Sorry it took so long to get back to you... I need to check stuff more often. I'm approaching 6 years now. The first 8 months are really crucial in terms of how they will look in the long term.... Try to do as much work as you can now. It may seem like a lot but it pays off! I hardly ever work on my dreads at this point. (: Let me know if you need any more advice, I'd love to help.
After the first time I watched this, I went back and did this to all of my dreads, and man on man did they look a whole lot better. This whole process really helped them create a basis of knots.
The only problem that I continuously have is loose hair -_-
I'm sure you've experienced that in the past. (If you did experience it,) what did you do about it?
I guess to rephrase my general question: What was your maintence the first year-ish?

i like ur dreads there pretty awesome, have u considered a crochet hook to tighten them? instead of making a knot to keep it together lol jw

I'm like a month and a half, and mine are such a mess, I REALLY need to do this on basically all of my dreadies, which is going to take forrrrrrever.
