Not even close to No Doubt, no one can play this song better than Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Gwen Stefani, but this cover is pretty good.
@juann008 Stop comparing it, just enjoy it for what it is - a great take on (lyrically) a great song! A song can be covered a 1000 times and still remain different!
@juann008 I like No Doubts version better, but Leela James has a better voic than Gwen I must say. Gwen can''t really sing, it's just Gwen puts a lot of emotion in her song that's why it works
Good Job Leela, I liked it. It was an interesting interpretation of the song...I love this song anyhow and I don't see how anyone with any skills in singing can mess it up. I LOVE Chrisette Michele's version though.
HEY GUYS DO ME A FAV, CHECK ME OUT IM A UP COMING FRENCH SOUL SINGER, FEATURED ON JAYZ'S ROC NATION ARTIST K KOKE 'TAKE MY BREATH' MIXTAPE, IM GONNA RELEASE MY EP SOON :-)
Hey, I’m a young artist, & I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my cover of Michael Bublé’s “You’re Nobody till Somebody Loves You.” Although I’m knowledgeable that Michael Bublé was not the first to record the song, my version was inspired by his rendition, nonetheless. I promise you that you will not regret giving my version of the song a listen, & it will truly knock you off of your feet! So please listen & enjoy! Thanks!
Hey, I’m a young artist, and I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my original compositions “My Bluest Sky” and “Será.” “My Bluest Sky” sounds a bit like a cross between “Irreplaceable” by Beyoncé, “Water Runs Dry” by Boyz II Men, and “Tell Him” by Lauryn Hill. And “Será” is, of course, a Latin number that is very high energy, hot-blooded, and extremely unforgettable. Thanks!
i LOVE this cover. Leela's got such an incredible voice. very Joss Stone meets Etta James (lol no relation, but with that voice you'd be easily misled)
you guys should totally check out Marsha Ambrosius' powerful new video Far Away. i was in tears after watching it and it takes a lot for music to get that kind of emotion out of me these days.
Saw Leela in concert two years ago @ B.B King House of Blues Club, and it was a great experience, Great performance, hands down a great show. After saying good bye to the audience, she came back to the stage and sang this song. Got an standing ovation, what a way to end up a show! Great voice!!
If you think this rendition is Tight Az Hell! Of which I do! I like Leela! Ya'll should check out my gurl Chrissete Michele's version, Tighter Than!!!
@NAPTOWNDIVA6886 I think not, Chrisette didn't come close to Leela, not to mention Leela rerecorded this song and released it on her first album Change Is Gonna Come, long before Chrisette was even thought of. Please seems to me Chrisette was biting the idea.

I'm one of those 1's that blast Gloria, Etta, Jean, Tina, and Aretha, and when I'm in that zone I don't bother with none of the modern talents- UNLESS of course it's Miss Leela James! :D She has that soul I like with a modern feel. Gotta LOVE her.
OMG! I LOVE FINE BLACK MEN!!!! Like the one in this video! It never fells, everytime I say that I'm done with their messy asses, someone comes out with a video and the next thing you know, I find myself FORGIVING ALL OF THEM!!!!! ...PANTIES DOWN, PANTIES DOWN!
This is a good song. I cannot stand people who clicks on songs on youtube, knowing that they don't like the song, comment on the song. I could understand if you dislike the person, but come on.
@queudruex Black topic? The fact that you think race has anything to do with love and the pain one can encounter during love let's me know how small your brain really is, and I don't feel right cursing out people with disabilities.
@queudruex Yea glad you took that off b/c it was HELLLA racist, lemme repost it:
"@kiannaluv21 Bitch please. It doesn't matter what Gwen thinks. Look, I'm going to explain to you why I think Leela James raped this beautiful song. And don't call me racist for this because I'm not. Now, 'Don't speak' is a white song. A song about Lost Love, which is not a black topic. The lyrics are as white as can be. Just admit it. That's why it sounds like shit when someone like Leela James sings it. "
@queudruex Oh shut the fuck up Gwen Stefani produced this version so if it requires anyone's approval, Gwen would be the one to give it, and she did... so hush
@kiannaluv21 Why would you get mad about that.....since it sounds like you can sing....why don't you record it over...and if you knew anything about songs ...you would know that most of the Real song out there have been recorded by all kind of people and from all races DUMB ASS
you have to check out the album for this song - the video cut some of the best vocals out - i love this album might be one of my all time favs - it hasnt left the cd player in my car since 2005 -
I loved Gwen Steffani and No Doubt, and I normally find covers lacking but Leela's rendition really made the pain in this song come through in a way that I think that gets lost in the orignal. I think to really see it you you really have to slow it down. Either way I loved both versions but the cover added something to the orignal.
WHOA!! She coming for your neck Chrisette as far as best cover. I've always heard her name but never listened to any of her stuff. She really put it down. Now to find some more.
She sounds like Sade with a little something different to her voice. I think she a delight to the music industry. She's smooth & she has staying power. Big ups to you Leela !!
you probably won believe me but this is my cousin her real name is Alicia but she wanted her stage name to b named after our great grandmother...i luv u gurl keep n touch... keep that hair poofy...im workin on mine lol
i think that this song not only shows the true beauty of Leela James physically and vocally, but also the true talent of Gwen Stefani of No Doubt. Sometimes hearing a cover ofa song can change your perspective of what you once knew. Ex. Noisetes cover of The Killers "When You Were Young" at Live Lounge, A-MAZ-ING!!!!
@domirae you're right, because I never even paid attention to the lyrics until leela and chrisette michele sang it; which proved to me that Gwen is an extremely talented writer/artist. I'm so grateful to Gwen for writing this song! And I now appreciate the original version;-)
