1). Scenario

2). Detailed and Balanced Enemies

3). Balanced Weapons

4). Hard Levels, each one full of secret chambers or just secrets

5). To complete each level you must think HOW you'll do it, as in new games you just go through and shooting(

6). Fucking, Awesome Music, which gives you the atmosphere of each level and place!

It proves that to be The Great Game of all times, it is not nessecary for it to have SO-REAL graphics

and i used the launcher to open up PLOTUNIA, and played the map Caribbean. And i had just watched pirates of the caribbean. So whenever i hear this song I think of pirates at sea, either fighting or singin some crappy ass betoven hardcore seachanty, or folk song of the sea or whatever type of crap they sing.

@ShanusMaximus4332 Because the game was meant to be played with a keyboard initially. There was no mouse, free look. Try to play it like that today, you'll see it's way harder. We're so used to things like circle strafing in modern games that Doom just becomes really trivial. If you find videos of the developers from id testing the game, you'll see they're playing it with a keyboard, and it just looks wrong.

It's sad. It seems only the older FPS's have the good music. A lot of the music for shooters now a days if somewhat lack luster or just ripped from some music library or nearly non-existent.
