  • Ok so i bought an srt-4 2 weeks ago with 18,000 miles on it bone stock my buddy has an evo with cams,exhaust,25 psi,cold air,and a tune... So we ran from 40/60 rolls I am expecting to get slayed he could not get more then 4/5 cars away never been so shocked in my life

  • SRT-4s are garbage. ill give them the only "respect" they really should get and thats they are fast. but if im not mistaken, my evo have a 2.0 ltre engine and srts have what 2.4? kind of the same with stis only 2.5. for a 2.0 to keep up with either of these from a roll is pretty damn impressive. now all these douches saying that a srt will take an evo all day, hahahahahahaha your funny. and i also must say this whole stage thing going on is hilarious. must be a neon thing

  • @Hawk864 Yes you are correct, but you always need to remember that when traction ISN'T an issue the SRT can actually put down more power due to the loss of power with AWD. AND with turbo's size isn't as big a factor, yes the SRT has a 2.4L but the Evo has a larger turbo. Same with the STI. But due to the SRT having 2.4L of displacement and only 2wd with higher boost on a smaller turbo, it can build boost lower in RPM band and only had to distribute the power to 2 wheels instead of 4.

  • @SpikeDude07 Well put! The torque split is why a good SRT4 driver can walk an EVO IX and below in a roll race, maybe even a long dig race. But there is something fishy about a 12.4s SRT4 with just stage1...I smell BS!

Even a "stage 2" evo is FAR from running that trap considering the "stage 2" kits that both ams and buschur sell are only good for MAYBE a 108-110 trap and high 12's....

  • @BoostedImportGods People do get staging confused with just buying parts. Mopar made 3 stage kits for the SRT4, all of which have been discontinued except for stage 1. Stage one is just a ecu with a new tune for the 550cc injectors it comes with. But as far as the Evo goes, there are no staged kits Im aware of.

  • As of all stage kits are sold with more hp gain in thought.The srt4 stages and the stage kits being sold for the evo8 do as such theres no difference between saying stage 2 evo or stage 2 srt4 both cars of course different but similar buy engine design with the greater stage of course meaning more hp or in outher words more mods done by the dealer or in this case for the evo8 by the driver you can google stage kits online for the evo8 for it to show you the mods added ...

  • Please research about "stages" before you post. They are not just video game lingo. Many cars Turbo cars have ecu "stage" tunes. Most of these tunes require supporting mods like a 3" down pipe or an after market intake most stage one tunes are just an ecu flash. I don't really know why I'm attempting to explain this to you because you probably just picked up your first import tuner mag and a del sol

  • Why do people always hate on srt 4's??? There awsome cars. Evos are very nice and quick but there not good for straight line racing... srt 4s are badass for draging and on a track. My boss has a 08 evo and I got a 04 srt 4 stage 2. His evo puts out just about the same torque and horsepower as my srt. I beat him all day bad in a straight race. On the track its almost even. With his awd and my fwd. I still take him srt 4s are bad ass cars hands down.evos are sweet but srt 4s are always better

  • @germancatala A 'STAGE' is a turbo/performance upgrade kit sold through a dealer. (Stage kits through the vehicle dealer, or parts place) Like a Stage 1 Neon SRT-4 has the 650cc upgraded injectors, and stage 1 PCM kit, so it has a Stage 1 upgrade. ((MOPAR Stage Kits)) MOPAR offers them as "Stage" upgrades. Idk if Mitsubishi offers turbo upgrade stage kits; but they do exist, and they're said to have a 'Stage whatever' so you don't have to list it. Saves time. They're kits, simple as that.

  • @germancatala So to explain YOUR car's "build" It would only be considered a STAGE 1,2 or 3 upgrade if you bought it through the authorized Mitsubishi dealer and it was purchased under THAT name. (STAGE 1,2 or 3 kit) If you bought your items individually it's not a kit. It would say EVO Stage 1,2, or 3 upgrade kit if it was a legitimate stage upgrade. Which to my knowledge, Mitsubishi doesn't offer a STAGE performance upgrade. But i could be wrong.

That's why alot of people here dont like the fact that it says Evo 8 Stage 2. Either because they are Evo owners themselves or they just know better. The only one that I know that makes legit Staged kits for the Evo is David Buschur. If the title would of been Evo 8 Buschur Stage II then that would make more sense.

  • @Himay31992 SRT-4 is a turbocharged car, also superchargers are inferior to turbochargers for purposes of actual racing, they are usually heavier, pull significant power off of the engine to run and cannot provide as much peak boost, they are however good for street driven cars since they provide so much low end grunt compared to a turbo.

Then you will be set... your car running as fast as it will for under thousands of dollars... and i drive a fucking subaru step your game up mopar is a dirtball american car

  • @Bikerxgames540 Well a V-10 Viper flows 650 CFM NA. My DSM flows the same amouth of air with a four cylinder/turbo. It's the small engine that makes it a ricer. Thats why we call Asian Bikes Rice Rockets. Its all in personal opinion. I would rather take my Rice burner and get 28 MPG then an American Slug that has less power and MPG. (although we all know at WoT there aint no MPG)

  • ok i have a stage 3 srt-4 but i started out with stage on and i, just like every other srt-4 owner, know that an evo or sti can whoop us from a dig but we dont claim to be fast from a dig we claim to be highway racers and thats what we are i had about 256 whp with my stage 1, cold air intake and bfmic and i would pull on evos and stis all day on the highway. love all the cars and not trying to hate. i just race i dont care who it is or even if i win its all in the thrill of the race.
