this guy doesnt realize theres probably 100,000X more cars on the road than planes in the sky. and doesnt understand if your in a plane crash, you die. and mostly only morons crash cars, i bet hes flipped a couple cars in his day, and will most likely blow a landing and end his flying career within the year
@Juntahh ...um ratios are the only accurate way of comparing things with different use rates...do you get it?if you traveled in a car on a 1000 mile trip and on a plane on a 1000 mile trip, you are 62 time more likely to die in a car...and that figure comes from an average of all air travel, which includes helicopters and GA aircraft...you have an irrational fear. period.

I hate the boeing b737 series...most of the accidents of the airplanes which shows on national geographic tv show ( Aircrash Investigation ) is happening by the 737...I've traveled many times on the 737 but from now , no more 737 :D
@BlackTwister999 That is because they have a greater number of planes in service. When you take the actual number in service in to account the percentage drops.
I'm glad that so many survived. But should you say it's a 'miracle' that only one person died? What are they trying to say? That the almighty dropped by to make sure that 130 people lived and then said 'ah that's enough' and then let number 131 buy the farm?

the chances of you living through a car accident is MUCH more likely than in a plane accident. why is this so? because car accident happen every day, including tonight my sister rolled her car. we started this conversation before that happened. but shes fine and well. if she had gotten in a plane crash.... shed very likely be dead. the people on this flight were very lucky this happened at 1000 feet or less not 30,000.
@Juntahh ...most fatal aviation accidents happen during at low altitudes and near airports...what are you talking about....Yes most car accidents are survivable but plane accidents are rare....Like really I don't understand how you don'e get it....On a distance basis planes are 64 times safer and on a time basis they are about 5 times safer...Do you really just not understand ratios?
@masterchiefgtx the % of people that live through car accidents is much higher than people that live through plane accident... AND planes are used much less than cars...... MUCH less.... so what does that tell you, exactly, planes are very dangerous, while cars are relatively safe. ALSO you dont have to go though extensive training to drive a car(so any moron can drive a car... while you have to train extensively ti fly a plane, as you know.
@Juntahh Planes are used much less but how does that matter when you are using ratios to compare two forms of transportation... You know more people are killed in cars a year than on motorcycles but you know that motorcycles are much less safe to ride because a high percentage of users die compared to any other form of transportation....Yes the learning curve for flying is much steeper than driving because it's the most complex, fastest and unforgiving form of transportation we have today.
@Juntahh Oh and you don't need a licence to fly ultralight aircraft and they are included in the stats... like really, I not making this up...A fear of flying is a 100% irrational fear.
@Juntahh The media have done a good job convincing people that they will die in a plane just because it's not their usual environment and because people have a fear of not being in control...I doesn't help that every time there's a crash it's on the national new...40,000 people died in car accidents( compared to 500 in all of aviation) last year and they barely talk about a fatal crash more than a minute unless it's blocking traffic...I don't get people.
@Juntahh That's it... I'm convinced you are trollin...there is no way you don't understand 8th grade math...If you are serious please take the time out of your day to learn what a ratio is and what it had to do with what this discussion was about...
@Juntahh Ok(example) if only 500,000 people flew on planes and 500 of them died, but at the same time 1,000,000 people drove and 2000 of them died which one was safer? It's really crazy that you don't get ratios... The answer was planes by the way.

Air-0.05
Car-3.1
Bicycle-44.6
Motorcycle-108.9
...yeah it totally makes sense to be afraid to fly...

@masterchiefgtx Ok but factor in how many Cars, bikes, motor cycles there are on the road vs planes in the air......
then factor in the chance your going to survive an incident once something goes wrong.... exactly
