The video goes out of focus when you zoom in on your TASCAM device.  You should have addressed whether this camera's auto-focus while videoing is effective.

How does this camera do with photo and video in lower light, like the amount of light you would normally have in a average living room not a recording studio? Also how does this compare in overall video quality, indoors, outdoors and low light to camcorders in its same price bracket? Thanks

@benigo15 Other low light camcorders will outperform this, they will not outperform the photo ability though. The Z990 works well for photos in medium light, low light is is good but not exceptional.

You have to review the Panasonic Lumix GH2 (hacked) or regular...this inexpensive camera trumps the 5D MKII by far...

Check out a guys channel named @eyepatchentertainmen He has at least a dozen videos showcasing why the Lumix GH1 hacked and GH2 out perform the 5D MKII III, 7D, any other Canon DLSR.

I would like to explain how or why but I'm technically not a DLSR/camcorder expert. So to get a proper explanation of how and why...check him out. Now, if your a Canon fanboy then you may not be interested but...you will definitely regret paying over $5k for a Canon MK III

@BarrysBit You not heard of magic lantern? Turns a canon DSLR into a full spec pro camera, follow focus, zebra, motion activation everything. A 5d with magic lantern will beat just about anything under £10,000. No im not a Canon fanboy, im just a photographer/videographer, and its simple a Full Frame sensor will do a much better job then a micro 4/3rds sensor (Almost 1/4 the size)

Perhaps my GH2 can be my 5D (equivalent) and my 5D can be my Panasonic AF101.....well per say....or not really =D ....but again I was originally comparing the "hacked" GH2 to the Stock 5D....and in my opinion if your "balling on a budget" then the GH2 is a better pick....especially considering the additional cost of lenses, attachments, equipment, mics, lighting, sd cards, etc...As you already know. Thx again!

This camera unlike the Kodak Playfull and Playsport ZX5 has alot of visible pixels all over the screen. I remember your desk tour videos with those two cameras and they did not have this amount of visible pixels on the screen like this camera does.

@ecartman12 Well no, you are looking at two different things entirely. This Z990 is a still camera for photos, happens to do HD video. Zx5 does good video, no good for photos really.
