  • awsome!

  • nice n tidy. i have a short video of my computer i have a 9800gx2 as well =)

  • Hi,

nice rig and really good cablemanagement.

    Take care

    FuenfamTag

  • Thanks, and you too.

  • awesome

  • Hey, I understand this vid is a bit old but I have a few questions: Did you find it truly necessary to lap that heatsink? I'm curious about that heatsink as well since I have 4 Ultra-Kazes lying around.

Did you test the cooler before you lapped it? Was there a huge temperature difference? Sorry for the bombardment, but I am just browsing around between this and the Prolimatech Megahalem cooler. Thanks in advance!

  • No problem.

I did not test the heatsink before lapping...

I did research before I bought the cooler and decided that I would lap it.

Traditionally, Thermalright Coolers have warped bases. Mine was no different. It was warped when I got it.

Now that it is lapped, it works extremely well. I can't comment on how it was before the lapping as I never used it before but I can't recommend it more after lapping. Great cooling and it looks awesome.

  • As well as this. At 3,000 RPMs, the Ultra-Kazes are loud. They come in different models so this may not be a problem for you but my single Kaze is loud. At 2,000 RPMs, they still cool better than most other fans and the noise level is much better.

I hope this helps you in your decision.

    HT

  • Thanks a lot for the reply. Looks like I'm gonna have to find a way to get some lapping equipment, primarily a good piece of glass. The sandpaper and alcohol won't be a problem for me though.

I'm gonna save up and see what happens.

  • great cable mgmt. 5/starz

I'm a cable mgmt. fanatic, check out my vids if you have time. Thanks

    Cheers

    LazyMan@WCM

  • Thanks and will do.

  • great job brother i wish everyone would take the time to hide their cables my first build was with my pops he chose the cm690 witch is an alright case but horrible cable managment for my second build the one im currently using i chose the haf im glad i did cable managment is so simple i originaly whated the case you have but to be honest i would have been unhappy w/it just because i wouldnt be able to drill those holes in the mobo tray and make them as nice as you have great job

  • Thanks man.

    I really appreciate the comment.

  • Hey man your rig is nice xD

Can i know where the air goes

  • Thanks...

    It's pretty straightforward:

    1 x Front 120mm intake.

    2 x Bottom 140mm intake.

    1 x Rear 120mm exhaust.

1 x 140 mm current fan (on the outside of the IFX-14)

1 x 140 mm 3,000 RPM current fan (on the inside of the IFX-14).

These pull the air in a current across the IFX-14 and exhaust out the back of the case.

    I hope that explains it...

  • Forgot...

    1 x 140 mm Top exhaust.

  • i'd kill for a rig like that =0

  • Haha thanks man.

  • Really? Cause I've got an ex girlfriend who's a pain in the ass ....

  • Haha...

  • why not consolidate all your CCFL, to one switch?

  • The cables are too short. I'm planning on doing that in the future but I haven't gotten around to extending the cables yet...

  • ITS AWESOME!

  • Haha thanks.

  • oh what i would do is not kick it but steal it and sell it on beay for $10 and laugh!!!! lol jk

  • For $10 it may last 3 seconds before it was bought, if you listed it for Buy it Now...

Haha, thanks for the comments guys, keep them coming...

  • Nice rig well if i had to say anything to make cable mangement any better would be as u said cold cathod extenders and also u should but 2 lights on one box like they are suppose to well thats all i really got to say.

    Nice rig and nice Vide

  • Yeah the way I have them spaced they won't reach to the same boxes. I need to extend them and then I could cut it to 2 boxes.

    Thanks

  • hey dont bother about silly comment, every body has their own taste, anyways your cable management is good best you can see in youtube (check out tjharlow), luckily i didnt have to drill any holes(centurion 590) it would be a pain for sure, i routed all small wires right at the back of the mobo. nice rig

  • Thanks man.

  • Nice video man, im about to build my own gaming computer too. But mine is going to be a bit expensive. around $5000. Or more. Well nice video man, 5/5.

  • Thanks. Good luck with the build. Sounds nice.

  • I hate when kids waste time and money on LED lights, and making it look fancy, it would have been a better use of money to buy a cheaper case, less lights, than buying a better graphics card, I'd rather have my sound proof case than your fancy case

  • Haha your a moron. Cold cathodes, not LED lights, cost me around $10 bucks. So I'm sure I would have gotten a lot more performance out of a graphics card that costs $10 more when I already have a 9800 GX2.

  • Oh wait, when I built this PC, the 9800 GX2 was the top of the line card. Maybe I wanted some lights and a nice PC. How about you look at all the other PC's on the internet and tell me how many of them don't have cold cathodes.

  • How about you keep your stupid comments to yourself. I hope you enjoy your PC. I'm sure all us "kids" will enjoy ours as well.

  • yeah but the case too, that one with the cut outs with the clear fiberglass. and don't feel too great about having the 9800 gx2, they have much better now, now that they are making their way into dual core GPU

  • Can you read. I believe I said, "When I built this PC, the 9800 GX2 was the top of the line." Not now, when I built it. Go enjoy your PC and stop wasting my time commenting when your not changing anything.

  • A 9800GX2 is still a awesome card, and some people actually want a nice looking PC. Clear fiberglass? Your smart. That card is technically a "dual core" card. It has two cores.

  • Thanks for the support on this one...

  • u absolutly SERVED dat guy.....i luv your build...lol nvr realised u have a GX2....tis a very nive card XD.....ur well cool.

