I find these prototypes, I bunch of "Dreams" that never make it, at least searching on the internet, I find that this car is still been dreamed of....Meaning that it has not hit the streets yet, and I've found news all the way from 2008 (5 freaking years ago) and still not on the streets?!....Next!....
Is this car appropriate for a long way drive like 250 km or longer? Also, Is it safe/solid enough in case of an accident? What happens If it crashes? You know its upper side is made of glass? Any idea?
@fugitivesesame By the look of it, you should be able to tell, its a city car...for short and efficient driving. I mean why would they have such low radius of turn for a non-city car. And about the glass, with advancement in tech, glass are made to be very strong...but more costlier...so the feasibility study will determine... which is cheaper...producing strong steel frame or very strong glass...so I guess they found it to be the later...
The future era is of small cars. As the roads have been shrinking due to larger & big cars....and more people purchasing the cars. Nano was the first step. Pixel is the firm & glamorous one. Lets wait & watch.
Neat car. Should have those in other countries too. Affordable. Unfortunately only available in India as a petrol only model making India a huge consumer of petrol which it has to import, and also, seriously adding to India's CO2 output making Inida liable for punitive carbon taxation when that becomes a world currency. Ah, well, that's a long way away but nevertheless nice car and good for the emerging huge middle class but bad for India and the earth.
Powering two wheels with almost perpendicular driving force is quite a challenge. Awesome engg. :)
As good as this engg is, however, it is equally true that if an average Indian driver gets his hands on this car, rate of accidents will only increase with unpredictable, sharp U-Turns and chances of drifting. Hopefully the car comes with adequate safety measures.
@bilalp I don't know what you have driven and what you know. Just yelling that you everything doesn't mean anything. I owned an indigo and it served me quite well over the years. Now ofcourse I have an Accord now and it is better than Indigo but the diff is not like a 500,000 to 2,000,000 diff. Tata has ofcourse over the years gotten better. Nano is like the first generation iPhone, it has problems but nevertheless it has a deluge of automakers scurrying to copycat it.
Tata Motors of India showing the concept car for the European city which they named Tata Pixel.
Surprisingly enough, it uses the base city car Tata Nano, but the form is not as stiff as a cheap car of India. Interestingly again, the door design is very innovative diamond shape with the open scissors model that plays to the top of the front. This provides easy access when entering or leaving the car and parking in narrow places.
Toyota is sh!t anyway! Good thing they are going for fancy new concepts as well. The thing is they seem serious about this, not just some garbage concept like the other car companies put out.
Thumbs up for TATA!!! and Bajaj!!! and Mahindra!!! Support Indian companies rather than wasting money on other cars when you get cars just as good much cheaper. Just admit it, You all buy those foreign cars, just because they are that, foreign!
tata should be focusing on improving their ASS and the build quality of their current cars rather than making useless fancy concept designs which look like toyota iq.
@maltese85 latest release as in aria?Well let me tell you that aria is just like any other tata car pathetic in build quality.Just 'cause tata added some new features doesn't make it an improvement, their ASS is still the worst in india along with the build quality.
Their price is lower so ofcourse the quality is not top notch but you have to see the value for money. I got a 12 year old indica still running perfectly no problems..
@bilalp1 did u drive one?? if no- then u cant compare d new one to d old ones....times a changing...tata is evolving...also top notch Jaguar n Land Rover now belongs to Tata... mind it!!
@ijazme yes i have driven it.And FYI tata just owns JLR that is they only handle the money. The real team that is behind the production of JLR is the old one which tata does not do anything in the production of jaguar's or land rovers. So child before you try and make it point make sure you actually know something about it.....mind it!!
@bilalp1 lol who says TATA has nothing to do with JLR engg? ROFL ur a fool.. TATA is planning a stripped down version of the Rover for India and he's always in touch with the JLR engg department when it comes to implementing new stuff in.. SO before u talk shit do some research... Just cos he owns the company doesnt mean he sits at home n collects the moolahs u smart arse..
If Tata has nothing to do with JLR, why was it under the Tata management after so many years making loss under ford, now they are making PROFIT?? Tata is well intro the management of JLR. Get your facts right! and if you are Indian, you should be proud of your country's achievement. I mean look at them! they are with the world leaders there! just be proud of what you have. India will stay behind because of people like you.
yes the TATAs control the money and they have given a free hand to the old design n engineering team of JLR....but do not forget that they freakn OWN the company....the can do whatever they want with it. The only reason TATA bought JLR was to use their high end technology to improve its own cars in the Indian market. You would very soon see TATA prima, which is top notch..but then critics like you would find some way to bash that too..
