Kiss would not be around today if they had tried to keep Ace and Peter around more/longer. Ive been a fan since '77, so I love the original line up, but having KISS still cranking and putting out new material up to the present day was worth it. You cant really compare the original lineup versus the present one, they are both great in different ways. Ace was great.
Shock Me, Rip it Out, Rocket Ride, 2000 Man, Hard times, I even liked Two sides of the Coin, ACE was awesome. I liked KISS after Peter and Ace left, but it was never really quite the same until there brief reunion,witch unfortunately didn't last for long.
I appreciate Tommy Thayer as a good guitarist and worthy of the title of Spaceman, but I am greatly appreciative he hasn't touched Rocket Ride. Some things just have to remain sacred

I haven't heard this since 1979 I'm sure. These songs were throwaways I guess but this one is actually pretty good. The melody and the verse riff go together great and the solo is wicked -- I can't think of any other time Ace used a wah-wah. Too bad he had that awful flanger sound and is too wasted to put anything into the vocal, let alone synch up his two vocal tracks. Is "Larger Than Life" posted somewhere?
I love the mid 70's to early 80's era of Kiss when they had the make-up. It was pure marketing genius for sure. Everything fit together so perfectly. The name Kiss was perfect for them and the Kiss logo looked perfect when superimposed on a picture of the band with all their costumes and make-up. And the music was so fitting for their image too.

@spernoadversa...YES, I agree...Just like Rotten and the Pistols I think you are correct in saying Ace and the boys should BLOW OFF the hall of fame. However, with the shylock Mr. Simmons involved, I doubt he would pass up this opportunity to sell yet another KISS lunch box or action figure.

I haven't heard this since 1979 I'm sure. These songs were throwaways I guess but this one is actually pretty good. The melody and the verse riff go together great and the solo is wicked -- I can't think of any other time Ace used a wah-wah. Too bad he had that awful flanger sound and is too wasted to put anything into the vocal, let alone synch up his two vocal tracks. Is "Larger Than Life" posted somewhere?

I love the mid 70's to early 80's era of Kiss when they had the make-up. It was pure marketing genius for sure. Everything fit together so perfectly. The name Kiss was perfect for them and the Kiss logo looked perfect when superimposed on a picture of the band with all their costumes and make-up. And the music was so fitting for their image too.

Dude, I don't want Kiss in the R'n'R hall of fame because of just that. ABBA, Miles Davis( great musician, but not rock) and Madonna to name a few. I don't want Kiss there because them being around those entertainers would just not be right. Kiss never needed a HOF or critics when they have the most dedicated fans in the world. If Kiss ever does get nominated I hope they all tell the hof to go pound salt!!!