  • Thanks.

  • hey man love ya rig although not too sure about some of the things you picked... anyway, what did you use aroung the edges of the holes you drilled in the back of the motherboard tray?

  • Thanks. It's just blue electrical tape. I cut it into thin strips and lined the edges so the metal wouldn't cut the wires.

  • yeah i figured why you did it just didn't know what it was lol good work looked very neat :) gonna watch the rest of your vids :P

  • Thanks alot.

  • And sorry one last question, I know you have 1x scyte 3000rmp in the middle, but which is the rigth blue one? CMF and RMP? name? I am asking because i only find some revoltec 120mm fans and they are not that good. Thanks a lot and cool PC :)

  • It's a Thermaltake Thunderblade 120 mm LED Fan. 2000 RPM w/ 78 CFM. I like the Thermaltake fans. They push a good bit of air and you can barely hear them.

  • For which one i should go? Termaltake Max Orb or a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme with a Scyte S-FLEX SFF21F (1600rpm)/ Scyte Ultra Kaze 120mm 2000rmp ?

    I dont overclock my pc.

  • TRUE+Scythe..

  • So i dont know, So much noise i would like to avoid, but a bit less is welcome. I dont know if to purchase one like that one Scythe S-FLEX™ 12cm with a 1600rpm Version: 63,7CFM / 28,0dBA or a Faster and easier solution the Thermaltake Max Orb with 2,000 rmp and using that Scythe S-FLEX™ 12cm for my front of the case. I have a thermaltake shark so not much mooding allowed.

  • Well the money at the moment isnt that much important in this case. I just want some good air cooling which is worth the money and result for cooling. I am against water cooling due to the problems it may cause time to time and get pretty messy. Well now i dont have a so much quit PC but not that noizy than urs eigther xD

  • Also with so many fans around and stuff, what are the temps of your CPU?

  • Anywhere from 39-41 C Idle. I forgot my load temps...sry...

  • I there! Loved the video and sure the PC. But a bit loud :S I am thinking to upgrade my pc with some air cooling and thougth about a Thermaltake Max orb and 2x Fan 120mm NoiseBlocker Silent XL2 Black/blue 1400rpm, 21dbA, 98 m3/h. One for the fron and one for the back of my case. My case is a Termaltake Shark.

What do you think? I wanted the same upgrade like you have for your CPU but its BIG and LOUD and i dont know if the difrence would be much big. Thanks for help :P

  • Not sure. This heatsink is HUGE. The loud factor depends on your fan setup. You could get a very quiet fan and still get great results. How quiet do you want it to be and how much are you willing to spend?

  • nice cable management man

  • Thanks

  • how much RAM do u have and what type is it?

  • It's 4 Gigs of Crucial Ballistix Tracer Red DDR2 800.

  • sick rig man, i have been custom building since i was 12 and that was 10 years ago. i love your system. if i knew where you lived i would steal it from ya (just kidding) but damn nice rig. i have an apevia x gamer case with 3 year old parts. time to upgrade. but i want your system or somthing close to it. where did you get the cold cathodes and multi colors led fans?

  • What did you put around the edges of the holes you drilled? Also you should put up some F.R.A.P.S videos of your games. Sweet cable management to by the way.

  • Thanks. The holes are lined with little tiny strips of electrical tape that are layered over each other to cover the sharp edges.

I'll look into the videos you asked for.

  • Sweet thanks

  • No problem.

  • just buy a G.A.S system there sweat and you now everything is compatible

  • That may be alright for some people but not for me.

Sorry, the best part for me is the build.

  • lol love the rig you have so many fans im suprised that it dont move around the room while it on them wheels (LOL)

( i know you need them well done man you can tell that you have spent time and money to get it perfect )

  • Thanks. The cart that it's on is custom made it works pretty well.

    Thanks for the compliments.

It needs a little more work and it will be where I want it to be...

  • Nice vids man. Whats the name of the song in the beginning?

  • Thanks. It's called "In the Beginning" by Kanaan.

  • i have the same case isnt it worth the price and its just so dam stylish!

  • I love it. It's so easy to work with. The only problem I have is that the little plastic piece on the back of the top falls off. It's not screwed on, it just kind of sits there...

But yeah, other than that, the case is awesome.

  • Thanks. I think it will look a lot better once I extend the cold cathode cables. They are so short, it's almost impossible to work with them. Once I can get those boxes out of the way, I think I will have the cable management about where I want it. Other than the floppy cable and the two really short cables that I have running across the front...

    Thanks again.

  • thanks for the reply bro. I am now 75 percent sure that im getting the wave. if it was a bit cheaper, i would have gotten it right now. lol...

  • Yeah no problem. If you need anything else, just ask.

  • I just wanna kick and break ur rig like u said, JK!! thats a nice rig, i like the job you did for the cable management, and the cooling setup.

  • Thanks.

Yeah I was just rambling on and when I was editing it I thought it was funny so I left it...

  • Yea, lol. Im glad you posted this because it was hard to find a person giving their experiences with the Rampage Formula x48 mobo, I really wanted to know how good it was before i bought one, THX.

  • bro, just wondering, is the logitech wave good for gaming? how about its ghosting effects? and the durability?

  • bro, is the logitech wave good for gaming?

  • Wow very nice for a first build Part 1 and Part 2. Congrats and Enjoy! BTW wats the name of the song at the beginning?

  • Thanks,

It's called In the Beginning by K'naan. It's in Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay...
