We have what we think might be the next James Bond song?.. Tell us what you think:) It's playing as the primary song on our new channel - so just click on ManifestEleven (my youtube name) and listen. James Bond?.. Yes?.. No?
@doctorw2 HAHA! What the fuck? FRWL is highly regarded as one of the finest James Bond films of all time. Brilliant story, great cast and an incredible theme song. Listen kiddo, go back to watching these new James Bourne films, because this was real James Bond.
@doctorw2 How the fuck can you call this song terrible?! "Die another Day" by Madonna was Terrible, all that synth-pop crap, "All Time High" by Rita Coolidge was direst and cheesy to the point of nausea. Matt Monro was one of the biggest names in the 60's, the whole song is epic (in the true sense of the word) and classy, very much setting the tone for future Bond songs. It's all very emotional and raw, from the age before auto-tune. Either A) You just have no class or taste or B) You're a troll
@TaffTalk the song is slow and boring now nancy sinatra, and shirley bassey and tom jones they sung songs that fit the james bond movies exciting, bold, and explosive!
@doctorw2 "Slow and boring". I guess you are the person who see's flashing lights and high notes and get's wet. The subtle emotion and the lyrics of the song matched the whole Cold War plot of decoders and double agents. This was the holotype for every other Bond song to follow. I think you must be one of the very few people to dislike this piece so fervently as to look it up on YouTube with the sole purpose of leaving negative comments. I feel sorry for you that you dislike this masterpiece.
is this opening sequence original from 1963 or was that added later? it just seems really modern for that long ago, especially when compared with other openings from the time...
Thanks for doing this. I love this song, cuz even though it's soooo bad...it just...I don't know, pefectly captures that era & that era of these movies...
I actually watched FRWL a few years ago, & was dissappointed the (bad but still somehow cool) lyrics weren't there, @ the beginning. So thanks again.
Sean Connery was the definitive Bond, there's no doubt about that in my mind. But I like Daniel Craig's interpretation for the 21 century. And as much as I wish it were otherwise, Sean's a bit long in the tooth to do the role today.
Great Great song sung beautifully by Matt Monroe, but this version of the song appeared in the movie and in the End Credits at the end of the movie not as the Opening Theme Song which was the instrumental version of the song.
@7Lukibi99Tore7 Matt Monroe? i thought it was Frank Sinatra, the voice sounds much liek sinatra but well wouldnt be the first time two people sound alike. ( he im 16 many people find it a wonder that i know and like sinatras music so dont be upset if i am wrong, i just think it is sinatra )
@CallicoJackracham No, it's definitely Matt Monro. Frank and Matt do sound alike, but there are subtle differences. If you listen to Matt's other songs you'll notice that this theme song is sung by him.
@Blauweolifanten.............Pierce Brosnan is NOT the best James Bond! The best James Bond is undeniably Sean Connery. George Lazenby would have been an excellent Bond if he had played the part in more than one film. Roger Moore unfortunately tried too turn the films into comedies, and Timothy Dalton was too brooding in his portrayal of Bond and spoke his dialogue through clenched teeth. I have not seen Daniel Craig in the part but he does not look like what Bond should look like.
@7Lukibi99Tore7 I cant believe your judging Daniel Craig just because he has blonde hair, its not about what he looks like its about the movie, Casino Royale was one of the best films?
I'm still wiping the tears from my eyes at the loss yesterday, January 30,2011 of John Barry. This is John Barry's magnificent arrangement of Lionel Bart's superb song. How sad that we lost Matt Monroe on February 7,1985 and John Barry yesterday. All James Bond fans around the world are forever tremendously grateful for the many years of listening pleasure these two men have brought to us with their magnificent music. God bless you both John Barry and Matt Monroe. R.I.P.
My favourite bond movie and my favourite bond actor. I just love the simplicity of the story, set mostly on the train with the villain trying to outsmart bond through subterfuge. I loved that at this stage SPECTRE was still very much a mystery and Blofeld was still an untouchable faceless villain.
@bellis84 It was still "very much of a mystery" and Blofeld "a faceless villain" only because both appeared in a later novel, "Thunderball". And yes, Sean Connery is THE Bond of all times. Gheorghij
Ian Fleming's book was one of the best of all of the Bond films. The ending is NOT LIKE THE FILM. You will need to rush out and buy the next book in the series ("Dr. No"; yes the films did not follow the original book sequence) to find out what happened to 007.
@ar2014 its at the end briefly while they are in the canals if my memory serves me correctly. i just saw it 2 days ago so If im wrong let me no. Hope that helps
wow 99jerseyboy you know nothing about music or james bond songs, Thunderball is a much better song than this one. If you had a brain you would realize that you retard. Listen don't talk while your thinking.
Song was appropriately placed in the film> on radio on river and at end credits as a follow up to brutal climax.... but the film's momentum works better with John Barry's instrumental version, even with the campy electric organ.
Why the bloody hell has a James Bond video turned into a which country has done what debate? Every country has made a contribution into the disgusting world that is the 21st century.
Fukin WOW! This dude could sing. Fuk what anyone says...BRITS RULE AT EVERYTHING> I did my history and they invented tha modern world. NO COMPARISON or ARGUEMENT.. HA amerioca is only a creation of Britain....without tha CLASS!

Not to mention the Greeks and their inventions of physics (the word physics comes from ancient Greek) and of course the Egyptians and their research of astronomy.
Inded Mat Monro is one of the greatest Bristish singers ever.
The theme of film "The Italian Job" is absolutely beautifull...on days like these !
Mat Monro, just like Bond movies, will forever stay in the minds of people who heard him and watched the movies. They are both beautifull monuments to ageneration that is aging.
Great song by Matt Monro....perhaps THE most beautifull of them all, followed closely by Nancy Sinatra's "You Only Live Twice"., theme of another great Bond movie.
Sean Connery was always tghe best of all Bonds, and Danielle Bianchi ( Italian and passing for Russian ) was the most beautifull of all Bond woman , so far. And let us not forget the "mean guy", the great actor Robert Shaw.
You do know Sean Connery did return in 2005 to voice Bond in the From Russia With Love. He was the only returning actor to voice their character sadly.
@nuldum We may have to go back in time and yank him into the present. Although I do have to say even in his advanced age Connery still looks pretty tough. His 007 films are great and even a style all their own.
Can anybody help me - I remember a DIFFERENT version of "From Russia With Love" - it had a similar but different melody and I think women were singing it. Is it on this soundtrack?
@Henkbvo Yes, that is that song I was confusing with this. If you sing the words "From Russia With Love" to the melody of You Only Live Twice, it works perfectly because they both have the same amount of syllables. Try it, I actually like it better! Thanks
Agreed! I saw the movie on its first release in 1963. I was 13 years old at the time and that undulating bellydancer with the titles wafting over her - all in hot close-up definitely helped with my sex education..........! Say no more!
Personaly I feel the new bond movies are far to Hollywood...with huge explosions left Right and centre!!! I liked James Bond more wen he was more Human...theyv turned him into a Bionic man almost...hes mor like the terminator...just cant / wont Die!!!lol
Also, check-out Robert Shaw (Jaws) as the baddie, "old-boy"..

F**ck this money lender zionist RIAA, they removed all the other music. Yes I know, they are protecting the dead artists, but I guess rather their millions.
I have to say, I prefer the original opening theme to this one.

F**ck this money lender zionist RIAA, they removed all the other music. Yes I know, they are protecting the dead artists, but I guess rather their millions.
