) ^.^

  • @nazgulol I don't know, I thought there are only two ways to whistle, and I usually do inhales. Maybe some people confuse whistling with singing in head voice. Sometimes, when I sing very high in head voice, it can get a metallic sound, and I can feel my head vibrating. When I listen to my recordings, it sounds a lot like whistling, but it's not. Anyways, I don't really whistle too much, cuz it's pretty hard for me, and I don't have a good control over my whistle register, like Georgia Brown.

  • @FrozenMermaid666

I'm not confused about the whistle and head voice ^.^

When you sing, no matter which part of the voice u use, there is always vibrating, this is called ressonance..... In chest voice, head voice, falsetto , whistle etc, there is always ressonance, that's my point; the sentence: "When you whistle your vocal chords do not vibrate", which is not true... :)

  • Comment removed

  • @FrozenMermaid666 Actually, your vocal cords DO in fact vibrate when you use a whistle register, otherwise no noise would be produced. Simply put, it's the VERY tips of the cords that vibrate, allowing them to vibrate at an extremely fast rate, giving a piercing, thin sound quite a bit like a whistle.

  • Haha. Her voice is just light. Her cords are thin, so when she goes higher the cords are thinning out too much because they are already small and they carry less weight anyway. That is why she doesn't sing too high. She's kind of a soubrette

  • @primohomme What do you mean?

Also the belted notes sound iffy to me they don't sound like they are in mixed voice but in head.

  • @eternalsilverlight sound iffy but belted, her voice is so special

at first I thought that was head voice but in live versions of the songs you see the belted notes and the head voice very clear

  • @NUJKY1 But she may do some notes live BELTED she may do in studio in head. keep that in min

  • Wow I had no clue that the G#6 was even there. I thought it was a G#5 and a G#4 layered, but if you listen very closely I suppose you do hear the G#6. I must try that sometime!

  • She does have the range, but I can tell you for the fact that this complilation only includes notes up to F#6(soprano high F sharp). She also cannot sing into the whistle register, seeing that she has never been formally trained. I would assume her voice is lighter than a typical lyric coloratura soprano; at one point I thought her a soubrette, but then I figured, ''She's ~35 and healthy and her cords should be strong enough to sing less soft than that.'' Anyway, also the Jillian note is an A5

  • @WibbityWoobityWoolah you're right, in Jillian there is also an A5

very interesting, thanks for comment =)

  • @NUJKY1 Oh and listen, I'm not a preacher, but I really honestly check and it turns out that Sharon is just doing a F#5 in head voice in the Cross. Hehe. She can go high though, it's just when a soprano goes her her voice disappears. That is why she does low notes in head voice. The notes sound perfect.

  • @WibbityWoobityWoolah With all the respect of the world, but I don't think the whistle register is that impotant, because as far as I know it causes a total loose of the register. And No Sharon den Adel has never been trained and I think her voice is really impressive, because of the same reason.

  • @WibbityWoobityWoolah for a* fact. I'm losing diction.

  • so beautiful and made me goosebumps ..wow
