  • real music

  • RIP handsome blue-eyed Soul Man. You had talent, style, and class.

  • this is dope........ RIP RP.

  • Long live Robert Palmer!

  • At this time many people were still trying to keep disco...But Robert had something else on his mind....I believe he's one of the artists that pushed music to the next generation...He's one of the first to set-off true 80's music along with Phil Collins, Huey Lewis & others.

  • Definitely one of the best dressed rock star, combining excellent music with class and fashion. He is missed.

  • Wow...just fell in love with this song all over again. Mr. Palmer delivered the goods every time. Great band, having a lot of fun. Funk was never done better.

  • This version is GREAT...the other live one posted should be yanked. u work it Robert!!

  • Always liked RP - and Dony Wynn grooved those tunes DEEP.

  • I've noticed that many of my fav artists (Palmer is one of them) from the 80's don't have any official concert videos from that time. Which is a real shame considering that some of the most exciting music came out then. But I see here on YT there are many clips from Japan. I just thank god that somebody in Japan was smart enough to tape all this great stuff. Otherwise we'd all be missing out on some of the greatest performances of all time.

  • @vodude

    Soooooooooooooooooooo true!!!

    Damn!!!

  • yeah robert palmer

  • Was there not one cover that Robert Palmer couldn't rock?

  • @krisj827 Damn straight!

  • To grab this mp3 click to dopemp3s doht cohm.

  • It seems four people have clicked the wrong button.

  • @PrinceWatercress ........inexplicable!!

  • @leconcorde I know, right?

  • 35,000 views and only 79 thumbs up? WOW! I wish I had more thumbs. Figured more than 83 votes by this point. VOTE... Man had more moves than Jell-o! I cant wait to possibly meet him up there... R.I.P.

    The Palmer System lives on......

  • This is a brutal reminder of how much todays pop music stinks!

Robert Palmer was a true soulman, a great singer with feel and powerful delivery, and those are real musicians!!!

These days nobody with any musical sense and half a brain can stand to watch mtv and all that bullshit more than 2 minutes without losing their lunch.

  • @robonez Preach PReach!!!!

  • Live at the famous Budokan in Tokyo?

  • Wow, great performance here by Mr. Palmer! He was such a unique talent. Thanks for uploading.

  • old School...miss ya RP

  • wow!!! i miss robert. i love him forever! thanks for sharing this,

  • His version of this song was not bad. I have truly heard some awful remakes and this is not one of 'em.

  • A good tight group of musicians around Palmer on this. The drummer especially.

  • sehr gut Robert !!!1 n.o1 Januš age 50

  • God Bless Robert Palmer. I know he's out there somewhere & on a higher level of love than we down here. We love you Robert. Your timeless & in my heart forever...*

  • i think robert was a bridge between generations and style...hence very difficult. my sense is that his music was somewhat of a synthesis or ecletic in nature. This is highly difficult and thus this man crossed this arduous bridge and with class and flare!

  • Hot tune.

  • I was lucky enough to see this tour at the Wiltern in Los Angeles!!!! Amazing performer and one of the best concerts I've ever attended! I really miss him!

  • didn't a goup called "The System" perform the original version?

  • Yes a band called System did originally do the track back in 1983. This version came out the same year on the Pride album. I used to love this track when it came out. Thought it had a sound quite far ahead of the time.

  • Thanks, and I agree that this song was inovative. That's why I remember it. It just stuck out during that time.

  • Yes. Michael Murphy wrote it and he has a new release of his old band Jack Sass from back in the day!

  • @alvindalvin You are correct, sir. I have the CD. A great Birmingham, AL band called The Cast covered RP's version of the song (which, IMHO, is better than the original)

  • Robert Palmer forever in my heart!

  • white dude was very soulful....i like this

  • oh, babe!

  • Great Oldskool!!! ;-)

    He's still in my system!!!

  • Smoking hot version with Palmer at the top of his game vocally (dancing wise, not so much!). You left us too soon, I miss you man! P.S. The drummer (Dony Wynn I think) is stone cold.

  • lol..I so agree with you.. Robert couldn't dance worth a lick, but he sure made up for it with his 'supernatural' voice! LOVE HIM! RIP

  • @fredthedorfdorfman don't get it people saying he couldn't dance U R CRAZY!!!!

    RIP Robert!!!!

  • Its a black and white song. David Frank was white. Mic Murphy was black. Not that colour matters.

  • The System was a good group....So was Robert Palmer, too bad we don't have songs like this anymore..

  • I love how he is feeling it when he sings/performance. I really loved his music.

  • My all-time favorite music video was this....... the live version is very good too

    THANKS!

  • Great live performance. Its a shame they didnt work on the bass a bit more. This is what makes the song. Oh, i wish someone had the original group THE SYSTEM doing this live.

  • Robert's voice is even better live than on recording. What a terrific performer.

  • It's a shame he passed away September 26, 2003. I really wanted to see this guy live and never got the chance. :(

  • I am in the same bouat as you PrinceWatercress i had a list of artists I wanted to see perform live and Robert was on my list.
