Using Ipad Garageband with an external midi Keyboard with Rick Moyer

Stardate 1.4.2012. I have now understood how to better operate my midi keyboard and garageband interface thanks to a very intelligent earth being. While watching the video tutorial I even observed a picture of myself in front of his closet doors. Very peculiar, but thanks!

I will try the powered hub and if I am stuck I can contact you again. I visited an apple store today and their reply was that you cannot connect them officially??????? Thanks for your help though

How do you do this? My iPad does not recognise the keyboard. Pease help

@annemkm Open Garage band and make sure it is going, then make sure you have an authentic camera connection kit from Apple, the other ones don't work, I found that out the hard way. Then if the keyboard is plugged in via the usb cable to the kit, it should work. If it doesn't you may need to hook up to a powered USB hub, as the Ipad sometimes doesn't have enough power to power the connection. Does that help? You can always Skype me moyer777
