  • My good friend is going to have a baby soon in the hospital. Can anyone tell me if the baby is handed to the mother directly first for a while before all this happens?

  • Her first experience of life and it's friggin' traumatic. Good job, healthcare system!

  • This is why I had a home birth.

  • Thanks for the walking me through the immediate care of a newborn. Very informative and educational and I found the movie helpful.

  • This looks horrible! Everything is so rough for the baby!

  • I masturbated to this. I need help.

  • I am shocked! There is no way someone is taking my new born child off me to shoot it up with vaccines, put it under harsh light and fuss fuss fuss over it when it should just be cuddled up breast feeding.

  • @rachdaraveXcore I will give my baby to the doctors after I am done holding it (not likely to happen) and i will hold it right after the painful part!

  • thats a BIG baby geez O_o

  • How about you all just shut up. Arguing back and forth over a video only shows you people have no life. The two of you are right in certain ways. It is good to make sure the baby is completely healthy before handing it to the mother, like making sure it is breathing okay so the child can LIVE. & yes, handing it the mother ASAP is good too to get that bond going. So lay off each other and grow up.

  • @JoelleB88 yes i agree with u am gng to antenatal classes and if that baby needs help if their score is below 7 or so the midwife might not give straight away as it might need help i just wish sum can relise this

  • THE people arent being rough, if u listen to the video its to help with the baby circulation and thy arent as fragil as everyone thinks.

  • @emnemz8 Babies aren't fragile but that doesn't mean you treat them roughly. As for circulation and warmth the best place is mamas breasts. They change their temperature with 2 degrees to warm baby up and circulation follows...humans are natural...hospital policy is not!

  • @JayJayHale well americans are usually more advanced then the rest of the world and in this hospital or clinic maybe thats the procedure? how would u know what thay do 1st, id rather them check my baby 1st to make sure he or she is breathing and wipe him or her down then give them back..... u never know some problem could be there and i wouldnt know wht is was but the experts would knw dnt u reakon?

  • @emnemz8 Baby was pink and crying, not grey and limp...it did not need oxygen. There is a huge movement in USA about the policies their hospitals use. America? More Advanced? Pur-lease! They just seem that way because they are a super power but by all means go on idolising them we need more idiots iin this world like you *rolleyes*

  • @JayJayHale yes i knw it is better to give straight to the mum! even my midwife told me she would do that!!! but it obviously is the way thy do it their no big fucken deal!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow no wonder the babies cry. Look at how they thrown and stuff.

  • what is that container that the baby is in at 2:14 ive seen them before but wat are they for

  • I'd cry too if everyone was poking and rubbing me. Hey, you'll be with mama soon ( :

  • The best care for a newborn is to stay with mama...not be taken away and be put through traumatic useless procedures.

  • @JayJayHale duh didnt u listen to the video? these procedures and what happens to ensure the baby is healthy and breathing etc, it has to be checked out, what if it wasnt breathing properly, obviously u would be a useless mum or dad!!!

  • @emnemz8 Really? I'm a lay midwife idiot...I've had four children, one of them an unassisted homebirth and NONE of my babies have been put through this...I live in Australia and most of the time bubs goes directly to mum...no need for these procedures...do your research moron!

  • @JayJayHale well dumb fuck midwife, i ant no midwife, and im from new zealand!!!! and this video is american and thay must carry out these procedures, everyone has a different way of doing things, and no way is right or wrong, and thay arent being that rough, my midwife tells me babies can handel alot more then what u think, i mean obviously u dnt hurt the baby!!! but its not rough...... fucken aussie aye!!

  • @emnemz8 Yep you're obviously not a midwife. You haven't had any training at all so you shouldn't comment. Basically you're just a sheep that goes along with what ever you're told because they're american or doctors or whatever. Baaah bah!

  • someone dosent need to be a midwife to know about birth..you don't need "training" to know about birth either...and not all "Americans" have that kind of doctor so dont be rude? otherwise you get people responding to you in a rude way got it?

