plus, it's cheap to film movies here (Utah), which is why it happens alot...and there's good locations and what not. BUT i heard UT is getting a major movie studio here soon. that'd be awesome.

What makes that theater so special for Disney? Is is because most Disney films are filmed here? I live in St. George Utah, and I live about a block away from where they filmed High School Musical 2. I'm just wondering why Utah is the place to be chosen for the Disney stuff.

This particular theater is quite often the highest grossing single theater in the country when a Disney movie opens. It's a big family market for them.

I do have to commend the Disney marketing folks for sending this pair to the Megaplex, near Salt Lake City. Its a very upscale, white middle class squeaky-clean theater with inner restaurants. The suits wanted to ensure their product was to be photographed among the **right** crowd.

When Walt Disney died, the bottom line began to rule, as Disney movies got darker and seedier. Along comes third-rate country one-hit-wonder, Billy Ray Cyrus. Now cashing on his daughters narrow time-window to carry the reign, a week doesnt seem pass before we hear of more scandals and inappropriate images. When the Cyrus girl reaches her twenties and irrelevant, Billy Rays cash cow will end. Can anybody say Debbie Gibson?

If you look at box office stats, this theater is often the biggest grossing theater in the country for family films on their opening weekend, believe it or not! I have a feeling that has something to do with them choosing that location.
