Atlantis, Hyl Brasile, the Magic Islands of Paradise of Celtic Myths, the Fortunate Islands. ."he Land Was Ours Before We the Land's" Portuguese, we are the Heart of the Atlantic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean lives in us. No man is a Continent. We are all Islands. Look at the stars. They too are islands in the middle of a living Ocean of matter. Hyl Brasile lives in the Azores. We are the Galegos of the Atlantic. Long live Galiza and Portucale, lands of Cale.
weather during 2 years i was there was just short of Camelot. seems it only rained at night, mists & fogs watered the lands, winter - 50 Degree F was usual daytime low. summer - 80 Degrees F was warmest. no lightening seldom thunder unless God became upset. since cattle will not cross them, hydranga's flowers are fences. stone/rock marked field boundaries. there are some large winds even in the absence of storms. 800 miles off coast of SPAIN. most beautiful place on earth.
Just a small correction: the islands are 800 miles off coast of PORTUGAL, not Spain. These islands are Portuguese and are closer to Portugal than they are to Spain. :-) Thanks for your comment.
i came back from Sao Meguel four days ago so beautiful no vid on pictures could show it true beauty also u stole one of my pics i took. the one beside the mud water with the little island with stones to go to it. lol
Alot of renewable energy potential there it seems. From wind power to hydro, yet I didn't see any new installations? This place could be entirely energy independent.
my g.f went there she said its very cold,I would have thought it would be due to being in the middle of the north atlantic I dunno how its affected by the gulf stream though
Even the water temperature is quite warm in the summertime thanks to the Gulf Stream (but not like in the Caribbean, obviously). When was your girlfriend in the Azores?
she was there a couple of years back,I was looking at some photos she took it looks amazing and I would much like to go there, yeah I thought the gulf stream would be a factor to warmer water otherwise I would have thought it would be quite cold being in the north atlantic, she said the water was very cold but I stand corrected its probably because shes used to the tropical water of malayasia

@ridder5152 I've wanted to go for the past 8 years. I'm going at the end of summer! Can't be bothered with the continent, islands first.

in the protected south coast from Caloura to Ribeira das Tainhas, east of Vila Franca, temperature never goes below 50 F (10 C) day or NIGHT.

Cold? The minimum we can get is 10 degrees Celsius in the Winter and it's extremely rare. It's quite warm and humid all year round, usually.