  • @raelovesyou98 Hey thats not fair...this person made blanket statements about me as a parent (re obviously you would be a useless mum)...I know not all have that doctor but there is a lot that do and there are a lot that suffer trauma because of it. This person ^^was rude to me, swearing and name calling. How am I the rude one...I was firstly just stating facts and then was attacked. I don't sit back and let them do that. I refuse to.

  • @JayJayHale i didnt see all the comments because i think its stupid people are even fighting over this i saw one of her comment and i thought she was right and you were being rude i all of the other comments you posted so i decided to respond and i only chose to do so because of what i saw

  • @raelovesyou98 I believe in education. That is what I posted about & she attacked ME for info I gave. She went through & told off people who were just emphasizing with the baby. Before you jump in on a conversation perhaps you should read everything before telling someone was rude when clearly I was not compared to her remarks.

  • @JayJayHale also it seems if u watch the video this baby need oxygen!!!!! SO THAY COULDNT GIVE STRAIGHT TO MUM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @emnemz8 shows how much u knw as a dumb aussie!! as i had my cord around my neck when i was born so thy obviously couldnt give me straight to mum could thy?? not every baby can be given straight to its mum!!!! ok skippy!!!

  • @emnemz8 You moron 60% of babies have the cord wrapped around their neck...it takes 2 seconds to unwrap a cord and then be passed to the mother. Yes not every baby can be given to mama but the majority can. Americans make a lot of money out of birth (90% of a hopsitals budget comes from it) so of course they want to have it their way. But its not the best way for mother or baby.

  • @JayJayHale i totaly agree with you my baby had its chord wrapped around her neck they just unraped it while her head was out then i gave birth and then we had the hour of bonding and she stayed on my chest for an hour

  • @raelovesyou98 talking about dragging this out who cares? everyone has their own opinions aye? i wasnt being racist im white and my hubby is indian so hw can that be lol

  • @emnemz8 it doesnt matter what ethnicity you are you can sill be and you were being racist by calling her a stupid aussie..and personally i think you are bolth stupid for even arrguing

  • @emnemz8 there is no need for racism calling people names just because you dont agree with them i agree with her my child had her chord wrapped around her neck..but her head came out of my vagina and they just unraped it and gave her to me i was lucky because my hospital has this thing called the golden hour where they dont do anything they dont wash weigh or whipe the baby until you bonding hour is up

  • @JayJayHale at 0:35 u can see them giving the baby oxygen and his face is greyish so maybe THIS baby needed it and im sure after this it would go stright to mum!!

  • @emnemz8 Perhaps you're right, but can't know for sure cause of bad light. But most of the time if doctors kept the cord attached until it stops pulsating, the majority of babies that 'require' oxygen will not need it as the placenta supplies it. My last daughter had a lotus birth (she pushed the cord off herself, no cutting at all) If she had been born in America...it would have been via c-section because of their policies. Just saying not all ways are right.

  • @emnemz8 You mean her face? Look "down" its a girl.

  • @JayJayHale its not tramatic because i can garantee u dont remember when it happened to u

  • @kristy349349 Sorry Kristy but you do remember it...until your conscious memory develops at around the age of two you, you have what is called emotional memory. Everything that is done to you is imprinted into that part of the brain and it affects everything from the way you socialise to your personality.

  • @JayJayHale well it hasnt bothered me so...

  • @kristy349349 That you know of...or you may have had a really nice birth.

  • @JayJayHale umm no actually i was premature so no I did not have a "nice" birth

  • @kristy349349 My daughter was prem and she was a nice easy gentle birth. There are a lot of issues in adulthood that can be traced back to birth and early childhood. I'm not saying that you have issues because of birth but for many people it does cause problems later on.

  • @JayJayHale ok whatever. im just saying it must take a really really really sensitive person to be traumatized by birth since americans, canadians etc, are born in hospitals that we r extremely lucky to even have

  • @kristy349349 Not so...my uncle is one of these most strongest person I know (not really sensitive by any means) and he had bad birth trauma...it left him with headaches, migraines and a fear of small places. He was a shoulder distocia where his nurse freaked out and tried to push him back in...he almost died and was left in the birth canal too long. You should read more into it (BTW Americans are far from the perfect example)
