  • I hope to see a real robot personally and to witness its greatness.

  • Excellent interview and a remarkably interesting and clever guy!

  • yeah, i usually get caught on that one. the difference between a cat and a shoe...hmmm. I'm gonna need to hav a long hard think bout tht one... -_-

  • imagine robotic porn

  • i live in the north west of england and there are NO oppertunities for me to be part of the growing technoligy of robots, i've loved robotics since i was about 8, im 16 now and im struggling to find a college that specialises in electrical engineering or programming, im realy quite sad that i might not follow my dream.

  • @sexdrugsandrave Then I put it to you that the fault lies with the larger social system that prevents (or at least makes it hard) for people to get involved in the kind of things that will save humanity in the future. Robotics should be taught in primary school. Perhaps things should be different? how about this view: /watch?v=kPMlXtzvohI; or v=A4b9wOpqL-w&feature=related; (requires patience and careful consideration to understand)

  • @sexdrugsandrave Come on over here to America and get an education. I know that sounds easier said than done. We have aliens that sneak over the boarder and get into the universities. They are illegal but our government seems to look the other way. So there you go. But since you have the internet you can get all the education you want in just about anything. I got a degree in mathematics but really I learned 97% of it on my own. I really consider my self as a self taught. So get busy.

  • Woah.. there was an emotional response by some to Big Dog being kicked to demonstrate reactive stabilization? Was it an audience of 10 year olds? The morality of kicking Big Dog is exactly the same as the morality of kicking my car. Give me a break.

  • @quantumG Good analogy!!!^-^

  • @yemo34 I actually found the video, the audience didn't have an emotional response at all. Barry tried to elicit an emotional response to the Big Dog kick and the audience laughed at him.

  • @quantumG I notice their really trying hard to search for the fact that humans will treat robots with some respect. Of course the question is only really important when robots can feel some type of pain, But; maybe they can't accept the fact that humans are justed cold hearted bastards when comes to competition.

  • @quantumG It is obvious that the morality of kicking Big Dog is similar to that of kicking a car but its the fact that Big Dog appears to be giving a response similar to that of a regular dog that wouild make one have an emotional response - and to let you know I havent actually seen this video but it seems like a common sense assumption to make.

  • wow.. just wow..

  • Walking with your robot friend? Might as well stamp a big L on your forehead.

  • sex bot 5000

  • This guy has been reading his French philosophy. Excellent video.

  • robot gia panta

  • Hi. Aprox by the year 2020 a laptop will reach the human brain potential for processing data which means that there is a huge market waiting for hundreds of billions dollars to be sold or invested in humanoid robots and intelligent systems and the beginning of the bigger industry ever maid in human history. Search on Google luisbeck007 you will find the most complete humanoid robot list in the World, good information and interesting issues.

  • So, tell me about this time machine you have...

  • what you have stated is true.

virtual worlds and robotics will be the next defining point of human civilization.

and human intergration with this technology will ensure that there will be no war with the machines.

  • If only I was smart and could do something like that for a living, but alas, I am doomed to flipping burgers and bagging groceries. lol

  • The sensors already exist for under hundred dollars (see Microsoft Project Natal) that will allow a robot to identify and navigate effectively.

The key is the AI, the most promising research in this area is the Blue Brain Project.

We can save a lot of time using the work that natural selection has already done for us, both with our own brains and the brains of other mammals.

We are looking at just over 10 years for a robot that can think and act just like a human.

    These are truly exciting times.
